Hendrick's POV
I chased her and managed to pull her back before she could reach the staircase and hugged her.
"I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry," I apologized to her, "I'm just worried. I know you're capable of protecting yourself and Ethan,".
Her body was stiff and she didn't hug me back. Her face was expressionless. She pry herself from me and look straight in the eyes, slowly nodding.
"Serena..," I tried to call her as she walked away.
"Can Ethan stay?," she suddenly turned around to look at me.
"What? Yes.. This is his home too," I told her.
She turned back towards the staircase but I pulled her hand to face me again and held out her ring.
"Give it back to me when you finally get your senses," she replied grimly at me before snatching back her hand and going downstairs to the meeting room.
