During school, I was still seeing Isabelle, although we didn't get to hang out much. After introducing her to my friends, they would rarely see me after school. The first time I didn't show up to hang out with them, they wrote it off as me going hunting. After the fifth time, they started to get upset because they thought that I was avoiding them. They didn't know, but that was when I started fixing up the underwater military base. I was also building a clubhouse in one of the main rooms.
School, so far, was rather easy. English sucked, but other than that, life was easy. As I've mentioned, there are classes for spellcasting and alchemy. There's also MEEP, or Magical Equipment Engineering and Programming, Flight Training, and, of course, Physical Education. MEEP is exactly what the name implies. You build a shell or, as we students liked to call it, a husk. The husk is usually in the shape of a wand or staff.
Inside the husk is where the hardware comes in. The hardware consists of two memory chips, three crystal cores, several thousand wires (I think), and a usb port. It is then programmed to be able to receive information on spells, analyze the spells sequence, and allow the spell to be cast in an instant. It is also made to take the strain of casting the spell, allowing the user to cast more spells while using less energy, or "mana". The more complicated the spell, the more sequences, thus taking up more storage. More often than not, people like to have magical equipment specially made to fit their fighting style. Swords/knives use close combat spells, guns/bows use long range spells, and wands/staffs use elemental spells.
Flight training is my weakness. I hate it. They keep telling me that I should know how to control my wings by now, but it just hasn't happened yet. They don't respond to me. They won't even come out half the time. And when they do they're just limp. Not even a little bit of movement in them. As of right now, they're pretty much useless, however, I can still use wind or gravity magic to fly short distances. So far that's been good enough to get through the class, but at some point I'm gonna have to learn to use my wings.
Physical education is by far the easiest class. It's just a lot of running and exercises, which I'm able to do easily with the change my dragon side made to my body's physiology. As I said a while ago, I got stronger, faster, and more flexible. I also decided to take several different martial arts classes, which only increased my power. I've adjusted rather well to the school.
After those I get to go to my favorite class, Sword Fighting. Honestly, this is the most painful class for everyone taking it. The smell of blood is always present in the classroom. I call it a classroom, but it was pretty much just a third gym. There are always at least three light magic users to heal students. The reason this class is my favorite is because I get to put all of the skills I learned into practice. I was also allowed to use Eclipse, my scythe, when sparring with our instructor. The instructor tells me I'm one of the best and only scythe users he had ever fought. He also told me that I was only one of around thirty students he could go all out with. In normal sparring matches, I dual wielded swords, using the speed I gained to overpower my opponent.
As a welcome gift, a bladesmith made Eclipse for me, seeing as I hadn't had any weapon bigger than a pocket knife. When he asked what kind of weapon I wanted and if there were any special things I wanted done to it, I asked for a scythe that could retract the blade into itself and become a normal looking staff. He then told me that there weren't many people who used scythes. When he asked for the reason that I chose to have a scythe with a retractable blade, I told him that the idea of using a scythe to cut down my enemies sounded awesome. Also, I already had a bit of experience using a staff as a weapon.
While forging the blade, he embedded three magic stones in it. The first magic stone was infused with gravity magic, which is used to keep the scythe light at all times. The second magic stone is infused with space magic, which is what allows the blade to retract. The final stone is infused with shadow magic, which allows me to throw the scythe around and always have it return to my hand, either through boomerang type movements or teleportation. The final product is a weapon with the speed of a sword, the reach of a spear, and is sharp enough to cut through titanium like butter.
