Briefing room…
The Doctor manages to rip off his ID card, "Deadly to humans, maybe."
"And deadly to humans not from Remnant who don't have semblances." Jared said, as the Doctor pushed the ID card against the collar around the neck of the revealed Slitheen. "Nora! Let 'em rip!"
"You got it!" Nora said, using her Magnhild to send the revealed Slitheen and Green who is covered with the electricity towards the wall. "And they're out with the count!"
"That's good planning. Now I see why you wanted Nora with us." The Doctor said, as the Slitheen doesn't like the taste of electricity. "Time to move."
The Doctor left the room with Nora and Jared.
Cabinet Office…
"Something tells me that Nora gave the aliens a beating." Pyrrha said, looking at Rose and Harriet. "We should go."
"Right." Rose said, leaving the room with Pyrrha and Harriet. "Come on then!"
Jackie's kitchen…
"Nice work, Nora." Ren said, smiling.
"Atta girl." Jaune said, happily.
"But we're still trapped!" Jackie said, terrified.
"If only we know this alien's weakness." Jaune said, frowning.
The Tyler's flat…
Mickey enters, "Jackie!"
He smashes a chair across the back of the Slitheen, grabs Jackie's hands and pulls her out of the kitchen. Ren began shooting electrical dust at the Slitheen with StormFlower before catching up with Jaune. Mickey stops in the doorway to take a photograph of it on his mobile phone.
Entrance hall…
"Oi! If you want aliens, you've got them. They're inside Downing Street. Come on!" The Doctor said, and the armed police followed him, Jared, and Nora.
Briefing room…
Green stands up after Nora knocked them down, he manages to pull the ID card off 'Asquith's' collar, and the electricity stops.
"Reinstate my disguise. Hurry up! Hurry! Hurry!" Asquith said, as Green helps the Slitheen into the General's skin suit.
Corridor…
"No, wait. They're still in there. The emergency protocols. We need them." Harriet said, and the Slitheen chases them through a series of rooms, smashing through the oak doors.
"If only I can slow them down somehow." Pyrrha said, running behind Rose and Harriet. "I should have taken them down when Nora did her thing…"
"You really should have!" Rose said, angrily.
Briefing room…
The Doctor enters with Nora, Jared, and the police just as Green finishes getting Asquith into his skin suit.
"Where have you been? I called for help. I sounded the alarm. There was this lightening, this kind of, er, electricity, and they all collapsed." Green said, while the policemen check the bodies. The Welsh Sergeant speaks.
"I think they're all dead." Price said.
"That's what I'm saying. They did it! That lot there."
"I think you will find the Prime Minister is an alien in disguise. That's never going to work, is it?" The Doctor asked, looking at Jared.
"Nope." Jared said, smiling, as he ran out of the room with Nora. "Come on!"
"Fair enough." The Doctor said, running out of the room to catch up with Jared and Nora.
Corridor…
"We're trapped." Nora said, and they're between two groups of armed police. "Any ideas?"
"Wait for it…" Jared said, smiling. "You did your part for today, Nora."
"Aww, it was me beating up the aliens." Nora said, disappointed.
"You're basically my Thor, Nora."
"Under the jurisdiction of the Emergency Protocols, I authorise you to execute this lot." Asquith said.
"Well, now, yes, you see, er, the thing is, if I was you, if I was going to execute someone by backing them against the wall, between you and me, little word of advice." The Doctor said, as an elevator noise is heard, and a door opens behind him, Jared, and Nora. "Don't stand them against the lift!"
The Doctor, Nora, and Jared gets in the elevator and it goes up.
First floor…
The lift doors open and the Slitheen is there.
"Hello!" The Doctor said, as Jared laid some metallic balls on the ground.
"There you go, Pyrrha!" Jared said, as he and the Doctor distracts the Slitheen. "Beat it down!"
"Okay." Pyrrha said, using her semblance of polarity to send the metallic balls up into the air and towards the Slitheen, which blew up on the alien's face, sending electrical charges on it. "I'm sorry!"
"What was that?" Nora asked.
"Oh, some electrical power wrapped into metallic balls." Jared said, and Rose and Harriet got past the Slitheen with Pyrrha behind them. "Now go!"
"Right." Pyrrha said, while the elevator door closes again.
Sitting room…
A large settee, a large drinks cabinet, a folding screen by the window to keep out the draughts.
"Hide!" Rose said, as she and Pyrrha hide behind the cabinet.
"Today isn't that bad, when it comes to defeating bad guys." Pyrrha said, and Harriet hides behind the screen.
Corridor by the lift…
The Doctor, Nora, and Jared leaves the lift on the second floor.
"I repeat, the upper floors are under quarantine. You will stay where you are. You will disregard all previous instructions. You will take your orders directly from me." Asquith said, when the empty lift arrives and he heads for it.
Green follows him.
"Mister Green, sir. I'm sorry but you've got to come with me. We should evacuate the entire building." Price said.
"Sergeant, have you read the Emergency Protocols?" Green asked.
"No, sir."
"Then don't question me. Seal off Number 10, secure the ground floor, and if the Doctor makes it downstairs with those kids...shoot on sight!" Green said, closing the elevator doors.
"Well, you heard him. Move out!"
"Oh yeah, they see hunting us down as a sport." Jared said, using Nora's Scroll to eavesdrop on the Slitheen. "Now I remember one bit of info about them."
"Yeah, we really should be get going!" Nora said, excitedly, dragging Jared away, with the Doctor taking the lead. "Now, come on!"
"Nora…" Jared said, holding Nora's scroll.
Sitting room…
The Slitheen Margaret enters, "Oh, such fun. Little human children, where are you? Sweet little humeykins, come to me. Let me kiss you better. Kiss you with my big, green lips."
Rose and Pyrrha make it from the cabinet to behind some curtains.
Corridor…
The Doctor, Nora, and Jared run down the staircase and hides as the lift arrives on this floor. Two naked Slitheen walk out.
"It does us good to hunt. Purifies the blood." Green said.
"We'll keep this floor quarantined as our last hunting ground before the final phase." Asquith said.
Sitting room…
Slitheens Green and Asquith enter.
"My brothers." Margaret said.
"Happy hunting?" Green asked.
"It's wonderful. The more you prolong it, the more they stink."
"Sweat and fear." Asquith said.
"I can smell an old girl. Stale bird and brittle bones." Green said.
"And ripe youngsters, all hormones and adrenaline. Fresh enough to bend before they snap." Margaret said, as she pulls back the curtains.
Rose screams.
"Rose, get behind me!" Pyrrha said, using Miló and Akoúō against the Slitheen, and the blonde got behind her. "I'm sorry about this…"
"No! Take me first! Take me!" Harriet said, angrily.
The Doctor bursts in with a fire extinguisher, and with Nora and Jared behind him. He sprays the male Slitheen with CO2.
"Out, with us!" The Doctor said, as Rose pulls the curtain down over Margaret. "Who the hell are you?"
"Harriet Jones, MP for Flydale North." Harriet said.
"Nice to meet you."
"Likewise."
The Doctor uses up the CO2 and they run out.
Corridor…
"We need to head to the Cabinet Room." The Doctor said.
"The Emergency Protocols are in there. They give instructions for aliens." Harriet said.
"Harriet Jones, I like you."
"And I like you too."
The Slitheen chase our heroes through corridors and rooms.
Cabinet Room…
The Doctor grabs a decanter from a side table and stands in the doorway, "One more move and my sonic device will triplicate the flammability of this alcohol. Whoof, we all go up. So back off."
"Ooo, threat!" Nora said, and the Slitheen take one step back in the outer office. "I like this."
"Of course you would." Pyrrha said, sadly.
"Right then. Question time. Who exactly are the Slitheen?" The Doctor asked.
"They're aliens." Pyrrha said, looking at the Slitheen.
"Yes. I got that, thanks."
"Who are you, if not human?" Green asked.
"Who's not human?" Harriet asked.
"The Doctor!" Nora said, excitedly. "Well, he's not human!"
"He's not human?"
"Can I have a bit of hush?" The Doctor asked.
"Sorry." Harriet said.
"So, what's the plan?"
"But he's got a Northern accent."
"Lots of planets have a north." Rose said.
"I said hush. Come on. You've got a spaceship hidden in the North Sea. It's transmitting a signal. You've murdered your way to the top of government. What for, invasion?" The Doctor asked, looking at Asquith.
"Why would we invade this God-forsaken rock?" Asquith asked.
"Then something's brought the Slitheen race here. What is it?"
"The Slitheen race?"
"Slitheen is not our species. Slitheen is our surname. Jocrassa Fel Fotch Pasameer-Day-Slitheen at your service." Green said.
"So, you're family." The Doctor said.
"A family business."
"So, you're out to make some profit. Some money. And it doesn't involve Pumpkin Pete's Marshmallow Crunch cereal or some Schnee dust." Jared said, smirking. "How can you do that? Make some money on a God-forsaken rock?"
"Ah, excuse me? Your device will do what? Triplicate the flammability?" Asquith asked, looking at the Doctor.
"Is that what I said?" The Doctor asked.
"You're making it up."
"Ah, well! Nice try. Harriet, have a drink. I think you're gonna need it." The Doctor said, looking at Harriet.
Harriet is clutching the Red Box, "You pass it to the left first."
"Sorry." The Doctor said, passing the drink to Rose.
"Thanks." Rose said.
"Now we can end this hunt with a slaughter." Asquith said.
"Don't you think we should run?" Rose asked, looking at the Doctor.
"There's no need, Rosie." Jared said, smiling. "We've got them, exactly where we want them."
"Fascinating history, Downing Street. Two thousand years ago, this was marsh land. 1730, it was occupied by a Mister Chicken. He was a nice man. 1796, this was the Cabinet Room. If the Cabinet's in session and in danger, these are about the four most safest walls in the whole of Great Britain. End of lesson." The Doctor said, lifting a small panel by the door and press a button.
"So, I can't rip those wide open with my semblance." Pyrrha said, and metal shutters crash shut across the windows and doors.
"Nope, it'll take a while for you to do it yourself." Jared said, letting out a sigh. "Finish up the history lesson, Spaceman."
"Installed in 1991. Three inches of steel lining every single wall. They'll never get in." The Doctor said.
"And how do we get out?" Rose asked.
"Ah."
Jared walked around the room for a bit, and he spotted an out of place object that looks like it came out of a video game. One of his favorite games of all time, it was a red sword. One wielded by Shulk, and he picked it up.
"The Monado." Jared said, looking down at the sword. "Now, how did it end up here? At 10 Downing Street."
"So, you've seen this weapon before." Pyrrha said, walking towards Jared. "What does it do?"
"A lot of unique things. It was helpful in...yeah, that would be spoiler territory there. I would want people who's reading this, to experience Xenoblade Chronicles by themselves."
"Can't people just look up the cutscenes on YouTube?"
"Yeah, if they don't want to experience the story by themselves. But this weapon, it will come in handy." Jared said, placing the Monado inside his backpack, and disabling the sword for now. "Keeping this safe."
"Ooo, what are you gonna do with the Monado?" Nora asked, looking at Jared.
"I don't know. Maybe actually participate in battle now. And at least I have something to take down Grimm with."
"So, you're combat ready! What do you think, Pyrrha?"
"I think that sword suits you." Pyrrha said, as Jared took the Monado out of his backpack to look at it. "How come you didn't find that alien watch you were obsessed with? The Omnitrix?"
"I think that's a story, for another time. Well, another place, and another universe. Where darkness and light collide." Jared said, smiling. "None of that won't happen here. New story, new me."
"You're definitely happy with us being with you all the time."
"Why wouldn't I be?"
"I don't know. You looked upset over someone. Someone you lost."
"So, can you talk about it?" Nora asked.
"I've written fan fictions about me being with the Doctor. More times than I could count. I just don't know if I should spoil my earlier works." Jared said, holding the Monado in his hands.
"You should!"
"But they're bad!"
"I don't want to think about that one fan fiction where I had disagreements with the co-writer."
Mickey's flat...
"Got anything stronger?" Jackie asked, looking at her cup of tea.
"No chance. I've seen you when you've had a few. This ain't time for a conga." Mickey said.
"This is like Nora drinking cups of coffee." Ren said, crossing his arms. "We've seen how she is like with it."
"Yeah." Jaune said, sadly.
"We've got to tell someone." Jackie said, looking at Mickey, Ren, and Jaune.
"Who do we trust? For all we know, they've all got big bog monsters inside of them. I mean, this is what he does, Jacks, that Doctor bloke. Everywhere he goes, death and destruction, and he's got Rose, Jared, and huntsmen from another world in the middle of it." Mickey said.
"Has he got a great big green thing inside him, then?"
"I wouldn't put it past him. But like it or not, he's the only person who knows how to fight these things."
"I thought I was going to die." Jackie said, as she starts crying.
Mickey gives her a quick, awkward hug, "Come on, yeah? If anyone's going to cry, it's going to be me. Now, you're safe in my flat, Jacks. No one's going To look for you here, especially since you hate me so much."
"You saved my life. God, that's embarrassing." Jackie said, looking at Mickey.
"You're telling me."
"He wanted me dead. And he's still out there, Mickey, Ren, and Jaune. That policeman. That thing."
"Whatever that thing was." Jaune said, looking at Jackie. "We'll protect you. The three of us."
"And we won't let it hurt you." Ren said, agreeing with Jaune.
Cabinet Room...
The Doctor drags Ganesh's body into a small store room, where the late Anthony Blair is also laid out, "What was his name?"
"Who?" Harriet asked.
"This one. The secretary or whatever he was called."
"I don't know. I talked to him. I brought him a cup of coffee. I never asked his name."
"Ganesh." Jared said, sadly. Indra Ganesh. He didn't deserve to die."
"I could have saved him. But this place is old." Pyrrha said, looking around. "And it's made out of wood too."
"Sorry." The Doctor said, looking down at Ganesh, before looking at Rose, Harriet, Jared, Pyrrha, and Nora. "Right, what have we got? Any terminals, anything?"
"No. This place is antique. What I don't get is, when they killed the Prime Minister, why didn't they use him as a disguise?" Rose asked.
"He's too slim. They're big old beasts. They need to fit inside big humans."
"But the Slitheen are about eight feet. How do they fit inside?"
"That's the device around their necks. Compression field. Literally shrinks them down a bit. That's why there's all that gas. It's a big exchange."
"Wish I had a compression field. I could fit a size smaller."
"Now that's actually pretty good." Pyrrha said, laughing a bit. "So, my semblance could be helpful. Right about now. But this isn't a battlefield."
"Yeah, it's more of an office space." Nora said, looking around. "So, what will you do with the Monado?"
"Maybe learn how to use it." Jared said, looking down at the Monado. "This is one of my favorite swords. Like the Aegis Sword."
"You are in love with weapons. Like Ruby." Pyrrha said, as Jared nodded his head.
"Well, of course I am. They're an extension of ourselves, they're a part of us. They're so cool." Jared said, smiling. "Now why do you think I play video games in my free time?"
"To look at those weapons? And use them?"
"Yeah!"
"Hasn't it got, like, defence codes and things? Couldn't we just launch a nuclear bomb at them?" Rose asked.
"You're a very violent young woman." Harriet said, looking at Rose.
"I'm serious. We could."
"Well, there's nothing like that in here. Nuclear strikes do need a release code, yes, but it's kept secret by the United Nations."
"Say that again." The Doctor said.
"What, about the codes?" Harriet asked.
"Anything. All of it."
"Well, the British Isles can't gain access to atomic weapons without a Special Resolution from the UN."
"Like that's ever stopped them." Rose said.
"Exactly, given our past record. And I voted against that, thank you very much. The codes have been taken out of the government's hands and given to the UN. Is it important?"
"Everything's important." The Doctor said.
"If we only knew what the Slitheen wanted. Listen to me. I'm saying Slitheen as if it's normal."
"What do they want, though?" Rose asked.
"Well, they're just one family, so it's not an invasion. They don't want Slitheen World They're out to make money. That means they want to use something. Something here on Earth. Some kind of asset." The Doctor said.
"Ooo, maybe they want gold!" Nora said, coming up with theories. "Or they want oil! Maybe they want to drain all the water in the oceans!"
"Nora, you have an electrifying personality. And you're very good at this."
"Thank you." Nora said, smiling.
"Harriet Jones. Why do I know that name?"
Phone beep.
"Oh, that's me." Rose said, holding up her phone.
"But we're sealed off. How did you get a signal?" Harriet asked.
"He zapped it. Super phone."
"Then we can phone for help. You must have contacts."
"Well, they're dead downstairs." Jared said, crossing his arms. "And the rest of them are still grouping in Cardiff."
"It's Mickey." Rose said, looking at her messages.
"Oh, tell your stupid boyfriend we're busy." The Doctor said, annoyed.
"Yeah, he's not so stupid after all." Rose said, as Mickey has sent them a photo of a Slitheen.
"Nice work, Mickey Mouse!" Jared said, happily. "Now that's what I call technical support. Call him!"
"You like people who are tech savvy." Pyrrha said. "Like Mickey. And Freddie from iCarly."
"Oh, there are more people than that."
"Exactly! You like people that are as geeky as you!" Nora said, excitedly.
Mickey's flat…
Mickey is on the phone, "No, no, no, no, no. Not just alien, but like, proper alien. All stinking, and wet, and disgusting. And more to the point, it wanted to kill us!"
"I could've died!" Jackie said, angrily.
Cabinet Room…
"Is she all right, though? Don't put her on, just tell me." Rose said.
The Doctor takes Rose's phone.
"Is that Ricky? Don't talk, just shut up and go to your computer." The Doctor said.
Mickey's flat…
"It's Mickey, and why should I?" Mickey asked.
"Mickey the Idiot, I might just choke before I finish this sentence, but, er, I need you." The Doctor said, his voice coming out of the phone.
"So, Pyrrha. Did you get into any danger?" Jaune asked.
"Besides the Slitheen." Pyrrha said, her voice coming out of the phone. "Not really."
"This place has creatures that aren't just Grimm." Ren said, leaning against the wall. "Nora. That knockback on the Slitheen. Was that you?"
"Yeah! It was!" Nora said, her voice over the phone. "I loved it too!"
"Mickey Mouse, just hack into the UNIT website. Try and get into the login page." Jared said, his voice coming out of the phone.
"I'm in." Mickey said, as he is hacking into the UNIT website. "It says password."
Cabinet Room…
The Doctor plugs the mobile phone into the conference phone speaker.
"Say again." The Doctor said.
"It's asking for the password." Mickey said.
"Buffalo. Two Fs, one L."
Mickey's flat...
"So, what's that website?" Jackie asked.
"All the secret information known to mankind. See, they've known about aliens for years." Mickey said.
Cabinet Room...
"They just kept us in the dark." Mickey said, his voice over the phone.
"Mickey, you were born in the dark." The Doctor said.
Mickey's flat...
"Oh, leave him alone." Rose said, her voice over the phone.
"Mickey deserves better than you annoying the hell out of him." Jared said, his voice over the phone. "Just shut up, and let him do his thing."
"Thank you, both of you. Password again." Mickey said.
Cabinet Room...
"Just repeat it every time." The Doctor said, as Mickey hands the phone to Jackie. "Big Ben...why did the Slitheen go and hit Big Ben?"
"You said to gather the experts, to kill them." Harriet said.
"That lot would've gathered for a weather balloon. You don't need to crash land in the middle of London."
"The Slitheen are hiding, but then they put the entire planet on Red alert." Rose said.
Mickey's flat...
"What would they do that for?" Rose asked, her voice over the phone.
"Let me guess, spoilers." Pyrrha said, her voice over the phone.
"Spoilers." Jared said, his voice over the phone.
"Oh, listen to her." Jackie said, angrily.
"At least I'm trying." Rose said, her voice over the phone.
"Well, I've got a question, if you don't mind. Since that man and his friends walked into our lives, I have been attacked in the streets. I have had creatures from the pits of hell in my own living room, and my daughter disappear off the face of the Earth."
"I told you what happened."
"I'm talking to him. 'Cos I've seen this life of yours, Doctor. And maybe you get off on it, and maybe you think it's all clever and smart, but you tell me. Just answer me this. Is my daughter safe?" Jackie asked.
"I'm fine."
"Is she safe? Will she always be safe? Can you promise me that? Well, what's the answer?"
"Jackie, that's something I'll keep as a surprise." Jared said, his voice over the phone. "And it's spoilers."
Mickey takes back the phone, "We're in."
Cabinet Room...
"Now then, on the left at the top, there's a tab, an icon. Little concentric circles. Click on that." The Doctor said.
Mickey's flat...
The screen changes from a map of the world to an oscilloscope reading, with sound.
"What is it?" Mickey asked.
Cabinet Room...
"The Slitheen have got a spaceship in the North Sea and it's transmitting that signal. Now hush, let me work out what it's saying." The Doctor said.
Mickey's flat…
"He'll have to answer me one day." Jackie said. "Not Jared."
"Hush!" Mickey said, angrily.
Cabinet Room...
"It's some sort of message." The Doctor said.
"So, what does it say?" Nora asked.
"Don't know. It's on a loop, keeps repeating." The Doctor said, and Mickey's doorbell rings. "Hush!"
Mickey's flat…
"That's not me. Go and see who that is." Mickey said, looking at Jackie.
"It's three o'clock in the morning." Jackie said.
"Well, go and tell them that."
Cabinet Room...
"It's beaming out into space, who's it for?" The Doctor asked.
"What's constantly being shown online and on TV." Jared said, giving out a little hint.
Mickey's flat…
"All right!" Jackie said, opening the front door.
"Mrs Tyler." Strickland said.
Jackie slams it shut again and runs back to Mickey, Jaune, and Ren, "It's him! It's the thing, it's the Slipeen!"
"They've found us." Mickey said.
"Jared, we could use your foreknowledge right about now." Jaune said.
"Whatever hints you have." Ren said.
"Sorry, not giving you guys any hints." Jared said, his voice coming out of the phone. "Not this time. I want to see you guys figure it out."
Cabinet Room…
"Mickey, I need that signal." The Doctor said.
"Never mind the signal, get out! Mum…" Rose said, angrily. "Just get out! Get out!"
Mickey's flat…
Mickey grabs a handy baseball bat, "We can't. It's by the front door."
"So, we need to stop this thing quick." Ren said, and the Slitheen starts to unzip it's body suit outside.
"Oh, my God, it's unmasking. It's going to kill us." Mickey said.
Cabinet Room…
"There's got to be some way of stopping them! You're supposed to be the experts, think of something!" Harriet said.
"I'm trying!" The Doctor said.
"I can't work under pressure." Jared said, looking at Harriet. "And I don't want to give you guys any spoilers."
Mickey's flat…
"We'll take it on, Jackie. You just run. Don't look back." Mickey said, as Jaune and Ren took out their weapons.
Cabinet Room…
"Just run." Mickey said, and there are sounds of the front door splintering on the phone.
"That's my mother." Rose said.
"And that's Ren and Jaune." Pyrrha said, looking at the Doctor.
"Right, if we're going to find their weakness, we need to find out where they're from. Which planet. So, judging by their basic shape, that narrows it down to five thousand planets within travelling distance. What else do we know about them? Information!" The Doctor said, determined.
"They're green." Nora said, smiling. "Green as a grape!"
"Yep, narrows it down."
"They have a good sense of smell." Pyrrha said.
"Narrows it down." The Doctor said.
"They can smell adrenalin." Jared said, happily.
"Narrows it down."
"The pig technology." Harriet said.
"Narrows it down."
"The spaceship in the Thames, you said slipstream engine?" Rose asked.
"Narrows it down."
Mickey's flat…
"It's getting in!" Mickey said, terrified.
"Guys, I hate to be the bearer of bad news." Jaune said. "Hurry up!"
Cabinet Room…
"They hunt like it's a ritual." Rose said.
"Narrows it down." The Doctor said.
"Wait a minute. Did you notice? When they fart, if you'll pardon the word, it doesn't just smell like a fart, if you'll pardon the word, it's something else. What is it? It's more like, er…" Harriet said, trying to think of the word.
"Bad breath!" Rose, Pyrrha, and Nora said at the same time.
"That's it!" Jared said, excitedly. "You guys figured it out!"
"Calcium decay! Now, that narrows it down!" The Doctor said.
"We're getting there, Mum!" Rose said.
Mickey's flat…
"Too late!" Ren said, looking at StormFlower.
Cabinet Room…
"Calcium phosphate. Organic calcium. Living calcium. Creatures made out of living calcium. What else? What else? Hyphenated surname. Yes! That narrows it down to one planet. Raxacoricofallapatorius!" The Doctor said.
Mickey's flat…
"Oh, yeah, great. We could write 'em a letter." Mickey said, and the front door finally falls apart.
Cabinet Room…
"Get into the kitchen!" Jared said, annoyed. "Jaune, Mickey, you're in the front lines!"
Mickey's flat…
They do, and try to barricade the door.
"My God, it's going to rip us apart!" Jackie said, scared.
Cabinet Room…
"Calcium, weakened by the compression field. Acetic acid. Vinegar! The Doctor said.
"Just like Hannibal!" Harriet said.
"Just like Hannibal. Mickey, have you got any vinegar?"
Mickey's flat…
"How should I know?" Mickey asked.
Cabinet Room…
"It's your kitchen." The Doctor said.
"Cupboard by the sink, middle shelf." Rose said.
Mickey's flat…
Jackie takes the phone and puts it on speaker mode, "Oh, give it here. What do you need?"
"Anything with vinegar!" The Doctor said.
"Good thing we are both chefs." Ren said, as Jackie grabbed a large jug and the both of them starts pouring stuff in. "Some chips…"
"Gherkins. Yeah, pickled onions. Pickled eggs." Jackie said, pouring some stuff that wasn't liquid based.
Cabinet Room…
"And you kiss this man?" The Doctor asked, looking at Rose.
Mickey's flat...
The Slitheen breaks in. Jackie throws the vile contents of the jug over it. It stops, farts, then explodes, redecorating the kitchen in green innards.
"Okay, now I'm gonna need a bath." Ren said, sadly.
"Me too…" Jaune said, agreeing with Ren.
Cabinet Room...
"Hannibal?" Rose asked.
"Hannibal crossed the Alps by dissolving boulders with vinegar." Harriet said.
"Oh. Well, there you go then."
They all toast the moment with a glass of port from the decanter.
"At least it wasn't coffee." Jared said, smiling, as he looked at Pyrrha. "I love it too, but Nora takes it to a whole other level."
"Yeah. So, what will you be doing at Beacon anyway?" Pyrrha asked.
"I don't know. Maybe check out the Vytal Festival."
"You're going to the Vytal Festival! What about the Doctor?" Nora asked.
"Oh, I'm just gonna be hanging with you guys at Beacon for a bit. After we stop the Slitheen. And get out of here."
Downing Street…
Green and Asquith go outside to make the promised broadcast.
"Ladies and gentlemen, nations of the world, humankind. The greatest experts in extra-terrestrial events came here tonight. They gathered in the common cause, but the news I bring you now is grave indeed." Green said.
Mickey's flat…
"The experts are dead, murdered right in front of me by alien hands. Peoples of the Earth, heed my words. These visitors do not come in peace." Green said, on TV.
"Listen to this." Mickey said, as he holds the phone in front of the television.
"Our inspectors have searched the sky above our heads and they have found massive weapons of destruction capable of being deployed within forty five seconds."
Cabinet Room...
"What?" The Doctor and Jared asked at the same time.
Downing Street…
"Our technicians can baffle the alien probes, but not for long. We are facing extinction, unless we strike first. The United Kingdom stands directly beneath the belly of the mother ship. I beg of the United Nations, pass an emergency resolution. Give us the access codes. A nuclear strike at the heart of the beast is our only chance of survival. Because from this moment on it is my solemn duty to inform you planet Earth is at war." Green said.
Cabinet Room…
"He's making it up. There's no weapons up there, there's no threat. He just invented it." The Doctor said.
"Do you think they'll believe him?" Harriet asked.
"They did last time." Rose said.
"That's why the Slitheen went for spectacle. They want the whole world panicking, because you lot, you get scared, you lash out." The Doctor said.
"Once they release the defense codes…" Jared said, letting out a sigh. "The Slitheen goes nuclear. Which means the end of the human race as we know it."
"But why?" Harriet asked.
The Doctor opens the metal shutters, "You get the codes, release the missiles, but not into space because there's nothing there. You attack every other country on Earth. They retaliate, fight back. World War Three. Whole planet gets nuked."
"And we can sit through it safe in our spaceship waiting in the Thames. Not crashed, just parked. Only two minutes away." Margaret said.
"But you'll destroy the planet, this beautiful place. What for?" Harriet asked.
"Profit. That's what the signal is beaming into space. An advert." The Doctor said.
"The sale of the century. We reduce the Earth to molten slag, then sell it piece by piece. Radioactive chucks, capable of powering every cut-price star liner and budget cargo ship. There's a recession out there, Doctor. People are buying cheap. This rock becomes raw fuel." Margaret said.
"At the cost of five billion lives."
"Bargain."
"I give you a choice. Leave this planet or I'll stop you."
"What, you? Trapped in your box?"
"Yes. Me."
The Doctor closes the shutters on Margaret's laughing face, and she starts to worry.
Westminster Bridge…
Next morning.
"Yesterday saw the start of a brave new world. Today might see it end. The streets are deserted. Everyone's home, just waiting, as the future is decided in New York." Hitchinson said.
Outside the UN…
"It's midnight here in New York. The United Nations has gathered. England has provided them with absolute proof that the massive weapons of destruction do exist." Trinity Wells said. "The Security Council will be making a resolution in a matter of minutes, and once the codes are released, humanity's first interplanetary war begins."
Mickey's flat...
"These past two days have been rough." Jaune said, looking at Ren. "When it comes to the Slitheen."
"Yeah. I wonder how they're gonna get out though." Ren said. "The Doctor, Rose, Nora, Pyrrha, and Jared."
"All right, Doctor. I'm not saying I trust you, but there must be something you can do." Jackie said.
Cabinet Room…
"If we could ferment the port, we could make acetic acid." Harriet said.
"Mickey, any luck?" Rose asked.
"There's loads of emergency numbers. They're all on voicemail." Mickey said.
"Voicemail dooms us all." Harriet said.
"Now, I hope that there is a way out of here!" Nora said, happily. "So, is there?"
"Yeah, but it is risky…" Jared said, letting out a sigh. "Really risky."
"How risky are we talking here? From Nora drinking coffee to loads of Grimm invading Beacon."
"Way worse."
"Then why don't we use it?" Rose asked.
"Because I can't guarantee your daughter will be safe." The Doctor said.
Mickey's flat...
"Don't you dare. Whatever it is, don't you dare." Jackie said.
Cabinet Room…
"That's the thing. If I don't dare, everyone dies." The Doctor said.
"Do it." Rose said.
"You don't even know what it is. You'd just let me?"
"Yeah."
"I already know what it is." Jared said, looking at the Doctor. "Do it. Because we can't take them all on at once in person."
"Please, Doctor. Please. She's my daughter. She's just a kid. And the rest of them, Jared, Teams RWBY and JNPR are kids." Jackie said, her voice over the phone.
"Do you think I don't know that? Because this is my life, Jackie. It's not fun, it's not smart, it's just standing up and making a decision because nobody else will." The Doctor said.
"Then what're you waiting for?" Rose asked.
"I could save the world but lose you." The Doctor said, looking at Rose.
"Except it's not your decision, Doctor. It's mine." Harriet said.
Mickey's flat…
"And who the hell are you?" Jackie asked.
Cabinet Room…
"Harriet Jones, MP for Flydale North. The only elected representative in this room, chosen by the people for the people. And on behalf of the people, I command you. Do it." Harriet said.
"Okay, this is how you remember it, I can tell." Pyrrha said, looking at Jared's face closely.
"Yeah, all three of us can take down the Slitheen. But not…" Jared said, rolling his eyes.
"If they're a family! I get it!" Nora said, smiling. "You just want us to stay safe!"
"How do we get out?" Rose asked.
"We don't. We stay here." The Doctor said, getting the Emergency Protocols from the Red Box.
"Mickey, time for more hacking!" Jared said, laughing a lot. "Hack into the Royal Navy."
"Use the buffalo password. It overrides everything." The Doctor said.
Mickey's flat…
"What're you doing?" Jackie asked.
"Hacking into the Royal Navy. We're in. Here it is. HMS Taurean, Trafalgar Class submarine, ten miles off the coast of Plymouth." Mickey said.
"Right, we need to select a missile." The Doctor said, his voice over the phone.
"We can't go nuclear. We don't have the defence codes."
Cabinet Room…
"We don't need to go nuclear. Even if I want to. And we don't need the defense codes, Mickey Mouse. All we need is an ordinary missile." Jared said, smiling.
Mickey's flat…
"What's the first category?" The Doctor asked, his voice over the phone.
"Sub Harpoon, UGM-A4A." Mickey said.
Cabinet Room…
"That's the one. Select." The Doctor said.
Mickey's flat…
"I could stop you." Jackie said.
"Do it, then." Mickey said.
"You ready for this?" The Doctor asked, his voice over the phone.
"Yeah."
Cabinet Room…
"Mickey the idiot, the world is in your hands." The Doctor said. "Fire."
Mickey's flat…
Mouse click. Big Whoosh as a missile launches from below the sea and heads for its target.
"Oh, my God." Jackie said.
"Pyrrha." Jaune said, sadly.
Cabinet Room…
"How solid are these?" Harriet asked.
"Not solid enough. Built for short range attack, nothing this big." The Doctor said.
"All right, now I'm making the decision. I'm not going to die. We're going to ride this one out. It's like what they say about earthquakes."
Rose said, walking around the room before stopping at a closet. "You can survive them by standing under a doorframe. Now, this cupboard's small so it's strong. Come and help me. Come on."
"Six of us in one small closet." Pyrrha said, and she, Harriet, Jared, and Nora are doing as they are told. "How does that work?"
"It just does." Jared said, smiling. "I know it does."
"Like how you know that you'll make it out of here. Right?" Nora asked, as the missile heads up the Channel.
Mickey's flat…
"It's on radar." Mickey said.
Cabinet Room…
Rose, Harriet, Jared, Pyrrha, and Nora are emptying the cupboard.
"Counter defence five five six." Mickey said, his voice over the phone.
"Stop them intercepting it." The Doctor said.
Mickey's flat…
"I'm doing it now." Mickey said.
"Good boy."
Cabinet Room…
"Five five six neutralised."
The Doctor unplugs the phone as the missile heads inland over Seven Sisters.
"Okay, the missile is approaching the Thames from the south." Jared said, as he looked at the Doctor. "We're running out of time!"
Mickey's balcony…
Jackie, Ren, and Jaune watches it pass from Mickey's balcony.
"They have to make it out." Jaune said.
"They will…" Ren said, showing a bit of hope.
Cabinet Room cupboard…
"And we're done!" Nora said, and she entered the cupboard first.
"I can't believe we're doing this." Jared said, and he entered the cupboard with Pyrrha. "I love days like these."
"Of course you do. You love adventures." Pyrrha said, while the Doctor entered the cupboard next with Rose.
"Here we go. Nice knowing you lot. Hannibal!" Harriet said, entering the cupboard last and she closed the door.
The cupboard shakes then rolls through the remains of the building inside its steel shell.
Downing Street…
The Doctor pushes the steel door off and Harriet steps out.
"Made in Britain." Harriet said.
"Oh, my God. Are you all right?" Price asked, running up to Harriet.
"Harriet Jones. MP, Flydale North. I want you to contact UN immediately. Tell the ambassadors the crisis is over. They can step down. Go on, tell the news."
"Yes, ma'am."
Price ran away from Harriet.
"Someone's got a hell of a job sorting this lot out. Oh, Lord. We haven't even got a Prime Minister." Harriet said.
"Maybe you should try it." Jared said, excitedly. "Harriet Jones, Prime Minister. People will know who you are for years to come!"
"Me? Huh. I'm only a back-bencher." Harriet said, looking at Jared.
"I'd vote for you." Rose said.
"Now, don't be silly. Look, I'd better go and see if I can help. Hang on!" Harriet said, and she make her way down the pile of rubble. "We're safe! The Earth is safe!"
Whitehall…
"Sergeant!" Harriet said.
"I thought I knew the name." The Doctor said.
"So, who is she?" Nora asked.
"And how do you know her?" Pyrrha asked.
"Harriet Jones, future Prime Minister. Elected for three successive terms. The architect of Britain's Golden Age." The Doctor said, looking at the two ladies from Remnant.
"The crisis has passed! Ladies and gentlemen, I have something to say to you all here today! Mankind stands tall, proud and undefeated. God bless the human race." Harriet said.
TARDIS…
"Pyrrha!" Jaune said, walking up to Pyrrha for a hug.
"Ren!" Nora said, running up to Ren for a hug.
"Hey." Jared said, looking at Team RWBY. "Sorry that I worried you all today."
"Yeah. You were in such a dangerous spot. Argh, I don't know how you could be so reckless!" Weiss said.
"And you did make it out." Blake said.
"At least there's that, right?" Yang asked.
"You said that you're coming with us. To the Vytal Festival." Ruby said, handing Jared a bracelet. "Weiss made that. Out of what the Doctor had lying around in the TARDIS."
"Basically it's a bracelet that allows you to travel between dimensions." Weiss said, and Jared placed the bracelet on his wrist. "Well, universes."
"Okay, I'm hungry for some food." Jared said, entering the portal that leads to Beacon with Teams RWBY and JNPR. "See ya, Doctor."
