Chapter 29 - No time to rest

After stepping outside I couldn't rely on my eyes, because the light just hurt too much so I used my senses and absorbed everything around me.

"So this is the real world."

I was able to hear an incredible amount of different sounds and my brain would've probably not been able to process everything if I would've just been given these senses. The foundation is arguably the most important thing, so if my brain wouldn't have slowly adapted to all of my enhanced senses in the cave it wouldn't be able to take everything.

But now I am able to process every sound in my surroundings, from the flow of water in a few kilometres distance to the steps of an ant a few hundred meters away, it was simply an unbelievable experience and I would probably not be able to describe it someone, who can't experience it.

But the biggest difference isn't even really my enhanced sensed, but rather the ability to feel the life force of every life form around me. In the cave it was only little insects not even worth mentioning and of course the goblins, who in comparison had way more life force, but it was still not much at all. But out here outside of the cave I can feel some beasts with particularly strong life forces.

"Well It could be a good idea to get some exercising and it seems they have already smelled me."

Although they were no doubt dangerous and seem to already head my way they are too fast for me to outrun them. I could go back into the cave and probably easily take them out in the dark, but it wouldn't be as much fun would it.

I walked towards the river, my first goal and as I was walking they were also following me. I'll have to fight them with my eyes closed probably, there isn't enough time for my eyes to get used to the bright light, but it should be okay to fight them without seeing them and it would also be good exercise against really difficult opponents.

I was waiting at the river and drank some water while they were coming closer and closer. They didn't try to secretively approach me, so I approached them and we met on half way.

"So, you're here to challenge me, aren't you?"

They communicated in their own language , different from the language of goblins, so I couldn't understand them, but they sounded kind of expecting. Then they just threw something in front of my feet and seemingly waited for me to pick it up.

"Oh a sword, interesting."

I could tell from the vibration of the ground, when it fell down that it had to be something quite heavy, also it smelled metallic, so I was quite certain it was a sword. I picked it up and it was a sword at least 30 centimetres longer than the katana of mine, which had broken in the cave and also it was thicker, so all in all it was heavier than the katana, but not too heavy, because I had of course also gotten stronger in the cave.

I was not too sure why they gave me a weapon, but I had an idea.

"You want a fair fight?"

I knew they weren't going to understand me, but they didn't really say anything for a few seconds, so I was kind of confused, but then the surprised me a bit.

"Fairrr!"

They were definitely not human, I could tell from there strong smell, that was nothing like a human's and from the vibrations everytime they took a step. They probably all weighted more than 300 kg, but were still in good form. Giving me the sword was definitely honorable, but honestly just dumb and could easily result in their death, well they must think I as a lowly human would not have a chance of defeating them alone.

"Well then come at me!"

"Karr!"

They approached me in an actual formation, one came right at me and the other two were approaching me from my left and right sight right behind the first one.

"Ahhrrr!"

The first one, the one in front of me swung his sword with all of his might from over his head. I knew that if I got hit by that strike I could easily be sliced in half, so I shifted slightly to the right as fast as I could. I was well aware that after I did that the one on the right would instantly attack me and as predicted I could feel him preparing an attack from right behind me. So I waited until the best moment, when his slice would still be pretty weak, grabbed my sword with using all of the strength I had and managed to block his sword by swinging right at the top of his sword.

"Hio?"

He was without a doubt surprised and he had to take a step back because of the force from my attack. And I used that moment to push him further back with all of my might with another quick slash, which he had to block again with his sword. Now he was wide open on his right side and I slightly adjusted the placement of the sword in my hand to elegantly cut off his head, by using my whole speed, which he was completely not expecting.

Now I had to immediately duck down because I knew the first one, who tried to attack me me would try to slice my head in that exact moment. I followed the wind pressure and his foot placement on the ground and knew I was right. My whole plan was basically the same I used against the group of goblins I fought a few minutes ago, I just had to not get surrounded, then my chances on winning would increase drastically and my plan was executed perfectly. The last one of the three attackers was unable to do anything, because I changed my direction, so that the first one would always block him, so it was basically only a 2 vs 1 instead of three against one.

While quickly bringing distance between me and the first attacker I jumped back while turning around in the air to face him, but I made sure to jump only so far back, so that they wouldn't be able to attack me both.If they were smart they would wait for a few seconds to regroup and then attack me together, but they were filled with too much rage, seeing their ally beheaded, as they could think logically in that situation.

Now I finally made use of the reason I wanted to fight at that spot, the ground was now filled with dust that good accumulated by our fight and I grabbed a bit of it from the ground and threw it into the eyes of my enemy.

"Ahhrr!"

He was getting even angrier the longer the battle lasted and his other comrade was still not able to do anything to help him. He wasn't able to see anything but still tried to hit me with the sword,I could feel his movement and easily evaded that swing. Now my last opponent was getting extremely furious, because he had to watch his allies getting easily killed by someone, probably less than 3 times their own weight , so he moved around his comrade, while we were fighting . Although he couldn't really see anything the first enemy I had been fighting since the beginning tried to strike me down with all of his strength. But after fighting them for only a few seconds I could tell they weren't experienced and hadn't really fought against opponents like me before.

Now it seemed like I was caught in the middle of the two enemies, but that was exactly the position I wanted to be in. I ducked under the swing and instead of trying to get away I used both of my arms to support the swing of my opponent and directed his attack in the direction of his ally. Both of them were now completely confused, but weren't able to do anything because the strength of the swing I supported was too much and he had to use all of his strength to stop his swing.

He tried to stop, because his comrade shouted something at him, probably that he would hit him and while he used all of his strength to avoid hitting his comrade I swung my sword for the third time and sliced of his arm and it flew a few meters away from me.

"AAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhrrrrr!"

He had probably never been confronted with such pain before, so naturally he couldn't think straight anymore and then tried to follow his rage and swung with his other arm at me, which was definitely a bad decision. I used my sword and swiftly cut off his second arm, it was too much for him and from all the pain he was falling right in front of me, he had lost consciousness and I wanted to evade, but then I had a better idea.

I caught him and although I was exhausted I was filled with adrenaline and while carrying him I moved away from the last opponent. I quickly tried to execute my plan and pushed the heavy enemy I carried in front of me right at the last opponent. Without thinking a lot he took a few steps backwards to evade his unconscious comrade.

With that my plan was almost completed. Positioning myself to where I was standing right now actually had another purpose, the weapon that flew away when I cut off the arm of the monster gave me and idea. I kept the place of the weapon in mind and tried to somehow get him to step there and it actually worked. He tripped over the weapon on the ground and was now falling backwards.

He probably expected me to jump at him with my sword, but I wasn't there, in fact I didn't even move from where I pushed his comrade at him.

"Game over."

With these words I threw the knife, which I had kept in my pocket all this time right at his head using all of my strength. He couldn't react fast enough and the knife cleanly went into his head. I felt good winning the fight, but then all of the exhaustion was too much for me and I was close to losing consciousness. I quickly stabbed the unconscious last enemy that was still lying on the ground to make sure he would die.

Then I fell down to the ground unconscious.
