Chapter 57 - THOMAS INSTRUCT MRS. MARVA TO TAKE CARE WITH CHRISTA

Mrs. Marva observes how Thomas ensures that she was comfortable in the back seat before we leave the apartment the Friday afternoon.

Unable to stop looking at them both, 'The change from last night to now was phenomenal.

And why didn't I think about lighting the hearth to keep the room warm? I know I was afraid seeing how she was trembling, but I should have thought about that in the first place.

Still shocked from the tremendous transformation from last night to now, and seeing his concern for her is unbelievable.

Yet she seems to want to be alone and away from him. He looks so happy but I am still so perplexed. Being confused with both of their appearances,

Noticing the way she was sleeping so soundly as if she had taken sleeping pills. And why is she not feeling cold and trembling as last night?

What had transpired? What brought about this drastic change. Even she had a very good breakfast just like Wednesday morning.

So what was the reason or cause for her dehydrating so drastically by the evening when she was so good in the morning?

Seeing the drastic change, and from what he said. Last night she eat all the dinner we fix her.

I know babies cause certain reactions during pregnancy. But she is so calm when he is around her. I have heard how women work by the moon, but Sir, wants' me to take care of her.

But how will I be able to do that, when I haven't the faintest clue how to go about doing that?'

Glimpsing at him as he drives, 'That smug look is still on his face as though he has a secret.'

Shifting her gaze as he turns to face her. "Mrs. Marva, you know that my business takes lots of my time and Mom seems to dislike Christa.

So I am depending on you to keep an eye on her. I will give you my room key so when she is resting you make sure the door is locked. I don't want anyone going into my room."

"I understand Sir, but will she get sick like last night?"

"I am unaware of any reciprocation, this pregnancy may develop, we will just have to deal with that as we encounter each symptom, I just want her to be happy and comfortable."

"Sir, you seem to know how to handle her symptoms." Observing the twitch on his lips before he responds.

"I am scared just like you and I depend on the Lord to give me direction so we must always be praying."

Entering the house, Thomas told Mrs. Marva to fix her a chicken soup, while he get her settled in.

Once in the room, he rests her on the bed then gets the bags from the van. "I see you are home." His mother said seeing him with the bags.

"Yes, Mom and I will appreciate it very much if we don't have any misunderstanding. Christa is home and resting, I have given strict orders for no one to go into my room.

I will hope that you will heed my instructions, and mom this time I am very serious.

I am home because Christa insisted, but if I leave a second time it is no returning, I promise you that."

Noticing the shock on her face but Thomas could not help her, she needs to know he is very serious.

When she did speak she ask, "Thomas can you tell me, when did I become so misconstrue in your eyes Son?"

"Mom, I am sorry you see it that way, I never plan my life like this. It seems as though you are having difficulty accepting my choice.

I know you feel you have lost control over me but the truth is, I had given you leverage for years.

Now my priority is to my wife. The mom that does not mean I will neglect you or the family. I love you but I must start living my life and build my own family.

As I told Christa the day I proposed this was not how my wedding was supposed to be.

But the situation at that moment change the course of my life, and I have accepted it as my destiny.

If you could do the same then life will be peaceful and more pleasant. Mom Christa makes me happy and we love the same things.

I know beyond any doubt you want me to be happy, so I am asking you to give her a fair chance."

Thanking God Mrs. Marva came when she said, "Sir, the Mistress soup is ready."

"Thank you, just give me a few minutes then bring it up."

Cynthia said to Mrs. Marva as soon as Thomas enters his room and close the door.

"Mrs. Marva, you were disloyal to this house."

"I am sorry Madam, but I was ordered by the Boss to attend to the Mistress. I hope you understand, now if you will excuse me he is waiting on me."

"You hear that Sam, I feel like a stranger in my own house."

"No, my dear you choose to feel that way, my eyes are blessed to see and hear my son is happy. I have accepted her since I took her to church that first day.

I believe it's time you start setting an example for others by attending church with us on Sundays.

Maybe the Lord is allowing you to be restless so you will remember when we had now married."

"Sam, please try not to awaken those sad and hurtful memories. I had shelved those hoping never to surface again?"

"Honey, tell me something, when you see Christa does it remind you of yourself when we had now gotten married."

"Don't be ridiculed, Sam?" Hearing footsteps we both turn around, "Mom I heard Tom is no longer living here?"

"And where did you hear that Jerome?" Sam asks.

"Well, I was talking to Carla and Lester."

"I see, and it seems that news pleases you because you sound very happy Jerome?" His father replies.

"Dad, I was thinking now that Tom has left, can I return home?"

"Has something happened between you and Larissa?" His Mom questioned.

"Not really, it's just that we are having some problem paying the rent so she is staying with her parents."

"Have you lost your job, Jerome?"

"No Mom, it's just that there's so much to do with so little money."

"And how much is your new salary now Jerome?" Thomas ask.
