Chereads / Tales of Northmere: Black-haired Stallion / Chapter 4 - Stealing paintings

Chapter 4 - Stealing paintings

The old Greek king took a puff of his cigarette and blows out the smoke, hitting Alejandro right in the face. His face turns from his usual smug, confident look to a disgusted and irritated look. I had to cover my mouth to stop me from laughing at his reactions.

He feels me shift and turns to look at him. His face then turns to a begging, if he could speak right now he would be asking me for a way to relieve him from this conversation. I smile, cheekily knowing exactly what he wants and then do the opposite.

"Tell me my lord, are those imported, or home grown?" I ask in my posh, princess voice, looking to the burning stick. He looks ever so slightly impressed by my knowledge, clearly not knowing where were from. He then continues to explain they're imported, how and from where.

Ally looks over to me in disbelief, the shock on his face once again causing me to stifle a giggle. The smoke from the intoxicated man in front of me almost causing me to choke.

The sun light comes through, as we're in the courtyard of this castle. The shining light bounces off the white tiles, causing an almost blinding effect. I look back at Alejandro to relieve my eyes from the blinding white tiles.

He sighs, hearing the man babble on and on about how his kingdom achieved their money status. You see, this man is the fifth in line to Greece's throne. He's sent for us, all the way from Northmere.

We were already at the harbour at the time, me and my lover were making our way to Spain. Where he's from of course, my Spain, sexy stallion. However, we were stopped by this man's messengers. Telling us he's sent for us and is willing to pay a large some of money.

My sexy stallion, however is looking very uninterested. He's never been the one for the talking parts of tasks but this Greece man is. Alejandro sighs and once again have to stifle a chuckle.

Finally Alejandro stops the forever talking, "Why are we here?" He asks, the maids here and there looking up at the new voice. Their eyes show lust and I smirk, placing my hand on Alejandro's shoulder.

He looks back at me and smiles at my affection, draping his arm loosely around my waist. The older male speaks up once more, "Ah yes, follow me." He says turning around, his white drape flowing flamboyantly. Alejandro turns to me and rolls his eyes at me.

After some following after this royal blooded man we end up in this hallway with many paintings hanging as such. We used to have a place like this in our castle back home. However all these paintings are by the same person.

"Raphael Reaburn." he says, studying each painting with awe. I looked and so all the paintings were of one woman, sure in different dresses, positions but still the same woman.

"Who's the woman?" I ask, my feminine breaking the silence, "That, my dear, is my sister. She died quite some time back." The Greek man said, I nodded, in awe at the amazing paintings. Alejandro, however looked to be deep in his mind, some place else.

"Tell me, how long have you been together now?" Basil, the Greek man asked, turning to look at us. Taking in another puff of smoke as he waits for our answer. "Over two years now with this pretty lady." He said, his eyes turning to me, much more interested now.

His eyes stopped staring deeply into my and flicked down to my lips, his grips on my waist ever so slightly tightness. I smirk and bite my lip, knowing just what it does. Our moment was interrupted by Basil going, "Two years? I see no ring." He said, flicking his eyes down to my fingers.

"You said you'd pay us, handsomely, with gold. For what, exactly?" Ally says, clearly irritated that our moment was ruined. The older man turned around walking down the hallway to one open space on the wall.

"There is one last painting, painted the week she died. Her husband, Raphael-" he says, refering to the painter, "Refuses to give it to us, my brothers and sister I mean." He says, taking another puff, now bothered.

"You want us to steal it?" My sexy, but now grumpy, lover asks. The royal man nods, "The rest of my blood line refuses to take the painting. Claiming it's unethical and cruel." They're not wrong, that's the last painting Reaburn has of the love of his life. If I had one last painting of Alejandro I would also not give it up.

"As you can see we had bought out the rest of Raphael's paintings but he just refuses to take my money." Basil says, with a slight, unbelieving laugh. "We'll take your money." I said with a smirk, well I wasn't lying.

"How much?" Alejandro asks, as I see him ready to up to price but what Basil said, meant we didn't need to. "Both your weight, in gold."

Ally nods and says, "Alright, we'll steal the painting." as he crosses his arms and shrugs. "I thought you'd say that but I need to know you won't just take my coin and scurry off." He said, turning all his attention to us.

"So if we don't bring the painting?" Ally asks and Basil replies with a shirt and,"I'll send some of my guards after your pretty little lady here." He says copying Alejandro's words at the end.

This, doesn't sit right with me but I interrupt Ally as he was about to speak, "We'll do it." I hold out my for the Greek man to shake, to seal the deal.

I can feel Alejandro stiffen at my words, not happy with what I said at all. I expected Basil to shake my hand but instead he takes my hand and places a kiss right above my knuckles.

With that Basil takes a turn and with a new joy in his walk. "I'm going to get some illness from all the smoke I just inhaled." I hear my lover grumble out. I turn to him and almost scream with excitement.

"We're going to make so much gold, I wonder what we would even do with it?" I said excited, bouncing as I stand but Alejandro looks at me with anger and disbelief. "I can't believe you!" He says as he stomps past me.

I frown, "What did I do now?" I ask, walking after him. He walks so fast that were already at the in door garden, with the maids, we were at earlier when he says, "First of all, you're flirting with that old man!" He says with a huff.

"I was not flirting, he was flirting! If I was flirting, I was flirting with you." I say with a scoff. He continues storming on, until we're outside beside our horses. "Then you take this deal, which could mean you become enslaved by some old bloke, with his disease sticks."

I huff, standing my ground, "Excuse me mister, but this is my body. I can do with it just what I want and if I want to flirt with an aged potato sack covered, just to laugh that he thinks he has a chance, then I will." I say with anger, not realising my words.

"So listen here Alejandro Valentino Luchador, if I want to accept a deal that could get me enslaved then watch me. I am not yours to own, you can't tell me what to do." I say, the wind picks up ever so slightly. Blowing my hair and dress, making me look bigger and angrier. Almost like mother nature showing, she's on my side.

He freezes up, hearing me use his full name. He sighs and turns to me, walking over to me. He pushes some hair that got in my face and sighs, "I'm sorry, Firefly-"

Firefly is the nickname he gave me after I said the rest were too focused on my looks and not anything else. He chose firefly, mainly because it has the word fire in it. Showing my burning desire to accomplish what ever I set my mind on.

He also chose it because of the light fireflies give. Saying I'm his light, whenever he struggles. I most definitely approved of that nickname.

"I know it's not my right I just can't help but get worried. You mean so much to me, my life would be so dull without you. I would just hate to loose you over some gold coins." He said, speaking full heart and I just couldn't help but forgive him.

I smirk and cup his face, kissing him, showing him he's forgiven. "We're about to get really rich." I said with a grin. He smiles and rolls his eyes and brings me in for another kiss. "We sure are."
