Chapter 13 - Episode 3: Alert (4)

"Fei...!" Damian shouted out in a loud cry as he made his way over towards her in a fever. However, before he could reach her in time, the giant ball of slime had landed onto the ground, quickly causing the ground of the ruins to tremble.

Unable to keep his balance, Damian fell down to the ground. "Ack-" Though despite the fall, he averted his gaze over towards the scene before him. Watching in worry as the giant monster that seemed to be of six feet stood in its place.

"Gloop!" The ball of slime continuously jumped up and down in a frenzy, madly quaking the ground around it as it slowly cracked, near breaking the floors.

"...this is unsettling," Roy calmly spoke out while he gripped onto his spear tightly. Moments later, he leapt up into the sky as droplets of water began to form around him, which then shaped into what seemed to be replicas of his weapon.

In the next second, he meticulously swung his spear amidst mid-air, quickly causing a swirl of water to flow out seamlessly. Then, without wasting any time, he thrust the replica spears alongside the streams of water directly against the slime.

As the rushing waves collided with the slime, it let out a loud roar. "Glooop!!"

"...hmm, this only seems to have done a dent on this guy," Roy calmly assessed the monster's defence as he steadily landed onto the ground. Momentarily after, he began to charge in for another attack.

"Gloop!!" The slime, angered by Roy's attacks swiftly turned towards him as it then took a large leap in his direction. While doing so, the monster protruded out small bubble-like liquids as it quickly popped.

"...tsk," Roy frowned at the sight of the bubbles quickly turning into rain. If it was as he predicted, the rain was made of acidic substances that could burn one's skin. Thus, in his calculations, Roy neatly weaved his spear around in an arc, causing blue waves of water to appear.

[ Mana Arts - Allaying Hydrokosis ]

"Is this all you got?" he taunted as he cleansed the acid, turning it into a normal liquid.

The monster jiggled in anger as small substances began to detach from its body. "...gloop!" As if he was yet done with his attacks, small-sized slimes began to form from the matter that the body had leaked, quickly, the slimes rushed over towards Roy.

"...right," Roy tilted his head at the scene in front of him whilst giving a slight chuckle. "You're a giant slime. You can do that." In preparations to clean the waves of monsters before him, he entered into a battle stance. However, before he was able to do anything, he was quickly interrupted by a loud roar that resounded from behind the giant monster.

"Arghh! You damn slime!" The voice cried out in anger.

Hearing the voice, Roy's eyes turned to glance at the direction of it as he quickly noted Fei, leaping up into the sky with her spearham in hand.

"You'll pay for this!" Her cries continued on as she approached the slime. Quickly, with her hammer moving in a trajectory, she swiftly struck the slime with all her might and not a second later, a thunderous roar that clamoured throughout the ground followed after.

[ Mana Arts - Storming Razor ]

"Oh?" Roy raised his brow in amusement as he caught sight of the attack. "So Frey used mana alongside her skills eh? Heh, wonderful." Smiling in joy, he rushed forward with his spear in hand whilst drawing his weapon in a circle, instantaneously slashing at the lesser slimes around him.

From behind, Damian soon dashed forward, following with his attacks. With ease, he vaulted into the air as he swiftly unsheathed his twin-swords. "Hey, Fei!" he shouted in anger as he made his way towards the slime, quickly hacking at it upon reaching it. "Didn't I tell you to not do anything rash?!"

"Agh- Yeah, yeah!" Fei shrugged off Damain's woes whilst piercing through the lesser slimes in her way. "It's perfectly fine! I didn't get hurt at all!"

"It was perfectly fine?" Damian clicked his tongue as his eyes lit in a bright yellow aura. "You got nearly crushed by a giant slime!" Moments later, his swords drew two lines against the slime, quickly knocking it back slightly.

"Hey- I dodged it!" she responded confidently. "That's all it counts!"

"...you two," Roy sighed helplessly. "Maybe it'll be best if we speak of this after the battle? There is still this situation at hand."

"Gloop..." Annoyed by the constant barrage of attacks that it received from the group members, spikes began to pop up around its body. Soon after, the spikes shot out as it rained down onto the group. "Gloop!!" Alongside the attack, the monster simultaneously created bubbles which caused acidic drops to fall from the sky as well.

"Ack- right, right, we'll talk about this later!" Fei quickly replied as she evaded the incoming attacks parading down on her. However, because of the number of attacks that rained, it wasn't possible to avoid them all. Thus, a few spikes, as well as acidic droplets, grazed her skin and body.

"Argh... you!" Fei who was still in the midst of fighting against the lesser slimes quickly switched into her strike style. Momentarily after, she smacked the enemies away, sending them over towards the giant monster.

Following up with that, she leapt forward and, with her spearham in hand, quickly struck down the hammer to the ground, causing the ground to shake and break.

[ Steel Break ]

While Fei was initiating the attack against the ball of slime, Roy and Damian were busy cleaning up the smaller slimes in the vicinity.

"Ugh, how many slimes can this guy make whilst taking all those hits?" Damian complained.

"Hmm, if it wanted to, this monster could create an army," Roy replied. "However, that's to that point." Turning over towards Damian, he nodded his head. "Shall we join in together with Fei and end this?"

"Right on it," Damian nodded in reply. With their weapons gripped tightly, the two men jumped high up into the sky, as they began to send multiple sorts of attacks over towards the slime.

With Fei's onslaughts of attacks and their combined force, the giant monster was quickly pushed back into a corner.

"May you rest in peace," Roy muttered out as he thrust his spear forward, piercing through the ooze of slime at its body. In its last moments, the slime yelled out in a cry, however, all it could do was but turn into grey-ash, leaving behind only a blue mana crystal.
