I woke up to my head pounding like hell.
I felt extremely drowsy.
"What the hell happened" I whispered to myself.
Then it all came rushing to me.
Oh yeah. Me crying, then screaming and yelling. Ugh. I internally cringed at my behavior.
I mean it was his fault partially to come banging at the door in the morning and ask about me and push my boundaries.
It felt as if somebody had ripped my heart apart.
You may think I am exaggerating but no it felt just like that.
I sighed and looked around ...What the.
How was I still back up in my room?
'Happy late realization dumbo' my subconscious screamed at me.
Did Stephan take me back here after I fainted? To be honest I half thought he was going to throw me out of the house.
I touched my arms to feel something creamy on it. I looked at the bruises to see a white layer of cream covering them.
Because of which the bruises had started fainting.
'Maybe he isn't that bad after all. Maybe he was just a bit taken aback to have a company suddenly.'
I felt ashamed that I screamed at him. I mean he just wanted to know about me even though his words were really rude.....
I took the covers off me and exited the room. I went to the living room to see Stefan cooking something in the kitchen.
I walked towards the kitchen silently and placed my hand on his shoulder and whispered "Hey".
The thing that happened next was the funniest thing I had ever seen in my life.
Stephan screamed like a little girl "Aaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!" and then jumped in the air.
I burst out laughing. I was laughing so hard that I had to lay down on the floor to calm myself down.
Stefan kept a hand on his chest and began breathing deeply.
After laughing for about 5 minutes I finally calmed down.
"Never Ever do that again," Stephan said in a shaky voice.
I nodded warily.
"Whatcha doing ?" I asked to remove the awkwardness in the room.
"I am bungee jumping ''He said annoyed.
Why is he such a jerk!!!!!!
Ugh, I am going to lose my mind.
"Can't you see I am making breakfast?" He said in an obvious tone.
"So do you have a plan?" I asked.
"Yes". Can he more specific?!
"And what's the plan?''
"My friend Jake has my truck," He said.
"When I will get my truck back, I will drive you somewhere and then everything will be fine and back to normal"
"When is Jake coming back with truck?"
"In a month"
Somewhere inside I was grateful of Stephan. If he hadn't helped me I surely would have been dead or would have been in the clutches of Flint which means Dead either way. I was so lost in my thoughts that Stephan had to tap my shoulders twice to get my attention.
" I am so sorry. I completely zoned out"I apologized.
"I asked if you wanted some water to drink"
"I would love some water" I hadn't realized till now that my throat was burning.
Stephan gave me a huge glass of water which I drank in 3 huge gulps.
"Thankyou Stephan"
"It's the least I can do," He said and shrugged.
My stomach grumbled loudly. I felt my cheeks heat up.
"Of course you are hungry"
He served me some sausages, eggs, and toast which I ate hungrily.
"How often do you go to the town?" I asked curiously.
"Once in two weeks"
He sat down opposite me and ate his breakfast.
''Is it alright with you if I stayed with you for a month?''
"Do I have a choice?" He looked up at me.
"You could have told me to leave"
"Listen, the moment you entered my cottage I had to help you. If I hadn't helped you would have died and the blame would have fallen on me."
I rolled my eyes at his bluntness. I changed the topic quickly.
"Do you have a job to pay for your needs?" I asked making a conversation.
"I look after my cottage".
He didn't really answer my main question but I decided not to press it.
"Why do you live here? I mean in the middle of a huge forest"
"I got too much attention" He whispered.
"Attention. How?" I asked.
I don't know why I had the stupid urge to ask him questions. I wanted to know why he was so mysterious.
"Why do you ask so many questions? Goddammit! " He exclaimed loudly and left the room.
After that I kept quiet.
