Chapter 2 - Ch. 2 My Past? (A)

It was always the same. The school's speakers would come alive and the rough voice of the principal was broadcasted into the mostly empty halls. It was near the end of the last period and everyone was on the edge of their seats, waiting for the final bell to ring and release them from the building. His voice crackled as the old speakers quietly screamed.

"Attention students. we are going into lockdown. This is not a drill. I repeat this is not a drill."

The classroom came alive with chatter before the teacher hushed the students and ushered them into the corner, the principal's voice replaying over the speakers.

The room was dark when the screams started echoing through the halls. Doors slammed open and closed as the screams of students grew. The last period was math and no one dared to approach the door as the banging came and went several times. A voice accompanied the banging this time. it was always the seventh set of banging that came with high pitch screams.

"OPEN UP! PLEASE! OPEN THE DOOR!"

Her voice was muffled by the door and many of the students' eyes widened with fear. A blond girl launched to her feet and ran at the door only to be caught by the teacher.

"LET GO! WE CAN'T LEAVE HER OUT THERE!"

"ARE YOU AN IDIOT?! YOU'RE GONNA GET US ALL KILLED!"

A male student chimed in.

"I CAN'T JUST DO NOTHING!"

The girl wrestled herself loose and unlocked the door to the classroom as the teacher stumbled back into a desk. The other girl burst through the doorway, her clothing soaked with blood, and her eyes lined in a thin outline of red that no one had noticed. She collapsed onto the floor, shaking as another figure shoved their way into the room. This one was a lot more violent. They had already completely turned and they weren't a student.

As the new figure threw it'self at the girl on the ground it slumped to the ground it a loud thump. A group of older students, the baseball team, walked into the room. One of them stopped as they noticed him.

"Axel! There you are! Move your ass, the car is outside."

He grabbed his hand and pulled him into the hall. The walls and floor were covered with splatters of red and bodies here and there. They ran through the halls and ran out the back exit into the parking lot. The parking lot was more populated with these, people... Zombies. The word came to him as he looked out at them.

The next part was much more of a blur, he remembered that they got into the car and went home. They argued about something, leaving. Wait... who was this person? He couldn't remember his name. His brother? That was it, he was his brother. But what did he look like? He looked at his brother's face, but it was only a blur of skin and hair. His brother ended up winning the argument and they got back into the car. He had a knife tucked away while his brother put his bat into the backseat. They made their way to a large building... an.. office, building. It was hard to remember the names of some things. He wondered why.

They took the stairwell which was mostly quiet, until they got to the nineteenth floor. A horde of Zombies burst through the door to the nineteenth floor. He tried to turn and run but he all he remembers is the pain that came after that, then there was nothing. No sound, no light. It was dark when he woke up... yet it wasn't. But that didn't make sense. He stood and looked around but saw nothing. He couldn't remember what he was doing there. what did he remember? He was almost 15, he knew that. He also knew that he was in his first year of high school. He knew he had a brother, and a father, and a mother. But he couldn't remember exactly what they looked like. They were all blurs of faces. He would try to remember, then he'd get a sharp pain in his head. Then he would wake up.

He had been having the same dream more often lately. But according to what people have been saying, it's been over two years since then. Since the start of the Zombie Apocalypse.
