Lax is already deep inside the twilight forest as a continuous rustling can be heard, as sharp winds collide at huge 10-story tall trees, Lax was quickly running through the forest as he felt quite anxious and uneasy, he didn't know if the monster in his mind is the same thing that roams around this forest right now if it is then he will die along with Gabriel.
Lax runs as fast as he can, even though he felt tired he didn't stop as he knows that there's no more time to rest, and as he goes deeper and deeper into the forest he notices some claw mark in the trees as a sign of monster territories.
'No way, is that monster actually trying to make this place his territory?' Lax thought.
Moments later Lax saw was very brutal, the ground where litter by dead monster and people, the monster were ripped apart by half some people were bitten half they're also missing some limbs and as Lax continue to run around he notices a footprint, Lax has no other choice other than going towards it.
As Lax running around he suddenly stops, his hair stands straight up, and he felt very uneasy, 'Is this what you feel when you're about to die?' Lax thought. Suddenly he felt that he needed to hide as quickly as possible, it might be the instinct of his race 'Beast'.
Lax then carefully walk at a slow pace, step by step his uneasiness is getting stronger he felt that something or someone was watching him and as he arrives behind a huge tree all the uneasiness was gone, but he still felt nervous for some reason.
'What the fuck was that? What did I feel right now? Uneasiness? I felt that I'm going to die in a mere second if I'm not careful in there, is that a killing intent? Or just a bloodlust?' Lax thought, he was aware that he's not being careful as he runs around like an idiot in the forest, but he was desperately trying to find Gabriel and because of that he most likely about to die but survive for some reason.
He then relaxed, trying to erase his anxiety and fear because he knows that those will not help him at all in this kind of situation.
'Let's clear my mind first before getting to the high ground.' Lax said as he breathes in and out, after that without any hesitation he quickly but carefully climbs one of the trees while hiding his presence.
In this kind of situation, Lax was very thankful for that penniless hunter he met in the forest, because of him he learns how to properly survive in the wilderness, even hiding his presence was a walk in a park for Lax now, that hunter was even shocked that Lax learns how to hide his presence in an early age, but Lax in the other hand thought that it was natural since he was a half-beast, hiding your presence as a beast is a must.
The only problem is most of the money that he earned was a scam by that penniless hunter, but at least the things that he learned from him are very useful and worth it.
In just a moment Lax had already climbed on top of the huge tree in front of him, he then looks around trying to find a visual of what kind of monster this thing is and what Lax saw frightened him.
"So it's you, huh," Lax said to himself.
"Icrine. How the fuck did you get here?" Lax said as he immediately wanted to get down the trees, but suddenly a fast orange light shot straight into the monster aiming towards its head.
Icrine is 'medium' in monster height and it's about 10 feet tall, a unique and humanoid creature, it has six wide pine eyes, pointed ears, a large head, and largemouth with a countless sharp tooth. Its body is robust and huge, it also has a long heavy tail, Icrine head, neck, shoulders, and arms are covered in red shiny scales, while the rest of its body is covered in crystalline formations.
"Fire Bolt!" Shouted by a woman.
*BOOM*
Icrine was looking somewhere and currently distracted, but it senses something dangerous and look elsewhere and saw a fast bright orange coming towards him, Icrine then leans his left attempting to dodge the Fire Bolt but failed, The Fire Bolt still struck him in his head and due to that surprise attack, the damage it causes is greater than it imagines. The momentum of the Fire Bold let Icrine falls down to his knee.
"WRROOOOOOHH!!" Icrine roar as it falls down to the ground.
"Those are adventurer, did they come to exterminate this monster?" Lax said as he saw one of them wearing the emblem of the adventurer guild.
"Go! Strike it while it's down!" Said the guy wearing a full plated armor.
"Mage! Use your spell, bombard it until it collapses. Warriors if it's ever got up cut both of its legs, this monster dare to mess at our forest. KILL IT!!" He said as he raises his sword.
Suddenly numerous skill shot up in the air aiming at Icrine.
"Water Volley!"
"Flare Disruption!"
"Poison Frenzy!"
"Unholy Blast!"
"SHIELD!"
"Why did that guy cast a shield on himself? Is that guy fucking retard? His voice is even louder than then." Lax said.
"RROOOOORRR!!!"
Icrine shouts in pain and countless burn mark can be seen on its skin, but there's no show of them tearing off not even blood can be seen only burn mark and that's it.
"No way, how can that monster be so tough?" A random warrior said.
"Five of us shot at it the same time and there's not even a scratch on its skin?" A random mage said.
"I think it's only four of you shot it." A random warrior said.
"Yeah, the other guy cast a shield on himself, I dunno his retarded or something." A random warrior said.
"Ssh. Shut up!" The guy with full plated armor said.
They shut their mouth after hearing the voice of the guy and looks over to Icrine and what currently happening terrified them.
Icrine slowly stands up and his red scales are shining brightly and suddenly a faint white smoke rises from its skin and flame started to rose up, its eye is already red for being furious after the surprise attack but now Icrine is simply in berserk mode.
"This fucking monster is attempting to break through to another tier," Lax said as he saw what currently happens on top of the trees.
"I need to get Gabriel right now!" Lax said as he hurriedly came down and quickly runs towards a certain tree, Lax didn't care about Icrine since he's not the one who shot him, that's why Lax will not be its target it's the adventurer.
'You'll be my bait don't die on me now, wait until I save Gab, then I'll try and help you if I can.' Lax thought, he didn't care if they die or not, the only thing concerns him now is Gab's life. ( 'Gab' for 'Gabriel' if you didn't get it. )
Lax then quickly runs without care if the monster heard him or not since Icrine is not his concern, for now, Lax was quickly running in the distance in the back of Icrine, of course, Icrine saw Lax, but he didn't care and the adventurer also saw Lax running away in the distance.
"There's still a civilian in then forest? Fuck, Let's quickly finish this monster, or we will surely die after this monster reaches another tier." The Guy with plated armor said.
"Warriors! Are you afraid to die?" The guy said while wearing a huge smile as if he was enjoying this kind of situation.
'Here he is again, this battle maniac.' The other adventurer thought.
"Yeah, why not..." A random warrior said.
"What kinda lame-ass response is that?" He said.
"FUCK YEEE!! WE'LL DIE FIGHTING THIS MOTHA FUCKING BEACH, WE'RE GONNA FUCK YOU, ONE. BY. ONE. PREPARE YOUR ANUS YOU UGLY SONS OF BITCHES" One of the warriors said while laughing like a maniac.
"WAHAHAHA, Now that's the spirit!"
'Both of them really get along huh' The other adventurer thought.
"There's only 10 of us, 5 mages, 3 warriors, and 2 priests, the team really is small huh, anyway, the mage who has fire affinity don't use them, that guy is becoming an elemental monster and clearly it's a fire type, so your skill will not be as effective as before, just try to use some restriction spell, other mages who have affinity other that fire, use them efficiently, if you run out of your soul, were dead." The guys said.
"Warriors, find a gap and cut that bitch legs in half hahaha, don't recklessly enter the battle or you will die for sure, if you see an opening CUT IT! if you take a serious injury just let the priest heals you. Priest, you know what to do, if you find one of the warriors that can't stand up just go at it and heals them there." He said as he looks at his teammate.
"Are you ready?" He said as he smiles widely.
"Yes!" They said in unison.
"Good! GO!" He said, as he instantly uses his soul and changes it to 'willpower' he then focused his will on his feet and his sword he leans down bend his body backward as he was building momentum a red aura slowly shroud his legs to feet, and then he instantly shots forward destroying the ground on his feet and arrives in front of Icrine in mere seconds, even Icrine was shocked on how fast can this human be, arrive in front of him in just a second.
"Why does he always do that?" A random warrior said.
"It's his trademark, he was not called 'Eugene Owen: The Red Flash' for no reason." The woman said gleefully,
"What's up, you ugly bastard?" Eugene said as he clutches his hand on his sword and a red aura of will shroud his sword, Eugene then smiles widely.
"Take this you big ugly monster!" Eugene said as he holds his sword in two hands at his side while it's being shrouded by a deep menacing will.
"Eternal Cleave!"
