Chapter 3 - Only One

As the two of us was clicked and since then we two have been best friends from the day we met. And one more thing about Mei Lin is her personality, it's way bigger than her petite body. For the appearance, Mei Lin has categorised as a beautiful and perfect figure for a woman.

And she always has the wear her long straight brown hair and a little touch of makeup to enhances her bright puppy eyes. But I don't think I've ever seen her in a dress and proper suit, as for her it is all about style with skirts and cute little tops.

Actually, there isn't a shortage of guys when Mei Lin is around. The men out there always tried flirting with Mei Lin, but she has yet to find the perfect man to give her heart to yet.

As of now, I didn't feel like eating, but I knew I had to appease Mei Lin right now if not she would not leave me alone.

"Wen Wen. Do you want me to stay with you tonight?" Mei Lin asked.

I set my fork down.

"No, but thanks Mei Lin actually I just want to be alone and I think I'll go take a bath now," I said as rejected her.

After that, I got up from the table and headed to the bathroom. So I turned the water on and poured a cupful of bubble bath into the stream. I twisted my long hair up and clipped it to prevent it from getting wet.

As I climbed into the bubble-filled small tub and slid down until my head was resting on the bath pillow behind me. I laid there, closed my eyes and tried to think of a plan, but I was too grief-stricken, and I needed the proper amount of time to wallow in self-pity before moving on with my life as a single female after this.

By the time I got out of the bathtub, Mei Lin had everything cleaned up. She had left me a text message saying.

-Babe, you should get some rest and call me if you need anything. I'll call you tomorrow, love you always.-

From: Mei Lin

Gradually, I smiled because now she was a friend that I felt like the only family I had left. As an orphan, my mother passed away from cancer when I was six, and my father died right before my seventeen birthday. Even I had an aunt and uncle back in B city, but I have not seen or heard any new from them since my dad had died.

Before I always considered Mo Ting and his parents as my family, but now that we're broken up, so it would be more than awkward to talk to them.

After I made sure the door was locked, I turned off the lights and snuggled in my bed, burying my head under the covers to escape the reality of my life, at least for tonight.
