Skyler's Point of View:
"Rise and Shine ladies! Up and out your door for call." A male guard says. His name tag read Kyle Robin. He was a ginger with blue eyes. In uniform, he also had a navy tat. Faye looked like she hadn't slept a wink. Our uniforms were all grey, unless you were in protection. They wear black and are separated from us. Most people went into protection to get away from the other women.Faye had on a hoodie that Lexi must've lent her. She loved having the hood up but that wasn't something you did when you were mixed with the others. After call all the units were unlocked to go to the cafeteria, "Hey love bug, keep your hood down till you're back in your cell. Ladies always fuck with people who wear them for look sus." I explain. She nodded and took it off. "I'm exhausted." She yawns as we walk to the cafeteria. "Looks like bacon and eggs." Aurora says. Aurora had a pixie cut with red hair. Her eyes were light brown. She had a bubbly personality mostly but she had suffered with drug addiction when she first landed here. It was a nasty time for all of us, shes three years clean now. "Go ahead and sit down babe, I'll get your tray."I say letting go of her hand. Trish led her to the table and I got her food. Ivy came into the cafeteria and her crew got in line. I sat down next to Faye and set her tray down. "Well look at that gals Skylar has a soft spot after all." Ivy chuckled loud enough to make everyone go quiet. She stood up and walked over to our table with a smug look on her face. "Now there have been rumors about Skylar taking over as boss." She continued. She paused for a second while everyone whispered among themselves. Faye tensed beside me so I wrapped my arm loosely around her shoulder and chuckled. "Well I ensure you that she is not. Dear Sky already promised me no problems. Isn't that right?" She asks sitting down on the opposite side of Faye. "That's right, you know my conditions. " I say looking into her eyes smirking a bit. Everything was tense for a minute while we didn't break eye contact, then a smile spread throughout her face. "You heard her. With that said nobody is to touch a hair on this pretty things head." She said leaning closer to Faye and inhaling. "God I always did love the smell of peppermint." with that she stood up and did the rest of the crew. They left the cafeteria going to the Rec room no doubt. The Rec room had one Television, a ping pong table, Board games, paper with crayons, a old couch, and twelve circle tables. After breakfast everyone everyone is moved to the Rec room. "So where did you meet Skylar?" Foxie asked drinking her chocolate milk. "Two months after she got out she wondered into the same Library I work at and asks for a job." She tells. "A library? Really ?" Mitchell laughs. "I wasn't interested in the job, I was interested in the girl." I winked and kissed Faye. A girl with long curly hair walks up to Auroura and kisses her. "Ah Skylar, Faye meet Zoe. Zoe meet Skylar and Faye." Auroura introduced. "Nice to meet you both, I stay in unit D." Zoe says taking a seat. "You all have sixteen minutes before we head to Rec." Guard Robin says. "Let get going girls." I say as we all stand up. We walked to the Rec room, which was just two halls down. The walls were still a light pastel pink, although had been covered in grime. Trish lit her cigarette with a match while she stood against the wall. "They added a books in here too?" I asked. "I'm gonna go see if I see one that I like. I'll be right back." Faye says walking to the four carts of books. "She's important to you huh?" Lexi said smoking some of Trish cigarette. "Oh yea. Love of my life, that girl." I chuckle watching her concentrate on the backs of books. "Just be careful with her. A lot of people are talking, ya know? Shit you did before leaving still got some people pissed." She spoke low. "Fucks sake it's been a year." I say rolling my eyes. "Yeah but the problem is who you did it to Skylar. I'm not messing around, neither are these women. Does Faye even know about the last time you were here? "She said staring right at me. "I'll deal with the girl's. And as for Faye, don't you ever question what I do or don't do when it comes it her." I say clenching my jaw and walking way to Faye. My arm snaked around her waist and I pulled her into a hug. "What ya reading there mamas?" I asked kissing her forehead. "Found the Harry Potter set, I never really read the books. I've seem the movies though." She says. After we signed it out with the guards ws sat a table and she began reading them. Faye enjoys loosing herself in fiction, she says reading a book is just like being in an alternate reality. I use to stay up for hours while she read the Jack Sparrow collection just to watch how excited she'd get when something dramatic happened. Often I would find that I comforted her as well whenever she was sad about a character's death. I looked up and saw Ivy handing another prisoner snow. For a brief moment we made eye contact and she grinned, then she waved. I looked back to Faye and she was already reading. Each table had a puzzle so I decided to try to compmete what I could of it. This one had 430 pieces and was of Rapunzel. The image on the box had her in a tower with her hair blowing in the wind. The prince was half way up . I always thought it was a cheeky idea. "Where do we go after here?"she asked looking up for only a second. "Showers or units. They lock the units but not the cells during the day." I explained and she nodded beaming. Shes excited she gets to keep reading. "I'll be right back, I'm just gonna go get some paper." I say after getting bored with the puzzle. I leaned down to grab a few sheets when I felt a pair of hands grab the back of my neck then they threw me on the floor. Something ticked inside me, a old feeling I hadn't felt in forever. When I got back up I saw the culprit was Anne. She hadn't changed a bit. She was in her sixties but could throw a punch. Seems like they had the guards distracted. I laughed at her. "Oh Anne I miss you too." I say blowing a kiss. She ran at me but I was ready for her. I landed a blow to her ribs, then slammed her head on the table in front of us. When she stood up again she went for my face with brass,which was a big no. I grabbed her arm and snapped it back. After a blood curling scream she slid to the ground crying. I wiped my bleeding lip, leaned back down to pick up the sheets of paper, then went to sit back down with Faye. Everyone was watching but I had already shaken them off. Out of everyone Ivy's stare kept hold. The guards showed up and took her to the hospital unit. We were all sent to our units for call, nobody said a thing. Faye wouldn't let go of my hand after that, she still had the worst running through her head. "Because of the crap you ladies pulled today in Rec you'll spend the rest of the day in the units. As of now nobody is allowed in the court yard for a week." Morales says next to a new officer I hadn't seen. I couldn't quite read her nake tag but she looked like she was in her early twenties. "How about I read to you hm? For a bit." I asked. We were on my bed, she sat in between my legs leaning against me. "I would like that." She says pulling the white blanket over us. "Alright, first though I'm sorry you saw that today baby." I whisper in her ear. "It was self defense, you had do." She says kissing my neck softly. Afterwards I read her four chapters before she fell asleep. I laid there trying not to wake her for half an hour before there was a light tapping on the wall. "The girls in units f and L are asking if they can look for you to supply?" A prisoner named Kelly asks, I knew her from before. She liked cristal, so did her crew. They stayed blown with that shit. "No." I say closing my eyes. "Well the women aren't gonna be happy to hear that." She says a bit to loudly and it stirs Faye slightly. "I said no so fuck outta here." I say pissed off. She kinda jumped back then apologized before leaving. We had be awoken for call at 8:00pm and they did a cell check, going through our stuff. Everyone in my unit was cleared, i had yet to meet some of the girls though. Our cells were locked by 8:20, all the light had been off. "Have any of you hear Skylar sing before?" Fayes question rings through the unit. "No not really. Never. When has she ever sang before ?" Comments carried out throughout the cells. "Sing for us Sky." Faye asked. I knew it helped her sleep better so I did.

My voice rang throughout the halls. I got applause and cheering from the others as well. I played with the scrunchie I took from Fayes wall of them. It helped a bit whenever I ached for her. The night was long, time consuming. For some reason I could find sleep no matter how much I tried.
