Chereads / Rise Of The Phoenix / Chapter 4 - Chapter 3

Chapter 4 - Chapter 3

Theseus had asked Matt to do research before heading to the club to meet Dylan the next day on the twins and Leon Phoenix, but other than Dylan, only Zara's name came up on the website. Her name was on the list of students at Imperial College in London as a Degree student. Other than that, they got nothing.

"She must have been fucking smart," Matt muttered looking at her college photo.

"What are you talking about?," asked Theseus.

"She's in her third year in college and she's only eighteen," replied Matt, looking at her achievement list.

"Bloody hell, no wonder I couldn't find her after all these years," said Theseus, "She must have left school after the first time I saw her,".

They got ready for the club with Theseus's cousin, Freddie joining them, and a few hours later, they arrived at a club called Legion and flashed their ID to the bouncer who was guarding the entrance door.

"Mr. Phoenix is waiting for you in the VIP area Mr. Balthazar," said the bouncer after glancing at Theseus's ID.

Theseus nodded at him and together with Matt, Jake, and Freddie, they entered the club. At once they were greeted with dark colorful lights, with people dancing on the dance floor. They followed the sign that said VIP and found themselves in front of a staircase with a metal railing. A bouncer stood in front of it and when they reached him, the bouncer simply nodded and stepped aside to let them up. There was an opening at the top of the stairs, comfy sofas lined up against the wall, a railing perch for people to look down.

There were four men and a woman sitting in one of the sofas, drinking bottles on the coffee table served with two packets of crisps. As Theseus and the others approached them, one of the men noticed her and stood up.

"Mr. Balthazar, pleasure to meet you," said the man.

"You know who I am?," asked Theseus.

"We did research before the meeting," said the man grinning, "I must say, you had a quiet reputation,".

"You're not the only one," Matt mumbled, making the man laugh.

"I'm Dylan," said the man finally introduced himself before turning to look at Matt, "And it's nice to meet you too, Mr. Jericho,".

Dylan ushered them to join his company and introduce them one by one.

"This is my wife, Megan; my brother, Theo; and my other family members; Ben Zane and Shane Flanagan," he finished introducing his clan.

Theseus was a bit disappointed that Zara wasn't there but he masked his face and nodded at all of them politely. They sat on the sofas facing each other after the waiter arranged it and started to talk business.

"So.. INTERPOL huh?," Theo smirked, "This should be fun,".

"Another thing to add in the resume," said Ben as he drank his whiskey.

"This is why we have you, Ben," said Dylan, "Let's talk business,".

"How much weight is inside the cargo?," asked Shane as he took out his notebook, "And how long is the container?,".

"Let's just say that there's about fifty tons of something and it's a normal size container but with few extra securities," said Theseus.

"Are they fragile? I mean like easily break? Like a glass?," asked Shane, scribbling in his notebook.

"No, you don't have to worry about that," Jake replied this time, glancing slightly at Theseus.

"Of course we have to worry about it," said Megan for the first time, "You're paying us ten million Pound so we're going to make sure that the cargo inside is in a good condition when you opened it,".

"But of course, we need a deposit first, Mr. Balthazar," said Dylan, "Half of the payment should do it,".

Theseus nodded in understanding and started asking for Dylan's account number to transfer the money. He had a feeling that he's going to get satisfied with their work. They discuss more about their ideas on how they are going to get the cargo and finally Dylan agrees to let only Theseus, Jake, Matt, and Freddie to come to their base the next day, and accompanied by one of his brothers to escort the members of the Hunter. After the meeting they said goodbye and the Hunters went back to their mansion while the Phoenix stayed for a few hours to enjoy the night.

====================================================================

Theseus was the first person to get ready the next day. He waited next to the car for the others and finally sped off outside the gate of his mansion. They finally reach a secluded area and wait for one of the Phoenix gangs to fetch them. As they waited, Jake finally noticed a green Audi TT reaching them and parked in front of them, the driver's door opened and Leon stepped out and went to their car, bending down at the driver's window.

"Think you can keep up with me?," asked Leon, grinning at Freddie who was driving.

"We're not racing, aren't we?," Freddie frowned at him.

"We might be if you're interested," replied Leon.

"Another time, kid," Theseus growled from behind the seat.

"Alright, your loss," said Leon and he turned to walk back towards his car.

But Leon ended up driving at average speed as he led the Hunter to their base. They passed by a small town until they reached a dock facing the big ocean. Fishermen's boats were seen in every place and there were few people who recognized Leon's car and waved at him as they passed by. As they reached near an open beach, Leon took a left turn into a lane that can barely fit for two cars. They drove deeper until they reached an abandoned factory with few more buildings next to it including a large runway and big ramps were arranged by it. Rows of cars were parked near the ramps and there was one tank of Nitrous and another tank for gas.

Leon parked his car in his spot and showed Freddie where to park his car. As they got out of their car, Dylan and Theo came out from the entrance of the factory to greet them, grinning as they shook hands.

"Welcome to the Order Of The Phoenix," greet Dylan.

"Like in Harry Potter?," asked Matt.

"Yeah, our sister came up with the name, she's a fan," said Theo, "But our version is a bit better,".

"Come on, we'll show you around before signing the contract," said Dylan and started to walk inside the factory while the others followed.

Theseus can feel his jaw dropped as they stepped inside. The outside looks like it was abandoned for centuries but once they stepped inside, everything has changed. The walls were covered with blue wallpaper, and there was a living room with few black leather sofas arranged to face the large flat TV screen. There was a girl sitting on the carpet studying at the coffee table in the living room.

"We call this the Common Room, again, an idea from our sister," said Theo, "And that's Raven Davis, another family of ours and Leon's girlfriend,".

The girl gave a small wave and beamed when she saw Leon walking towards her to join studying. On the other side of the room, there was a meeting room which was separated by glass walls and a glass door. Next to it was another set of glass walls and there was a man with a pair of headphones wearing a glass inside. He has a gun shooting at a target that was moving from left to right.

"That's Steven Lee, my brother in law, my wife's little brother," said Dylan, "He's more to house painting, if you know what I mean,".

"You have an assassin in your company?," asked Theseus as they watched Steven didn't miss a target.

"Just for emergency," replied Dylan, "Steven is an expert in martial arts, he and my wife had full training when they were still living in China,".

On the other side of the factory, there was another set of glass room where there was a sign says 'The Gym', and next to it there was another glass room where there was a grand piano in the corner, few guitars arranged on a stand, a set of drums, a keyboard, cello, and two sets of violins.

"Yeah… We don't have to explain that one, most of us have interesting hobbies," said Theo.

"And that's my office," said Dylan pointing at a dark tinted glass room where people can't see from the outside.

They walked further and came to an area where there was a long wooden table with benches, fitted for thirty people to eat. At once, there was a delicious smell wafting inside the room and the sound of women chattering coming from a set of glass sliding doors that were open.

"And that'll be the kitchen," said Dylan.

Two women step outside carrying hot food in a tray each. One was Megan, and the other one was an Arabian woman wearing a hijab. She blushed as she saw Theo who was smirking at her.

"Marhabaan ya habibati aljamila," said Theo in Arabic as he quickly helped the woman and took the tray from her hand. (Hello, my beautiful love

"Marhabaan bik aydaa," replied the woman, smiling at him. (Hello to you too

"This is my girlfriend, Meera Akbar," Theo introduced proudly.

"Just friend, actually, he's just love messing around with me," Meera rolled her eyes at him.

"Oh come on, babe," Theo whined at her.

"Just shut up, and help us serve," said Meera as she walked back towards the kitchen while Megan chuckled.

"Na'am ya habibi," replied Theo and he followed her to the kitchen, leaving his brother leading the Hunters to the office. (Yes, my love).

"Well, let's get this over with, then we can have dinner," said Dylan as he sat down on the chair behind his desk, while Theseus and Jake sat in front of him, and both Matt and Freddie sat on the sofa.

As Theseus looked over the contract, there was a sound of a car engine outside and moments later, Ben walked inside wearing a suit and carrying a briefcase.

"Looks like my lawyer's home," said Dylan as he waved Ben to join in the office.

Ben enters inside and drops his briefcase next to Dylan's desk.

"Hey man, how's your case?," asked Dylan.

"Tiring.. And I'm starving," said Ben, "What's for dinner?,".

"Meera's cooking Kabsa for us and her Iftar," said Dylan, "And Megan's cooking Italian,".

"Bloody hell, I don't think I can wait any longer," said Ben rubbing his tummy.

Ben opened the mini fridge near Dylan's desk and took out a bottle of soda and started gulping the drink as he watched Theseus and Jake reading the contract.

"I guess everything's in order," said Theseus finally after ten minutes, "Looks like we are now an ally,".

"Looks like we are," Dylan smiled and handed him a pen to sign.

After the signing, all of the men exit from the meeting room and head towards the dining room when suddenly there was a loud rumble of roaring engines coming from the outside.

"They're back," Leon smirked at his brothers.

"About time, it's going to be Iftar soon," said Meera.
