Chapter 4 - Out of Control

"Who are you to destroy the Kingdom's prestigious coliseum and bring fear in our peaceful kingdom?" The blonde knight's tone was noble and dignified as he stepped forward, leading the entire Kingdom's forces.

"We are the Chaos Profligates, who intend to stir doubt into the peaceful nation! And the start, would be now-" Before the light blue-haired cultist could finish his speech and seem to release the monsters, the blonde knight drove the sharp pommel of his spear of a flagpole and twisted it greatly. Roots of the earth come up from beneath the cult members and wrap around the monster's bodies, except for the hawk.

"I will not take anymore words from a person that wishes to disturb peace. Men, capture them and bring them to the Great Musician's chamber for interrogation!" The knight waved his free hand from his chest towards the cultists as he swiftly commanded his men that acted with great haste. However, as the flocks at least a few hundred soldiers inch towards their target the monsters threatened to break away from the blonde knight's earthly restraints. There was a trace of fear in the soldiers' movement, but they made their way at sword's length towards the cultists until the monsters successfully broke out of the sturdy roots that trapped them.

"Adam!" shouted the knight moments before the restraints gave out, giving the mass of living armor ample time to run to the the soldiers' aid and shield them from at least two of the mutated creatures. He held the beetle's horns with his shield while his free hand stopped the mutant dragon's tail swipe. The mutated hawk that emitted low, almost freezing temperatures rocketed into the sky and drove down instantaneously after gaining several hundred meters of distance in the matter of seconds at another portion of the soldiers' force.

"Crap!" Cassandra's amber eyes flickered and popped orange sparks of fire before she pushed her legs, her heels trailing with crimson orange. Her staff caught smoldering fire as she flipped forward to gain more momentum, flourishing her weapon and switching its hand from her right hand side and to the left and swinging it upward, colliding with tremendous, earth shattering impact. The precipice of the frost mutant hawk's beak and Cassandra's flaming staff flashed white, while the air exuded red orange and cerulean blue battling to overtake the stronger color.

"I won't let you!" Mei Ling dashed towards the lunging snake's open mouth, jumping with great momentum from her strong legs, giving the monster a well-aimed shot up its chin with her left leg. The head of the mutant snake jerked upward as it hissed wildly in outrage, calling in the thunderous clouds to help it smite down all that hurt it. Ye Qiu was merely standing there, fearing the monsters three times as large as him. How were Cassandra and Mei Ling able to face them? He looked at the mutant lizard that charged at another group of soldiers, his large body frozen and scared stiff. Before the lizard could hurt any of the soldiers, roots from below the ground seized the soldiers and removed them from harm, bring them back to the blonde knight's side.

"You call yourself a man when you cannot protect people?!" turned the knight to Ye Qiu, who flinched in terror from the male's voice.

"Subdue that mutant lizard before it escapes and hurts civilians!" shouted the knight forcefully out of annoyance and anger, fuming from Ye Qiu's indecisive and cowardly demeanor. His body still refused to move.

"Sir Johannes, the lizard!" warned one of the soldiers, with Johannes, the blonde knight, casting his stalwart gaze upon the mutant lizard trying to gain air by flapping its wings. The male clicked his tongue, ripping his flagspear off of the ground and untying the knot that acts as the seal for the flag of his spear, now brandishing its silvery gray motif with the symbol of Guild Myrna, the golden lion surrounded by a bramble of red thorns.

"Lend me your light, Aotrom, and pierce that who dare disturb the peace of our kingdom!" Johannes reversed his grip of his spear, ready to hurl and throw his javelin of a spear with the glaive of a spearhead, rays and orbs of light being driven all around his weapon. After a moment's passed, the lights around the flagspear completing in coating it in pure light with a tinge of light green, he threw the spear at the monster, a straight pillar of light forming from Johannes' hand trailing the path of his throw. The glaive head cut through the base of one of the mutant lizard's wings, it roaring in pain and crashing down onto the coliseum grounds with enough force to create a dust cloud all over the arena.

The flagspear pierced through the thunderous clouds and cleared the skies, rendering the backup by the snake entirely useless.

"Ye Qiu, please!" Cassandra shouted out in plea, knowing full well that her childhood friend is paralyzed in fear. The warrior put more strength in her flaming staff, deflecting the hawk's diving strike and rebounding it from her staff upward back into the sky. With the frost-inflicting hawk tumbling in mid-air trying to find its bearings, Cassandra stuck her golden tipped staff unto the ground and used it as a jumping spring to get up to it, her staff bending against her body weight.

Grabbing her staff as she was launched by it, she shot up the air dispersing some of the dust from the force of her launch and using her staff to spin around and build momentum to hit the hawk's neck. Sparks and trails of hot fire followed Cassandra as she spun sharply in the air forming a tempest of fire that struck down the frost mutated hawk like a hammer.

"Sorry for the wait!" After being ushered by his dearest friend, Ye Qiu felt the mental chains around his body break. Putting his right foot forward he struck the air, building the direction of force that will disperse the dust that was covering everyone's vision. A right straight punch positioned vertically. Both arms swinging in motion as he circled his body once.

"Hah!" sharply breathed the male throwing his arms out wide paired with a forceful stomp. It rivaled the earthquake prior to this incident. All of the dust was dispersed instantly. After that, Ye Qiu disappeared from his statue-like posture and drove a resolute fist against the beetle's carapace.

"Thank you." promptly spoke the black living armor, shaking the beetle's pincers off of his shield. The mutated dragon swung its other first onto Adam, but before it hit the towering dark knight he drove the lance mounted on his shield directly into its face, instantly killing it leaving nothing for resistance.

"This thing is slippery!" quipped Mei Ling as she backflipped against the snake's lunging coil. Its glistening scales crackled with electricity and its murderous fangs still intact. As dangerous as getting close against electricity would be, it was the girl's only option. She tensed her legs, ready to strike or riposte. The snake fell for her provocation, lunging again. Mei Ling jumped high into the air, twisting her body sidewards to angle a downward, spear-like kick. However, what she didn't expect was the snake emitting a large discharge of electricity around it.

"Haha! Oh no you don't!" As electricity was brought down on her, she turned into mist, nullifying the mutant snake's attack completely. Mei Ling never disappeared from her initial position prior to the snake's attack. The moment the electric barrier had finished its duration the snake hissed and opened its mouth for a last ditch attack, the girl dropkicked one of its fangs into its own mouth, then turning on the balls of her feet to chain another force-ridden kick onto the other fang and jumped off. The snake collapsed as it closed its mouth, stabbing itself in the inside in the process.

Ye Qiu drove another fist into the beetle's head, driving another concentrated and deadly strike that spread all over inside the mutant beetle, shattering its hard, hard carapace with two incredibly solid blows. The internals of the monster were smashed up as it collapsed on its stomach peacefully.

Moments after, the noise of battle died down. Johannes retrieved his flagspear by pulling on the tangible pillar of light that tracked its trajectory back to himself, surveying the area for the cultists who are nowhere to be seen. The mutated winged lizard and the ice hawk had both been incapacitated, while the snake, dragon and beetle had been killed in battle. Adam looked around if any of their soldiers had died, much to his relief that the most there were was injuries.

Cassandra, Ye Qiu, and Mei Ling helped with carrying and nursing the injured soldiers out of the coliseum while Adam had gone out to order a search for the cultists that slipped their grasp. Ye Qiu and Johannes were nursing people near each other.

"Intensely annoyed that it took you far too long to move to action, but great work nonetheless." Johannes tried to remove the palpable annoyance and sarcasm from his words of appreciation, yet it was far too instilled within it that his efforts were in vain.

"Ahaha... I deeply apologize, I'm quite weak when it comes to situations just now... So much that I have to rely on my best friend to snap me out of it." Ye Qiu laughed awkwardly.

"After this, I will have to request all three of you to attend the Princess' calling. You are to be rewarded handsomely for helping with the terrorism from the cultists." said the blonde knight.
