Chapter Three

I bowed my head, "Mom, why didn't you tell me about her?" She smiled at me, "Well, I didn't know her personal."

She shrugged her shoulders, "I just knew about her and her son that is all."

Of course, Trevor would tell my mom about her.

My mom was like a second mother to Trevor. She smiled, "Have you met her?"

I nodded at her as I tense up knowing what she going to say next, "And?"

I shrugged my shoulders, "I just met her yesterday."

She squealed and all I could do is get off this call right now, "Mom, I got to go. I got eat then head out for practice, I have a game tomorrow."

She smiled at me, "I know. I will be there. Oh, and Jake?"

I looked up at the screen, "Mom?" She smirked, "She is a good mom and woman. I think she will make a great daughter in law." I shook my head as I lifted my finger to hit the screen, "Okay mom, I got to go. Love you."

She started to say she loved me when I hit the end button on the screen.

I pushed myself hard at practice as I was in the locker room when Gray looked up at me, "Man, What the hell is going that you are pushing more than usual?"

I looked up at him, "What you talking about, Coach?" He shook his head as he sat down on the bench, "Jake, Talk to me."

I sighed as this man has been giving me advice since the day I signed to the team. He was my number one supporter on the team, "It is this girl I met last night."

He rolled his eyes, "Here we go. Girl trouble." I shook my head, "It is more than that." He tilted his head, "What do you mean?"

I slammed my locker door, "Her son needs a bone marrow transplant." He tilted his head at me, "Okay. This is bothering, Why?" I shrugged my shoulders, "I don't know. I just feel this pull from the moment that I saw her." He chuckled as he looked down to my jeans, "More like your buddy there woke up."

I threw my clean towel at him, "Not the point." He chuckled as we walked out of the locker room, "So, who is she?" I sighed, "Sage Thomas."

His eyes went wide, "You mean Sage Thomas as the chick that goof ball can't stop talking about that interview him for a magazine?" I nodded as we walked into the parking lot, "That is the one."

He stopped walking once we got to the car as he looked at the stadium, "why don't you invite mom and son to the game tomorrow. We will do an event that people can sign up to be called to be tested for a match."

I smirked at him, "you can do that?" He wiggled his eyebrows, "Of course I can." I shook his hand, "Thank you, coach."

He slapped the back of shoulders, "I bet she worth it." I tilted my head as he winked as he ran off pulling out his phone.

I text Trevor to get Sage's information at the hospital to tell her the news.

He texted me it with a huge, 'you are the best friend in the world. She going to love you for this.'

I turned the key to start my car as I smiled; she is going to love me for this. I pulled off to head to Boston from Foxboro.

I pulled up to the valet parking of the Children's Hospital then got out of my car to throw the keys to the valet person, "Treat her well."

He perked up as he smiled, "Yes, Sir. I am a huge fan." I nodded at him as I slipped him hundred dollars, "You are not to tell anyone that I am here."

He nodded as he walked around my car, "Yes, I understand. You are my imagination."

I walked up to the information station when the reception looked up at me and screamed, "Oh My God. You are… You are freaken Jake Michaels."

I placed my finger to my lips as I told her hush, "I don't want the world to know that I am here. I am visiting a special friend."

She nodded as she told me how to get to Tristian's room and to the gift shop.

My phone rung as I looked up at Tristian when I answered the phone, "Hello."

I rolled my eyes as I knew who the voice was, Bill, "Hey there. I just heard about little man. Just checking in." I sighed, "Things could be better."

Bill sighed as I looked out to the hall to see a bunch of nurses rushing off, "Listen, I am going to try to save your job. They are not happy that you may need so much time to take away from your work."

I rolled my eyes as I know there is something to this call that I am not going to like, "Thank you but I feel like there more to this call." He chuckled, "I need a date."

I shook my head, "If I can't go to work then I can't go on a date." He sighed, "Don't make me do this."

I got up from my chair and walked away from Tristian's bed, "Don't make you do what?" He voice went low and harsh, "But it this way, No date, no job."

I shook my head as I started to cry, "Then I guess I better look for a new job then." He went to say something as I hung up on him. I jumped when I heard a voice, "Did that asshole fire you because your son is sick?"

I sighed as I turned around to see Jake standing there.

My god he was a god. Tall, silky black hair that was cut short, broad shoulders, and hazel eyes that glowed. He was big and muscular.

"Worst." He stepped forward as his eyes followed to my son's bed, "What is worse than being fire because your son is sick?"

I shook my head, "He want me to be his date." Jake shook his head as he tilted his head, "Sounds like you told him to fuck off." I nodded as I smirked at him, "Of course I did. I can't go to work then I can't go out on a date."

He nodded understanding as he stepped closer to my son.

"How is he?" Jake asked. I sighed as I looked over to him, "Sick, Very."

He nodded as he smirked at me, "Is he too sick to go to a game tomorrow?"

I shrugged my shoulders, "I have no clue. Plus, it is too cold."

He looked down at his phone then smirked, "Not from where you would be watching."

I tilted my head at him, "What do you mean?"

He placed the teddy bear that he had in his hand next to Tristian, "Owner's box. It will have heat and food for the two of you. Whatever you need it will be there."

He looked out into the hallway to see Tristian's nurse, "You can even have one of the nurses come with you just in case."

I shook my head at him, "Why would you do this for us?"

He sighed as he turned towards me, "The team is placing a sign up for those that willing to get tested to see if we can find you a match for the transplant."

My eyes went wide as I threw my arms around him as I cried, "Are you serious?"

He chuckled as he wrapped his arms around me.

Damn he is so fucking big. I can barely reach his shoulders and his muscles are toned as hell. "I am serious. I just got the text that everything is set."

I shook my head as I blurred out as I pulled away from him,

"I could kiss you right now."
