In this quiet and dangerous mountain, the sound that could be heard was of a beast running up the mountain, the grunts and heavy breaths of the beast was enough to scare anyone away.
The beast had soft, black fur with a few trophy scars on it, his long limbs moved in sync as he ran and the dazzling shade of blue eyes were sharp, searching for any meal to be devoured.
On a nearby rock, a white baby polar bear was stuck, the little white fluff went a little too far in his playtime and wandered around the forbidden area, he now regrets why he was so obstinate despite his mother's warning.
The bear let out silent grunt of pains as the foot which was stuck in between the rocks started to bleed.
The smell of fresh blood was quickly smelt by the beast and he ran towards it to see a small, white bear groaning.
The poor baby's heart nearly stopped when a black beast came and started staring him down. He knew this was the end of his short life and started reminiscing the good memories of his mother.
The beast slowly started to walk around the bear as he tried to figure out a solution to the problem. He was stuck between a rock and a hard place as the Were and wolf were having a disagreement whether to save the bear or to eat him up.
The wolf let an annoyed grunt when his Were finally won but unknowingly to the little bear, the growl the big, black, beast let out was a sign that he was ready to eat and break his little self so he started trying to remove his foot because he decided he wasn't ready to die yet.
The wolf growled when the little bear started moving too much, making the injury to open up. The bear quivered when he heard another growl and shut his eyes tightly when the wolf moved closer.
He felt a gush of air on his foot which was stuck and he opened his eyes to see that the wolf had removed the big rock to save him instead of devouring him as he thought.
But when the wolf moved towards him, his poor heart fell again as he thought this was going to be the end. Unexpectedly, he felt a soft and wet surface on his foot and opened his eyes once again to see that the wolf was licking his wounds so they could heal faster.
He kept staring at the wolf, flabbergasted at the kind beast. The wolves were known to kill anything they see and the bears weren't an exception in that case so when the wolf saved his little self, he had to double check if this was real or just one of his daydreaming fantasies.
When the wolf licked the little bear's wound, he quickly turned and ran back, if not, he would have eaten the little thing up.
The wolf name was Talon, an extraordinary creature that has undergone so many battles without fear, although, the hardening of his Were's heart was taking a toll on his strength and vigour.
Unlike his Were, he was gentle, childish and cheerful.
He let out a purr of excitement and Xavier smiled at the childish behavior of his wolf. Then all of a sudden,
'Hey, Xavier!!!' The voice passed through their mind so suddenly that the wolf almost lost his footing.
'Ren, how many times do I have to tell you to stop barging into my mind that way?' The small ease that Xavier got from the run was gone at the sudden intrusion.
When a wolf gets accepted into a pack, it is the Alpha's duty to mark them to create the pack bond and it is through that bond that they can reach out for one another in times of danger.
But the mindlink between two or more Weres is created when they have a special bond together, the can speak through their minds and reach out for one another, if one was to get hurt and injured, the other would feel the pain. So when Ren found out the mindlink bond was created with his cousin a decade ago, he was ecstatic.
Xavier frowned the entire day when they found out about their special bond. Ren kept on coming in and out of Xavier's mind which made him uneasy. Ever since then, Xavier had shut Ren from his mind but once in a while, Ren breaks the wall and enters his mind suddenly.
'Oh come on, I figured out you were missing me and I was bored' Ren's voice rang all over Xavier's mind and he let out a scowl.
'I have never missed you in my life nor will I ever be missing you. If you are bored, go find somebody else to torment and leave me the hell alone'
'Is that Talon? Hey, Talon. How are you, boy?' Talon howled and wagged his tail in response.
Xavier rolled his eyes when Ren blatantly ignored him.
'Hey Xavier, do you think I should shave my hair off?' Ren asked.
'I don't give a bloody fuck if or not you are bald, Ren. All I ask of you us to get out of mind. I left the castle to get rid of annoying little you and now you barge into my head like a snake'
'I think I will look pretty good with a low cut. Don't you think?" Ren ignored his cousin one more time.
'If you barge into my head one more time, I am going to fire you as my Beta and castrate you' The Alpha threatened before he shut off the connection.
Talon's nostrils raised in the air when he smelt raw and pure blood being spilled on the white snow of the mountain. He moved forward and followed the stench as Xavier's curiosity sparked.
No individual is ever seen on this mountain, so for him to smell blood, it means something wasn't right and there is trouble.
Talon's paw stepped on a cold and pale body whose red eyes has been stilled to shock, he leaned in further and sniffed the body.
He was putting on black fighting attire and a cloth was around the lower half of his to conceal his identity.
What would a Vampire's dead body be doing on this side of the mountain? Xavier thought as he walked down the mountain to find out more.
He found three more bodies, all were young Vampires, some died by the cut of a blade while others blood were sucked. The confusion increased as he stood, trying to figure out the mysteries of all the dead bodies.
'Let's leave', Xavier demanded but Talon didn't budge and kept looking at a particular direction.
'I said let's leave' Talon disobeyed the command of his Were and went further down the mountain. He stopped at a small hill and looked down, without hesitation he jumped down the hill to land on a pithole.
Xavier felt his heart jump when he smelt her. She smelt of sweet rage, enticing despair and excruciating pain, he could feel the way her chest rose heavily and fell down harshly.
Just a sniff of her made his hardening heart to jump. Talon turned to his right and laid his eyes upon the most beautiful creature his eyes has ever seen.
The long, curly red locks was spread out all over the snow and her voluptuous chest was rising and falling with a silent rhythm. Her curvy body was hidden behind a heavy armor which most thought was too heavy for a female.
When her jade-green eyes looked up to meet his dark shade of blue eyes, it was like the entire universe vanished just from one look. They held each other's gaze for a terrifying long time as they both tried to figure out the mystery behind them.
The green and blue swirled all over as he took a step forward. His first instinct was to take her life and he grabbed her slender neck under his paw as he raised her limping figure up the air.
He ignored the way his entire body was vibrating just from one touch of her skin and the way her petite figure looked so breathtaking on the air.
All he knew was that she was a vampire and he must take her life.
She wrapped her hand around his wrist and tried to claw his paw away from her neck as hot tears poured out of her beautiful eyes.
He shook his head vehemently when he felt his heart trying to stop from doing what his kind was supposed to do when encountered with the bloodsucking vampires. The debate between his head and heart was so fierce that he staggered backwards.
He narrowed his eyes and looked up to meet her jade-green eyes, he stilled when no single amount of fear was seen in her eyes as she stared him down.
Her pride was to be kept intact till her last breath, she wouldn't beg anyone for mercy no matter what and especially not from a ruthless wolf like him.
'Plead' a request so earnest that one would think he was begging her to plead for her life.
'Plead and I will spare your life' Xavier begged of her inside his mind.
"I wouldn't plead for mercy" she spat so menacingly that a dull ache spread over his chest.
Then his bones went in shock because ofthis unfamiliar feeling that spread over his heart. The great Aloha who had never once encountered fear was now scared of taking the life of a Vampire he met just a few minutes ago.
He could have scoffed at the irony of the situation if it wasn't as serious as this.
He let go of her neck and her body fell on the snow as she quickly lost consciousness and drifted into a dark slumber.
