Blair Kingsley POV
I reached my room and headed in for a nice warm shower. By the time I was out, it was already 7:30 and my stomach started to grumble so I headed downstairs to the kitchen.
When I saw Elis instructing the maids with the food I realized that I had forgotten to tell her.
I walked closer to the long table where the food was being set. I will never be able to adjust to the amount of food that is presented every time we sit to eat. The amount of food served here could possibly feed the entire country.
"Hey Elis I'm so sorry I forgot to tell you that Dad won't be making it for dinner. Don't let all this food go to waste though. The leftovers can be distributed to the maids working overnight.", I said.
"I know Mr. Kingsley won't be joining us today. We have a guest.", Elis said.
Guest? I wasn't told about any guest. I was about to ask who it was when he walked in.
Kaden's hair was dripping wet and he was wearing a tank top and sweatpants.
I tugged on Elis's top and pulled her towards me.
"Why is he here?", I whispered to her.
"Mr. Gabriel's house was recently attacked, so Mr. Kingsley suggested that Kaden could stay here till things had calmed down." She replied then turned away to talk to Kaden.
Of course. Why wouldn't Dad suggest that, Uncle Gabriel is his "bff".
"Ah yes, Sir please be comfortable. Today we have two cuisines being served which are your favorite. Indian and Chinese. If you need anything just hit the buzzer under the table and I'll be at your service. Enjoy." Elis said as she walked out of the dining hall closing the door behind her.
There was an awkward silence.
I was just sitting there poking my noodles while Kaden on the other hand was perfectly fine, he showed no signs of awkwardness.
I thought of shrugging it off and focusing on my plate because I soon realized while judging him I was staring at him like an idiot. I hoped Kaden didn't notice any of that but I was wrong.
"I guess I look more tastier than all the food here" he said, not looking at me but he slowly lifted his gaze from the Biryani he was devouring, of course with a sneaky smirk. Oh how I wished one day I could wipe it off his ugly face.
"Please I have better things in life than to sit and look at you." I said stuffing noodles in my mouth.
Kaden burst out laughing.
"I was just talking generally...I never said anything about you looking at me but aw princesa, I'm touched." He said overacting as usual.
This son of a b-
"Do you know where Mr. Kingsley is?" He asked changing the topic.
I shook my head. "No, he didn't tell me where he was going. All he told me was that he might be late." I replied
"Oh...so wait one more thing, are you actually going to take over in your Dad's place?" He asked.
"Yes Kaden, for the billionth time. Yes I am and there's nothing you can do or say that will make me change my mind." I said.
He just raised his hands in surrender.
"Fine it's your deal. I'm just trying to state the obvious and try and protect your stupid life." He said.
I just rolled my eyes at what he said.
"This ain't stating the obvious it's more like-" The door flew open. Elis stood there, her eyes wide in shock.
"Mr. Kingsley's been in an accident." Her words hit me like a concrete block. I glanced at Kaden who was in disbelief.
I rushed out of the dining hall towards the front door. I picked up my guns and put on my holster. I didn't care whether Kaden was coming or not. My Dad's safety was all that mattered to me.
I rushed outside towards the car park and I got in the first car I could see which was a Range Rover.
I connected my earpiece.
"Hello. This is Blair Kingsley, I need to know where my father is! Over." I said.
"This is Keagan on the line, Mr. Kingsley's car is no longer on our track list. We think that something has happened for it to go offline like that, we have tracked the last location it showed before disappearing. It has been sent to you." The second he finished I saw the location load on my car screen.
"Okay don't waste anymore time, get the squad together and start doing YOUR GODDAMN JOBS!" I said raising my voice.
The passenger seat opened and Kaden jumped in.
I didn't say anything. I just sped off towards the location.

20 minutes passed and I was still on the road.
"Blair, calm down you're going a little rash. I should've taken the wheel." he said.
I would've thanked him for caring, but that was until I heard the last sentence.
"Kaden for f#*ks sake just shut up for once with your sexist comments, I will drive the way I want. We're not going on a road trip, my dad might be DEAD!" I yelled, not taking my eyes of the road.
I took a quick glance at the GPS, it showed 2 more minutes.
We entered a very quiet and dark highway.
"What the-" Kaden said. I saw it too and immediately stopped the car.
"Stay here I'll go check." he said as he unbuckled his seat belt and started loading his gun.
I rolled my eyes. Like I was going to listen to him. My gun was already loaded and it took a lot of patience in me to not take it out and shoot him with it.
I got out of the car, keeping the headlights on.
I walked cautiously towards the wreck and unfortunately it indeed was our car as it had the symbol.
I didn't want to think about the most likely outcome...I prayed to God that my father wasn't lying lifeless underneath a crumpled metal box.
Kaden walked behind me. I crouched down and searched for him but no one was in the car.
I had a small sigh of relief, so that meant he's survived. But if he wasn't here then where was he?
"Let's keep looking around, there's gotta be a clue somewhere." I said
Kaden took the torch out and beamed it nearby and that's when we saw blood trail. I looked at him and I could tell we were thinking the same thing.
We ran along the blood trail and in the distance we could see a limp body on the sidewalk.
"DAD!"
