-A few minutes after the old man left, in the palace-
The old man walked around the palace and wanted to desperately find someone.
"Where could she be?"
After searching a few rooms he had an idea and proceeded to follow his hunch in the search of the person he was desperately looking for.
And after only a few seconds he had found her at the exact place he had thought of. It was one of the highest points in the city, a view from the top over all of Raiken. He was going towards the person standing on the balcony and looking down onto Raiken, observing all of the different activities, which were simultaneously happening in all of Raiken.
It was her favorite thing to do at this time of the day. At that time everybody in Raiken was busy doing all kinds of different things and at that time of the year it was almost always sunny and the sun was shining down onto the city, covering it in a pleasant colour, perfectly representing the feelings she felt at that moment.
It was one of the only times she would really be able to let her repeating everyday life rest down and focus on the little things in life, like the different kinds of jobs all of the workers do.
Because of those reasons the old man normally tries to not interrupt her under any circumstances, but it was a special occasion and he didn't even think about that at the moment.
The girl turned her face towards the old man and her White her was flowing in the wind that suddenly came up, blowing it away while it was constantly changing the colour due to the sun shining on her hair bathing it in a golden colour that appeared and disappeared on her again and again.
Her calm gaze was changing due to her curiosity about the reason of the old man seeking her out at this place at a time her normally wouldn't interrupt her. Her deep blue eyes were emitting some kind of expectation that even she herself didn't know where it came from.
"Princess I have news that are probably going to interest you."
The old man seemed a bit different than normally, so the princess got interested about what could be the cause of her the old man searching her out.
"Master, something that would cause you to come here at this time, what is it? Is it again about the academy? If it is than I will only say it again, I have no plans to-"
The old man couldn't hide his excitement and interrupted the princess, which he normally would never do.
"No, no princess. Well it has something to do with the academy, but that's not the main point, I just met a boy, which would probably interest you a lot."
The princess was a bit confused and didn't really get it at first, so her voice was still didn't change.
"A boy, who do you mean? Which boy could be so important that you would-"
But then she began to realize it and without really knowing the reason herself and not noticing the change in her voice she began to sound a lot happier and full of anticipation.
"Is it about the boy I told you about a few months ago? Is it about Yori?"
The princess reacted just following her instincts and her heart began racing.
She had been thinking about the two times she saw him a lot in the past months, more so than she would ever tell anyone, not even her father. She herself didn't know the reason, but she told her master about him and told him to immediately tell her if he was seen again.
She was too embarrassed to tell him the truth, so she told him that he was a childhood friend, who she saw again after a long time and that went out to train in the forest out of Raiken.
The one time she had actually met him she was kind of disappointed about his strength and thought it was just a coincidence at that one time their eyes met, but after that she just unconsciously found herself thinking about that time again and again, so naturally she was extremely happy to hear about him again after more than half a year.
Maybe she would be able to finally clear out all of her feelings that she couldn't explain herself, that was what she had hoped for for a long time.
"Yes princess, I met a young boy that looked like he was 14 or 15 years old, he told me that his name was Yori Tsuyoku and he had a big sword at his back together with a bow and a bag. He also looked he had been training really hard somewhere, but there was something that makes even me a bit confused."
"Hmm, what are you talking about. What could make you confused master, he couldn't have been an imposter, after all I only told you about his name, so no one would know and although he didn't have a big sword when I met him he could've just found or got it while he was travelling and training."
"Well, you said he was weak, right princess, not much stronger than a normal boy at his age, right princess?"
"Well, yes, but while training for more than half a year it wouldn't be unnatural to get stronger, so what-"
"It wasn't that he just got a bit stronger. When saw him he was getting approached by a few thugs in the streets, at that time I didn't know who he was, but I was going to help him after observing for a bit. But then he took a step back from them and looked in my direction, hundreds of meters away. I didn't make any sounds or something it was like he could feel where I was."
The princess was getting what he wanted to say, but wasn't really sure if that was all.
"He saw you, couldn't it have been a coincidence? After all you didn't let him feel your strength did you? He could've just looked for a way to flee or something like that and then saw you."
"Well I would've thought that too, but he kept looking at me for a few seconds, like he wanted me to come to him and and when I used my wind magic to come to him he seemed to be able to follow me to a certain extant, even when using quite a bit of my speed. And when I stood there he didn't get intimidated, but seemed to know that I was stronger than him, I offered my help to him, but he declined and said he would get rid of the thugs himself."
"Well did you help him or did you have to save him, against multiple grown man even after a few months he should've lost shouldn't he?"
The princess felt like she was missing something, but couldn't quite grasp it yet.
The old man told her how I had defeated them in detail and while he talked the princess began to understand.
"... But the scariest thing is that although he didn't want to kill them although they themselves wanted to rob and kill him he fought them while he looked like it wasn't dangerous at all. He played with them and he looked like he had fun while fighting them and after he didn't even show any sign of exhaustion."
Now the princess was also a bit curious about him.
"But in just half a year to be able to grow so much stronger, did he get any great opportunity or something else, otherwise I really couldn't explain-"
"I thought that too... at first. But then when I took a closer look at him I could feel that he was on the verge of being able to use magic without having a mana crystal or a weapon with one. The potential of that kid, I am honestly a bit terrified by it. It almost seems like he isn't supposed to be here or, no never mind what I just said."
The princess was now finally able to fully grasp why her master would be so excited.
"But master, did he say where he went or-"
"He's already here."
His master began to smile at the look on the princess's face, which was suddenly turning red.
"Wait master what do you mean?"
"Well he's outside of the palace... We shouldn't let him wait anymore, should we?"
"What. Wait I can't just go meet him now, you just told me he was back and now you want me to meet him?!"
"Well if you don't plan on going to the academy with him then I guess you can stay here."
The old man stood up and began to hope that his plan would really succeed.
"Wait isn't today the last day before the new year?! Hmm, Ok I'll come with you. But if I don't like the academy I will leave it whenever I want, understood?"
"Sure, princess."
And then the master and student walked down together.
The princess was still angry at her master for putting her into such a situation, but she was so excited like she hadn't been in a long time and finally being able to meet him again got her hopes up to finally get to know the weird feelings she felt.
And although nobody knew it at that time those two, from completely different worlds, would be bound together by a force that could only be described as something close to fate.
