Chapter 5 - Chapter 2.5

3rd Person's POV

After an hour of Arashi playing with his sister, and Mr. Tungsten checking-in and reviewing the rooms, Mr. Tungsten calls for a meeting in his room. Arashi carries her sister and immediately reappears in his "father's" room, while the rest catch up in a few minutes. One-Shot and Eagle-Eye spreads the curtains across the window and Michelle places some devices at the corners of the room making it soundproof.

Mr. Tungsten rolls a metallic ball across the floor until legs form, and a hologram appears. Each representing the ambassadors and principals of a different sect of TWS schools from various countries.

Arashi's POV

"Lieutenant Arashi, codename Raiden, one of The Great Seven, the inheritor of Raiju, salute!" commands Father.

I quickly stand straight and salute in front of them all. All their eyes fix at me as they expect a dominant image of discipline from their officers. We start the meeting with my report on the Italy incident. I further explain the details about the new recruitment and the suspect's Key and Style.

"I see. Thank you, Raiden. You're loyal service and never ceasing of significant results made a very irreplaceable weapon for us," compliments the principal of the TWS University of the European Sect. The other principals and ambassadors nod in agreement. Bowing to show my gratitude, I thank for their compliment.

"Now, for the primary reason for this meeting is to propose Lieutenant Arashi 'Raiden' Uesugi to be an undercover in the TWS Highschool of Asian Sect. The ambassador of the Asian TWS University Sect in Japan has reported suspicious activities among students that may relate to the rebelling organisation of the Rogue Arachnia. Another report concerns about the downgrade of the students. Discrimination and pride has increase bringing their performance below the TWS standards," explains Father.

The ambassador of the Asian Sect proposes to the rest of the principals and ambassadors for me to be sent as a transfer student. A teacher, one of the top TWS soldier in the Asia Sect, will help me with this mission. Before they conclude the meeting, they ask me if I need anything.

"I need Michelle by my side for this mission and I want to personally bodyguard my sister. Although additional assistance for my sister is much appreciated, sirs," I bow down once again as I tell them my conditions.

All of them give a hearty laughter for my requests. The leaders bother not because my desire is petty and simple. Right after their laugh, an emergency announcement barges into our meeting from the World's Magic and Science Development. Professor Takasaki, the head of the Asia Sect of WMGSD, divulges about a Queen's Gate: Level 2 that will appear in 2 weeks in Kyoto, Japan.

"Is this true, Prof. Takasaki? We haven't had a Queen's Gate that is above Level 1 in a year," states Father.

"The data that we gather from our satellite about the mana waves never lies, nor fails, Mr. Tungsten. Please forgive me for this sudden report," bows Prof. Takasaki.

"No, you've done well. Arashi and his men will complete this event. Any objections?" questions Father. The rest of the men in this meeting slowly shake the heads as they agree. "Then this meeting will end."

The call ends and Father pats my head while he apologises to disturb my 3 weeks of rest. I assure him it isn't a problem for me. He then gives his thanks and leaves the room. My sister then jumps on my back, about to ask a question.

"Onii-chan, what's a Gate? Is it the same as a fence?" my sister asks curiously.

"Not really. They are a portal that connects two different planets, and even other worlds. Each of them sends mana waves with sequences before opening. Thanks to that, it serves as a warning for us to prepare for the unexpected," I answer.

"Are all of them the same, onii-chan?"

"No, in fact all of them fall into different categories ranking from the weakest, Gate E, to the most dangerous ones, Queen's and King's Gate. They have different settings: open field, tower, and labyrinth. Most of it can be predicted and tracked from the mana waves and sequences that the Gate releases," I pat her head as she jumps on my lap.

"But..., when did it all started though? Can it stop forever? It sounds terrible."

"It all started when a meteorite containing the runes and beasts. As they land, the runes releases mana waves in a particular sequence, making it like an antenna for the Gate," I explain.

"Oh! I heard about it in my class! Then the decomposing meteorite loosens its seal, freeing all the mana spirits and beasts, except for the Guardian Beasts, who remain until a capable warrior meets their qualifications, right? And you're one of them, onii-chan?"

"Sonotori (You're right), that's why this world is divided into three human capabilities: The Magicians, Warriors, and Neutral."

"Ne ne, onii-chan! If the problem is about these runes. Why don't we throw them away? Then no more problems, right?"

"Yes, that's true. A lot of groups have been protesting to destroy them, but humans are too selfish to let go this prized possession that helped increased this world's development...," I sigh.

"Are you tired?" she hugs me.

"I was, but seeing you energize me, ya know," I smile while she smiles back at me. Slowly, she then falls asleep within my lap. I leisurely brush her silky, fluffy hair with my hand. I then signal Michelle with my eyebrows to open the door. She nods and helps out as I carry her to Michelle's room.

When I quietly exit and close Michelle's door, my father taps my shoulder and passes a USB drive and some documents to me. He then directs me to his room. After closing his door behind me, he orders me to take a sit.

"These are your actual father's documentary. Study his movements, personality, and character. You should be able to disguise your bloodlust in the school through this. Can you do it, Arashi?" he asks.

I scan through the documents and give him a nod. Showing my index finger, my father gets the details that I'm able to do it in a day. Leaving his room, I read the documents while walking to my room. Upon entry, I place the USB and papers on my desk and head for the showers.

After the relaxing downpour of warm water, I advance once again to the important papers about my real father, who died while protecting me and my mother. Watching my dad in his teenage years, I study his personality carefully and replicate it into my own. Frustrating for the starting few hours because of my dad's unique personality, I overcome it in the next day.
