The instructions in the manual were comparatively simple, you take the die place your thumb either on the upper side or the side indicated with a marker ( in case the die has more than six sides ), wait for a few seconds for the registration process to be completed, remember the different designs on your die, keep it on your person for the first hour, and after that you just double tap on the transformations you would like and keep it in your pocket. After you have completed the steps the transformations will remain depending on the quality of JOKER you purchased.
If you have selected a transformation which will last for five or more hours but want to cancel the transformation then there are two possible routes one can take. First, if you wish for a temporary halt in the transformation you can single tap on the selected transformation which will re-adjust itself for a single time for five minutes. Second, if you wish to completely negate the transformation then just double tap on the selected transformation and you return back to normal.
The side effect to such abrupt discontinuation in the transformation is the loss of chance. As it is mentioned in the manual every piece of JOKER come with specific chances for usage and thus any discontinuation by external measures reduces those chances by one. If you have a temporary discontinuation by tapping once, then it will not take away a chance but you can only do it once every chance and when you altogether discontinue a ongoing transformation then you lose a chance in addition, say you had a total of five chances, you use it once but disrupts it, then you will not have four remaining chances but three.
The minister had selected himself, his undersecretary, his advisor, the junior assistant and the special advisor for legislation to test out the products. The second batch sent to the ministers office was for the guards and desk workers. The minister had gotten a personalised JOKER through which he could get his hair look like it formed a crown, a hat, a cap and his eyes that could have the symbol of ministry and the color ranging from black, golden or grey.
The rest had received a basic version ( one with six sides and a single part transformation ). The undersecretary had picked out one that could transform her ears between six different shades according to the moods. The advisor managed to get one where he could shift the lips in various sizes and textures. The junior assistant got lucky in getting the basic hair JOKER and the special advisor received one which could shift not just the color of his eyes but also his eyebrows.
The various ministry departments had gotten the same basic versions with slight changes but the head of each department had gotten a personalised JOKER. The head of the Auror department got one where each transformation got him a dragon drawing on his ears and in his eyes which made him look that much more dominating. The head of DMLE got herself a JOKER through which every transformation of her hair was accompanied by a slight fire design at the tips and her eyebrows too having a flamed look, the color would vary according to the choice. The head of the department of magical games and sports got himself a JOKER that would paint his hair in the color of the national team and his eyebrows in the shape of brooms.
The students at Hogwarts were only given a basic version but it was more specific than the rest, for instance they could decide to change their ears to a book or change their lips to have varied textures. The teachers however got a ten sided die with two transformations per part and both according to their houses and their subject. The head of the house got the one where they could transform it into their house shade with the representative creature tattooed on it and the other with the subject tattooed. The rest of the different teachers did not have the house mascot tattooed on their transformation but in their subject transformation rather than text they had a symbol representing it, like the astronomy teacher had a telescope photo.
The daily prophet editor had received a personalised JOKER where his hair transformation would look like different types of quills at the ends and a sheet rest of the way, his eyebrows would look like a spring that is used to bind sheets and his eyes would look like a newspaper, his lips would have ink stain marks on a crumbled paper like background. The reporters only had a single transformation die and the normal workers had a basic die.
The people on the alley had all received a basic die with one part transformation in different colors and a lucky kid had received a full fifteen side JOKER at random. The gathered crowd was amazed once they witnessed the transformations.
The Goblins too got the die but instead of turning their facial structures into something else they all had their palms turn into galleons and the effects would last only five minutes. Goblins did not like wizards in the first place and it was only because this was Harry's product that they were even willing to test it out.
Along with the products every head had received the printed pamphlets to distribute. Once they saw the genius of the product with their own eyes the orders came in large quantities.
Harry, Hermione and the twins had already decided that they will hire upto a dozen wizards, hand over the process to make the basic models and the one's with a single part and then they will mass produce it. It was all done with the help of magical oaths and goblin binding contracts so they were not afraid of leaks. The twins were now responsible only for the custom orders. They had also contacted a wizard, through the goblins, to be their representative.
This representative was a muggle born wizard who was in a need of a job and so he was contracted. His job was to physically go to most stores and discuss deals so that they place the JOKER in their stores. The deals would then be sent to them at hogwarts and the negotiations will take place during weekends by the twins in Hogsmeade. The twins will only meet the hired wizard and not the shop owners.
After the first day of launch we had received close to five hundred orders for our basic JOKER and no less than fifteen for customised JOKERS, including the minister, his undersecretary, professor Flitwick, the editor of Daily Prophet and head of pureblood houses, who no doubt heard it from the ministry workers. The customised orders had a deadline of a week and the basics were being handled by the contracted wizards so the orders were manageable.
The JOKER had turned out to be a resounding success and now it was just a matter of keeping up the quality to the one that was promised. All four of us celebrated in the common room in the evening and then went to sleep to start anew the next day.
