Chapter 67 - DEMENTORS

It was finally the last two weeks of holidays before I began my third year and this was also the time that I will have to once again begin my award winning acting to convince Dumble's that I was still playing the game according to his wishes.

It was time for Sirius to break out of the un-escapable Azkaban and cause a panic to run among the wizarding community.

Aunt Marge showed up on queue and unlike the first time, they did not dare lock me up but asked me to stay in my room as a form of request. I happily obliged.

I had no intention of keeping that promise, as without this incident I would not be able to scare the ministry and Dumble's.

That evening I appeared in front of the happy Dursley family having a pleasant dinner under the pretence of getting water from the kitchen and pretended to do it as silently and meekly as possible. This was because if I had shown a confident walk and demeanour in front of fat Marge she would have thought twice about insulting my parents and then everything else would be pointless.

As expected of fat Marge, she just couldn't help herself from cursing and berating the poor, tiny and weak Harry who had no one as support. This time I did not let her complete her sentences and directly caused her to blow up and float away like a balloon that has been released after a fair.

Because I was prepared for this outcome I had my stuff already packed and ready to leave in the very next moment.

As I was waiting for the night bus to arrive I saw the familiar shadow of a big black dog looking at me from across the road.

This time, instead of being afraid I waved it a goodbye and before he could react the Knight bus was in front of me and I hopped on without much fuss.

I still continued the act and made sure that the conductor believed I was trying to conceal my identity.

After some time the bus came to a halt and as I had expected the one waiting for me below the bus was the minister himself.

After the same talk once again with the minister I was told to enjoy my stay at the inn and that everything had already been paid for by the ministry. I was also told to limit my travelling to the alley for the next few days as the books for the next school year would also be given to me in my room, free of cost.

Hermione and I decided finally decided to meet three days prior to the school opening.

Hermione was accompanied by her parents and they had decided to spend the last three days in the alley itself. With them getting a room in the inn, I had some company for the last days of my vacation.

It was on the last day that I finally got to meet the twins in the inn.

They were as joyful as ever and had little to no worry could be seen on their faces as if they did not get how important this year would be for them.

The twins were sitting their O.W.L's this year and unlike in the start when the whole family had made up their mind that the brilliant streak running in the family regarding their academic performance at Hogwarts would sure to end on them, the last two results had everyone convinced that things had taken a turn for better and the streak just might continue and be only tarnished by Ron.

Mrs. Weasley was her usual worry self and was constantly fussing about the tiny details and things that needed to be bought in time. Unlike previous years, her concern this year was not the money. This was because of the lottery that they won in the holidays. It was never the case that Mrs. Weasley was stingy with her purse; it was just that the monetary health of the household always restricted her from buying the best of her children. Not anymore.

Mr. Weasley however was looking a bit concerned and while everyone was chatting merrily, he took me to a corner and spoke about Sirius. He once again intentionally let it slip past that Sirius was my father's best friend and my godfather. He feigned ignorance after saying all this and rather rushed me and everyone in the hope that I do not question him further.

It was first of September once again and I alongside Hermione and her parents once again found us on the glorious platform 9 3/4.

After a quick goodbye to her parents, we boarded our train.

Once seated, I quickly sent a small paper bird with our location to both Neville and Luna.

The train journey this time was a bit more fun with the company of genuine friends.

Deep into the journey our train stopped, the lights went out and a chill that reaches you very soul engulfed the train.

The one being I had been equally scared of as I was of Voldi in my first journey was about to board the train and traumatize me again.

The Dementors were here.

I could hear the panic that was running around through the train. Then began the scattered screams of students.

Our cabin was suddenly getting chillier with every passing moment and as panic began to set in the dementor arrived at our door.

The very being that was feared by the soul of every living being was standing inches apart from my face. The only difference between this time and the previous was that I had no sense of fear from it.

I had convinced myself that this time I would not scream when faced with this demonic creature.

It also helped that I was aware of the fact that with Remus in our cabin there was no way that the dementor could harm me even if I did not raise my wand in protection.

Seeing the dementor moving towards me, Hermione, Luna and Neville began to shout and this led to Remus finally stop pretending to sleep and cast an impressive expect patronum on the dementor.

Everyone except me was surprised that the teacher sleeping beside us our entire journey was powerful enough to defeat such a terrifying foe with such ease.

He smiled at me and gave us a chocolate bar each before moving out of the cabin saying that he had to check on the situation.

We finally arrived at Hogwarts and I was ready to begin my third year.
