Plonk.. plonk.. plonk...The sound of the rain makes a tinkling sound on the wooden rooftop.
A boy can be seen sleeping in his bed peacefully. With chiseled features and a small button nose and platinum blonde hair that seemed to shine when sunlight hit it, he gave off an ethereal look akin to what many would believe would be an angel. His lips, although thin, were a deep rouge in color. His skin was fair as though he had never worked outside his entire life, but if one looked closely they would see the multitudes of freckles covering a lithe body.
The room was small, with only a wooden bookcase, desk, chair, dresser and bed. The desk was strewn with many handwritten letters, and books were stacked high in every corner almost reaching the ceiling.
Bang bang bang
"Noah! This child... I told you to get up already!" His mother yelled from the other side of the door. "It's mating season! Today they're having a gathering at the center of the village for all the single wolves. Do you want to be alone your entire life?"
Bang
"Noa-" Her words stopped as the door finally opened revealing her naked son.
"This child! When will you grow up and put your clothes on! You are eighteen now, you're not a little pup anymore!" She walks in, noticing the mess. "Did a hurricane sweep through here? I thought I told you to clean up!" She steps over the papers and books on the floor before reaching the drawer, picking out some clothes. "Here wear this, this, and this." Before her laid a black slim-fitting long sleeve shirt, and black jean pants and grey undies. The shirt and pants being his only good pair of clothes.
Noah was obedient and put everything on, he was still sleepy so he didn't notice his mom had picked up one of the letters on his desk.
"Dear Rana... I like you please be my mate this seaso-"
The letter was suddenly torn out of her hands.
"Mom! Please don't read anything... they're not even finished yet." Noah's face flushed with embarrassment forcing him to look away from his mom's curious gaze, before tucking the letter behind his back.
Unperturbed his mother picked up another letter, reading through it she noticed that it was addressed to the same person. Looking at the letters on the floor they all had the same name.
Recalling all the people named Rana she finally puts a face together with the name.
"Hun... you like the village chief's omega daughter...? But isn't she engaged to young Mason?" In confusion, she looked at her son.
Mason was one of the head soldiers in charge of protecting the village. The two had met when her father had appointed Mason to protect her as a bodyguard during a meeting with other packs one day.
He shuffled his feet a little but ended up answering anyway. "I know..." He looked at his mom with his bright beautiful hazel eyes. "But I still think we're soul-mates...anyways where's dad?" He says trying to change the subject.
His mother stares at him for a while before saying "He's out hunting with the others, which you should have been doing as well-" She quickly walks out of his room and towards the kitchen, Noah following suit behind her. "-but he offered to do your portion of the day." It was a known fact that all eligible young men had to go out and hunt after the age of fourteen.
Noah looks down guiltily. His mother notices and laughs, "Noah, honey. We chose not to wake you up. We wanted you to go to the village center to find yourself a mate." She starts bustling around the kitchen before grabbing a huge container of meat stew.
"Here, use this to woo any of your potential mates, it's a family secret specialty." His mother hands him the stew and pushes him towards the door. "Put your shoes on and go!" She says before walking away to the direction of Noah's room, probably to clean the mess up.
Noah looks at her back before putting his shoes on and heads outside in tow with the soup. As he walks to the center of the village he sees a crowd form, amidst the crowd he notices a familiar figure.
'Rana! What should I do?' He looks at the stew he was holding before walking up to her, pushing many people out of the way while apologizing.
Her black hair flowed towards her round bottom which he could not stop staring at, coupled with her dark skin and chocolate brown eyes he couldn't look away.
"Rana-" but before he could reach her he was suddenly blocked by a large dark wall, or was it a human. He looked up to see that it was Mason.
Mason with his green eyes pinned Noah to the ground which he stood on. He looked at the container Noah was holding and looked behind him and saw his fiancé. He put two and two together. Rana noticed him staring and smiled waving back, which caused him to smile as well. He turned back to look at Noah.
"You... I thought I told you to stop going after my wife." Mason said forcefully.
"She's not your wife yet," Noah muttered.
Sigh...smack...
The container full of soup was knocked out of Noah's hand spilling onto the ground.
"Ahh~ look at what you made me do." Mason rubbed his short Afro. "My bad, guess you won't be needing it anymore." He laughed. At the commotion, a couple of people walked closer, including Rana. Many of the people nearby began laughing as they had been watching the confrontation between me and Mason earlier.
"What happened?" Rana asked Mason after she walked up. She glanced at Noah before looking at the spilled contents on the ground.
I open my mouth to say something before I catch Mason's eyes giving me the death stare, and I look at the muscles on his arms. I choke back my words and say that it was nothing and that I had accidentally dropped it. Everyone around me snickered.
She gave me a pitying look and asked one more time if I was ok, I said yes, and afterward, she dragged Mason away with her.
I pick up the container and went back home, knowing Mason, this would not be the end of it. He would try to get back at me to prevent me from telling Rana the truth later. Him and his alpha pheromones always end up scaring me, subconsciously, I knew I would not be able to win against him.
'Once I present I'll show him, I'll get as buff as my dad then he won't know what hit him.' He thought.
