Chapter 1 - Prologue

Growing up, we were told a girl loving a girl and a boy loving a boy was a sin. We were told that a boy and a girl could only love each other. No one told us we could love who we wanted to love, that gender nor sexuality never mattered. We can love who we want even if others believe it is wrong. Romeo and Juliet were supposed to be enemies, but they still loved each other. It was a forbidden love, but they didn't let that get to them. They didn't let that get in the way of how they felt for each other. They were told they couldn't love each other, yet they still did. Everyone has felt many different types of love and others have only felt one, but they still loved someone. Why does it matter if someone doesn't think you should love them? It only should matter if you love them. It only should matter if you want to be with them.

Teenagers seem to be scared to fall in love and see the best in things. They tend to miss what is in front of them, because of what adults tell them growing up and from past experiences in their lives. It seems we all forget to live life to the fullest and with no regret, leave the past in the past; not everyone will be the same. Although, that is easier said than done.

A different type of love, a love like no other. The feeling of your stomach doing flips and butterflies flying everywhere in your body. A type of love where you can feel safe and content with yourself, where you can be yourself. That type of love is what she made her feel.

The two met over the summer, both had strict parents and were limited little freedom as teenagers, one had lived their her whole life in the country and the other had just moved into the area. The girls bumped into each other in the meadow, the wind was soft and the sun was beaming down on them. Who knew a bond would form in such little time.

The girl had green eyes like the color of the summer leaves, her smile made her eyes turn into little crescent moons, she had curly, ginger hair that went down to her stomach, and a personality that brought light to whatever room she walked in. Everything about her was perfect in the other's eyes, even the flaws. Perfect sure as hell did not exist, but she was closest to it and there was no doubt that she was in love with her. She saved Clover from the darkness she was in, and her name was Nova.
