Chapter 2
"I thought you wouldn't come," Miss Leila started. Magkatabing nakatayo lang kami ni PJ at hindi makatingin sa kaniya.
"Hindi na po-" she cut me off by raising her hand. I realized that we are not allowed to speak any language aside from English here in the Teachers' office. So I cleared my throat and composed myself. "I won't do anything stupid again, Miss. Please don't let Shaine know about this!" I begged. Shaine is the Chemistry Club president and well, she's nice and all but she sticks to the rules so I still am walking in a thread line here.
Miss Leila sighed and nodded. I thought I just saw a purple dolphin and lots of rainbows in the sky. My eyes gleamed at her as I was just so happy she agreed. An angel.
Then, I heard PJ laughing at my side. So I nudged him in the hip to make him stumble. He scoffed at me but I just made a face.
"I won't tell her, Ash. But, I need you to be John's pair in the assignment I gave him," she stated. I tilted my head to show her I'm confused. I stayed silent for her to continue but it was PJ to talk now.
"She's assigning us a Math work knowing she's an advanced chem. Teacher." He said sarcastically that made Miss Leila roll her eyes.
"This is for the school, for your information and I was just relaying it to you!" she trailed but continued as she calmed herself down. "I am tasked to relay the information to both of you. I didn't know why Ash. I know 'you suck' at that subject and you're barely even passing it." Then I heard PJ laughed at me again.
"Who tasked you, though? I really don't get it," I told her honestly but eventually regretting saying that aloud knowing I have a demon-like here standing beside me.
"Coz you're stupid," PJ whispered at me. So, I scoffed at him and turn my attention to Miss Leila again.
"You're dismissed. Just meet me tomorrow again, same time. Now off you go," she said as she pushed us out of the room and slam the door behind us.
I was still in a daze for I really don't know what to do. I'm so confused. Should I go home now and study? Would my mom be happy about this? When will this be? Why me? And with PJ?
"You do know I can hear you, right? No, you still have plans. Yes, maybe. Next week, I think. And yes, with yours truly." He said and even bowed like a prince. Ew.
I still did not move for I was studying his face. I'm not so sure if this was all a joke. That Miss Leila just made a deal with PJ to prank me. I was over-thinking then, I realized I was staring into nothing. I felt he moved towards me and felt his breath in my neck. That was when I dropped my bag.
"Ang panget mo. Tutunganga-tunganga ka pa diyan," he whispered. He picked my bag and hung it to my neck as if it was a medal. Then he walked past me, bumping my shoulder lightly.
My face grew hot in anger once more and I screamed. "MAS PANGET KA, PJ!" Then I heard him laugh.
Ang happy naman yata ng kumag na 'to ngayong araw. Kainis!
Out of frustration, I pulled my phone out of my pocket and composed a message saying: De-hinds ako sasama. Kumukulo ang dugo ko 'pag nakikita si PJ. Kayo na lang gumala ngayon. >.<
Then, I sent it through Messenger to my friends. He's always with the gang, so might as well avoid the gang for now.
I went to my locker and shove all my books inside. I got my car keys and went to the parking lot. I live a little far from school so my dad let me have my own car. It's not that big of a deal now because mostly everyone here in school got cars even way prettier than mine.
"Hi, Neji. I've missed you," I said to my precious baby and rubbed my palm to it. My mom made me work for him. Saying I should earn so I can have what car I would want when the time comes. I worked at a café for a year and saved all the paycheck, not spending any of it. At least, they didn't cut my allowance. The money I earned wasn't enough to buy Neji that time, and my mom suddenly became so generous that she paid all the expenses.
Sobrang saya ko noong araw na 'yon at pinilit na samahan ako ni Mame sa bangko at i-save doon. Now, I got my own card. Yey! Doon na rin pumupunta lahat ng allowance ko. Magwi-withdraw lang ako kapag need talaga.
I put my bag at the backseat and open the trunk so I could get my extra shirt. I went inside and started removing my shirt. Hindi na ako nag-aalalang may mamboboso dahil tinted naman and salamin. As I was about to wear the new one, I heard a simple whistle. I turned to look at where it came from and there I saw PJ again, sitting lazily at his motorbike just beside Neji. I swear if I could just destroy that smug face of his, I would. I noticed the glass on my car door wasn't exactly closed. My bad.
"Didn't know your love for me is this extreme, even showing your body so I'd be seduced," he trailed, smirking his face off. I still wasn't able to wear the shirt but I'm wearing my sports bra so I lowered the glass of my car door more.
"Did it work?" I asked sarcastically. He chuckled, and that made me do an eye roll. "Come on, PJ, can't you try to not annoy me every time we see each other? 'Cause, y'know? It's annoying?" I asked again. emphasizing the word 'annoying'.
Then, he stood up and the next thing I know, he's inside my car, seating at the passenger seat, and holding my shirt so I could wear it.
"What are you doing?" I asked when I finally got to wear the shirt, with his help.
"Don't make me state the obvious, Stupid girl." Then, he rolled the paper he got from the dashboard and whacked my head with it. I just glared at him. He just sat there. So I reached for my bag and begun finding my make up remover. I started wiping my face when I finally got it and used the rearview mirror.
"Can't you do that at home?" he asked as I felt his gaze.
"My little brother hates it when I have my makeup on. So I apply and remove here in the car." I stated. He snatched the wipes on my hand and made me face him, his hand on my chin.
"May na-miss ka. Oh, tapos na," he said and handed me the used wipes. I looked at it for a second but looked at him again as he still had his hand on my chin.
"PJ?" I asked. "Yeah?" he asked back. "Why are you still here?" I asked and started to become shy because he's just staring at me. I was still facing him but I couldn't look at his face anymore. I began to feel the blood rushing in my face and neck again as he just continued to stare at me.
"I agree with your brother. I like your face without makeup," he said, like a whisper. I clenched on the wet wipes on my hands as I started to get nervous.
"What are you mumbling about?" I asked, like a whisper too. He didn't answer me, though. He just moved closer slowly and closed his eyes.
At that moment, I didn't know what he was doing and what I should do. So I just stared at him and watch as to what he'll do next. But then, I got impatient so I whispered, "I ate two mints." So he shot his eyes open and suddenly laughed.
I pouted and was still confused. What is he laughing about? I'm not kidding. I really did ate two mints before I got here. He was just laughing and even wiping the side of his eyes as if I made the funniest joke.
"I'm not kidding! I really did ate two. The flavor's frosty if you wanna know." I hit him in the shoulder a couple of times until he held my hands to stop me.
"Did you really think I want that information?" he said still laughing, even harder now.
"I thought inaamoy mo hininga ko!" That just made him laugh even harder. Now I'm so done with this guy. Kabagin sana siya mamaya. Frustrating! Ugh! I just sat there, faced the front, and crossed my arms. After a while, I couldn't hear him laugh anymore. I just felt him looking at me but I still ignored him. I'm just waiting for him to get out of Neji so I can go home. I wanna go home!
"Don't pout like that, Missy, or I won't be able to control myself anymore," he said like a whisper again. I still ignored him and creased my forehead even more. "I won't give you the satisfaction of hearing me say you're cute." I was shocked and about to turn to him but he held my face first and quickly kissed my cheek. I was shocked even more if that even made sense.
I was out of my wits, man. Then I heard my car door closed. He already got out before I could yell at him. He muttered a 'bye' before started his engine. He even winked at me before he left.
Damn.
