Chereads / Amaryllis: A Demi-Human's Tale / Chapter 7 - Chapter 6

Chapter 7 - Chapter 6

"This has to be the worst day of my life." Lucas thought to himself as he started shaking again. He did not dare take his eyes off of the demon in front of him out of fear. Yet, he could feel her red viper-like eyes studying his every moment as if she was deciding on what to do with him.

"Ar…Are you going to kill me as well, Demon?" He said, still scared and feeling his pain kicking back in. His wounds were still bleeding out, but his clothes soaked up the majority of it.

"Hmm. In normal circumstances, I would have done so without a second thought. However-" She said bluntly told him before she flicked her hair out of her face to show him her body. Lucas's eyes went wide, realizing she looked more like a very old person or a dried talking skeleton. She was basically skin and bone in a dress. "I'm in no condition to do so."

"I don't have enough strength to do anything at the moment." She said, then moved her chains to show they were tight on her hands. "Especially with these shackles on, I'm stuck in this spot. My turn. Why do you smell and look similar to Lizzy?" She asked, looking at him while her nose slightly twitched as she smelled the air. She could smell Elizabeth's scent coming off of the child, yet she has never seen him before.

Lucas calmed down a little after hearing her say she couldn't move but was still on edge. He was kind of taken back by her question and was going to answer. However, the thoughts of what happened upstairs still pledged his mind, so he knew he couldn't make the same mistake twice. "How do you know her?"

The demon's eyebrows sightly rose as her pupils slightly pulsated from his answer. He was purposely avoiding her question with another, and this made her smile a little. She let out a small giggle. "Clever. Very well then. It might not look like it, but Lizzy and I go way back. She was my best friend." She said actually giving him credit for avoiding giving out important information.

"Oh." He said, still hesitant. "She's my," his voice trailed off as they both heard the voices of the invaders calling to him.

"Hey, kid! After we eat the meal you prepared, we are going to come down there and kill you." Timmy said from above the hole as all three of them had noticed that he wasn't in the same spot. They just thought he went to lay in a corner and cry again.

The demon girl could see the boy's face go pale when they called his name. His fear gave her an idea, and a sinister smile came across her face. "Looks like you're in a very interesting predicament." She said, drawing his attention back to her.

"No Shit Sherlock." He said with fear bathing his words. His words caused one of her eyebrows to go up. He then shook his head at her. "I'm sorry. I get your going to kill me as well, but I didn't mean to take my anger out on you. I just don't know what to do. Today was supposed to go well, except everything keeps getting worse. I was forced to miss lunch with my friends, got catfished by three random guys; when I tried to stand up for myself for once, I got slammed into the kitchen floor, and now I'm bleeding out in front of a demon I just met." He vented to the girl as tears began to fall from his eyes.

The demon girl's eyes went wide, then went to a straight blank face on hearing the boy's problems. "How the hell did he wake me up? He's such a bitch! Why did I have to wake up to this bullshit! " She thought to herself before letting out a sigh. "He will have to do for now."

"Hey. Hey. It's okay. Please stop crying. I think I have a solution that can benefit both of us." She said in a very sweet voice while her smirk was still visible. "Let's make a deal?…. Also, stop calling me a demon. I keep telling you that I'm not one."

Lucas stopped his sobbing as he sniffled at her response. "What kind of deal, demon?"

"Well. You need someone that can take care of the issue upstairs and keep you alive until Lizzy gets here. However, I want to be freed and replenish some of my lost strength. If you set me free, I will protect you from them." She said while moving her hand as she talked. She could see him thinking about the idea but hesitate a little before making up his mind.

"How can I trust you?" Lucas said, concerned and unsure. He didn't want this situation to become even worse than it already could be.

"I mean, what are your other options? As soon as they get done killing you, they are probably going to kill me as well. In all honesty, you really don't have a choice. You will just have to make the brave step and trust me. I would hurry if I were you. It sounds like they are almost done." She said, telling him the truth as her sinister small went away. She could hear the three upstairs wolfing down the food. Her eyes watched as the boy contemplated her words.

Lucas's eyes moved back and forth as he thought about his options. "I can't run away. My wounds would just get worse, and I could die from them. Fighting them is off the table as well. I could try to hide, but my wound. I really don't have the strength for anything else."

His attention then went to the demon as she just patiently waited on him. Her creepy smirk came back as she saw him looking back at her. He could see her eyes pulsating a little as if she was scanning him and patiently waiting.

"How do I get you free then, demon?" He said, giving in to her offer. "What else could go wrong at this point? All I had to do wany mother free. This can't get any more fucked up." He thought to himself.

"Great! Kiss me." She said with a straight face. She showed him a big toothy smile as her chains moved ever so slightly from her jumping a little with excitement.

"Huh?" he said, trying to process what she just asked him. "Hell no!" he yelled while blushing fully as her words finally set in. "Just. No."

"What do you mean, no?!" She yelled back at him. She was puzzled and irritated at his sudden outburst.

"Why do I have to kiss you? Isn't there any other way?" he said, getting louder, and his face became redder.

"I mean, I can bite you. However, in the state I'm currently in, I will not be able to control my thirst. But if you kiss me. I will be able to suck the blood that's all over your clothes and body, and that would be enough for me to handle them with." She explained to him.

"Hmmm." Lucas made the sound at her explanation with a "yeah right" look. He then turned his head towards the door as if he was about to crawl away and test his chances with the three upstairs again. "Maybe I have a better opportunity since they will be full," he mumbled to himself.

"Don't do it, you Idiot! " She said, knowing what he was thinking and heard his words. She then began to shake her head. She was trying not to get angry at him, but this was starting to be frustrating and really annoying. "It's just a kiss. Why are you acting like it's you f-" She said, looking at him, nearly rolling her eyes, but then a sudden realization hit her.

Lucas went silent but kept getting red. The room they were in grew silent as they stared at each other for a good solid second.

"You never kissed a girl before, have you?" She said in a monotoned voice, finally breaking the awkwardness.

"Well…I..mean." He said, trying to explain himself.

"By the divine serpents, you haven't." She said, starting to laugh at him. "This is golden. Don't tell me you're a virgin as well?" She looked at his face as it became even redder. This made her laugh even harder to the point that she almost fell over herself.

"You don't have to be mean about it. I've…just haven't found the right person yet." He said, wanting to die already. He couldn't believe the person that could save him was making fun of him. "It's not like you understand." He muttered angrily and looked away from her.

The girl stopped for a moment with small giggles, then heard what he mumbled. She then thought about her own first kiss and how it was wasted. She let out a sigh looking away from him. "I actually do." She confessed. She remembered how she kissed the person she liked, and they immediately rejected her. That embarrassing feeling and pain still hunted her.

"Look, I understand that you want to save it for someone special to you. However, at any second, you could die, and it would never happen. " The girl said, speaking truthfully to him.

Lucas heard her words but still didn't look at her. He could hear a sad undertone in her voice the moment she spoke. He knew she was right, but the idea was still there. "With everything that's happening, it's just one small kiss. It's better than dying." He thought to himself.

Another moment of silence went by until she spoke again. "If it makes you feel any better, we can agree that this one won't count as your first." She said, rolling her eyes, but deep down, part of her did feel a little pity for him.

"That would be a little better." He said, chuckling a little as he started to relax a tiny bit. He then let out a sigh as his mind was finally made up.

Lucas tried his best to stand up and walked to the girl; however, his legs gave out on him mid-walk. This caused him to fall on her when he got close enough. He heard a low grumble come from her as she held his weight do to the chains.

"Sorry about that." He said, pulling himself upward as his hands slightly grazed her chest.

As he got his bearings, he realized how close he was to her face. The first then he noticed was that there was a very faint light pink tent to her white hair. He then saw that her eyes had dilated to be bigger, and her viper-like pupils had opened up almost like a cat. If she weren't a creepy demon that could bite his throat out, he would have said she had beautiful eyes.

"Hey. Focus." She said, feeling his eyes focusing on hers a little too much. She could feel her own heartbeat racing, and this made her slightly uncomfortable. She cleared her throat before speaking. "This is nothing special—just a small deal to help each other out. Just puck your lips and go with it. Don't forget to close your eyes as well." She instructed him. This was something she didn't expect to ever have to do.

"Alright," Lucas said as she followed her instructions to the teeth. He hesitated slightly about closing his eyes in front of her. Yet, for some reason, he felt as if he could trust her not to bite his throat out.

"Please don't let him try to stick his tongue down my throat. " she prayed and hoped to herself he wouldn't try it. She let out a sigh as she closed her own eyes and went in for the kiss.

As their lips met, a warm sensation would overcome both of them as a purplish light surrounded them. A temporary contract had been made between them, which will only be broken until both of their deals are fully complete.

Lucas would feel a tingle sensation come over him more as the blood that covered his body traveled towards the girl's hungry mouth.

The girl was keeping true to her word of sucking in all the blood that covered him, but she couldn't help but feel something was off. Throughout her long years, she had drunk the blood of many. Whether it be friend or foe, it always had a unique taste depending on the creature. Yet, Lucas's blood tested abnormal. The abnormal taste made her open her eyes and look at Lucas for a solid second. When she felt all his blood on his body was gone, she pulled her head back from his immediately.

"That's enough." She said, taking very deep breaths as if she was holding herself back and allowing the blood to flow through her body. She avoided eye contact with him while she was taking it all in. Her lips were now red, along with her hair turning from a very light whitish-pink to a solid pink. The color came back to her skin as she continued to take deep breaths. She could feel her energy come back to her. Although it wasn't much, it was a good start.

The moment she pulled back and said it was enough, Lucas stepped back and opened his eyes. He felt better, to say the least. One of the immediate things Lucas picked up on was the fact his clothes were now dry, and not a hint of blood was on him. He still felt his injuries, but they had stopped bleeding. He then looked back at the demon, and his eye went wide on looking at her. She was a completely different person than before. She was no longer an old-looking skeleton but was a beautiful young lady. If he had to say she looked almost younger than him if it was possible.

"I was able to stop most of your bleeding for a short amount of time as I took what I needed." She said, not telling him about how his blood tasted. The girl felt a small amount of her strength come back. It wasn't all of it, but enough to break her shackles. A devilish smile crept across her face as she could feel the bonds began to shake and fight to keep her in place as she began to free herself. Lucas could do nothing but watch her in a mixture of amazement and terror.

Back above in the kitchen, the three invaders had finished dining on the meal Lucas had prepared. They even found Elizabeth's wine in the refrigerator, and each poured themselves a glass.

"Damn. That kid can cook. If this wasn't a revenge kind deal, I would have actually hooked him up with someone." Timmy said, pouring himself another cup of wine.

"I agree with you, but what girl do you know, T.," Alexander said, taking the bottle from him.

Brando just sat there with a blunt in his mouth, chuckling at the two. He didn't know why but he thought about that kid and the moment the knife hit him. If he didn't move an inch or had tougher skin, that knife would have done some severe damage to him. He honestly hated the idea of what the kid could have done if he was a lot stronger. He looked into the glass before tossing it to the ground. He angrily took his preroll out of his mouth and placed it on the table before standing up.

"I'm going to go kill the kid. Y'all cool with that?" He asked his partners. They both just waved their hands as they continued to drink.

Brando then walked over to the hole where he slammed the kid in and jumped down into it. He landed with a thump as he began to scan the area. He then noticed a blood trail leading to what looked like a door. He let out a sigh as he shook his head. "He could have at least made this more challenging. " He thought before he started to walk on the trail.

A shadow quickly ran out of the corner of his eye, making him immediately look in that direction, but it was gone. He stood up straight, rubbing his eyes for a moment. He shook it off, thinking the wine was getting to him. As he continued on his walk, he heard something moving past a box. He quickly turned around, raising his hands, ready to fight what he thought was the boy. He was caught off guard by the energy of something else that sent a chill down his spine as the sound of a woman's laughter filled the basement.

"Show yourself!" he demanded as he became tense. He could feel the hair on the back of his neck raise up as a pair of hands wrapped around his head. He was frozen in fear as a sinister giggle-filled his ear before being dragged into the darkest part of the basement.

A blood-curling scream filled the house and caused the two upstairs to jump out of their seats.

"What the hell was that?!" Timmy said, looking at Alexander with utter shock and worry.

"That sounded like Brando! I thought you said the kid was alone!" Alexander snapped at his short partner.

"He was! You saw it for your... Wait, do you hear that?" Timmy said, hearing something coming from the basement.

Alexander and him both stopped arguing and could hear what sound like singing. They both walked towards the hallway to follow the sound, and their eyes both landed on the basement door. They watched and listened to the voice as it got close to the door and stopped. The doorknob began to twist violently before a click could be heard.

The door swung open, and a young woman stepped out. She had long pinkish red hair and crimson red snake-like eyes. She was wearing a very withered and faded kimono that didn't survive the test of time. Blood covered her lips and hands as she looked straight for a moment. She slowly raised her head back and took a deep breath as her tongue licked her lips. She then tilted her head to the side, looking at the two with shock spread across their face. A soft giggle escaped her mouth as a twisted smile came across her lips. With a flick of her right arm, she tossed the object, in her hand, at the smaller invader. Timmy didn't try to catch it as he realized it was his friend's lifeless head.

"Don't worry. His crystal is still intact. So if you hurry, you could bring him back." The girl said, bringing her right arm that once had the shackle to her mouth to lick the rest of the blood off. "That is if I allow you to survive." She said, eyeing the two as her smile grew wider.
