You're just too good to be true
I can't take my eyes off you
At some point of my sleeping state, I was half-asleep that I heard a song playing outside my house. It's too early to wake up! My brain automatically made a new dream caused by the deep touch of slumber to me that has rushed my body once again.
You'd be like heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much
In my dream, I was performing in an arean due to a world tour. I was in a band doing these kinds of stuff. It was my solo stage that time and I wore a red dress, while carrying an umbrella to add charm on it. And, I was singing this song. Can't Take My Eyes Off You by Frankie Valli.
At long last love has arrived
And I thank God I'm alive
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you
Many people cheered for my name and my band's name and I offered my gummy smile to them and the crowd roared more and more. My parents were watching too. They were screaming their lungs out and waving those unique lightsticks.
Pardon the way that I stare
There's nothing else to compare
The sight of you leaves me weak
There are no words left to speak
But if you feel like I feel
Please let me know that is real
You're just too good to be true
I can't take my eyes off you
I walked at the middle section of the stage and did my infamous heart arrow with a smirk, which made the crowd go wild.
I love you baby
And if it's quite all right
I need you baby
To warm the lonely nights
I love you baby
Trust in me when I say
It was an oldies theme kind of solo stage to have a little equilibrium to the whole concept of the concert.
When I reached the other side of the stage, I sat on a wooden bench and continued to sing this song of Frankie Valli.
Oh pretty baby
Don't bring me down I pray
Oh pretty baby
Now that I've found you stay
And let me love you, baby
Let me love you
My solo stage ended with the some of the potion of the stage alongside the bench, went down and the dream skipped forward to me holding hands with a random girl with three other girls as we bowed to our fans to end the concert.
The girl beside me smiled, she had bangs and was taller than me. Her smile's one of a kind and she doesn't look like a Korean. The girl next to her was Naomi-unnie, who was looking at the girl beside her who had pink long hair, styled into beach waves.
Wait what, Naomi-unnie's my bandmate?
I woke up from that marvelous dream after the song outside already stopped and to the buzzing of my phone.
When I was in college, I was hella nervous upon taking our midterms exam and I ended up singing that song to somehow lessen my nervousness at the hallway on my way to the testing room.
Without opening my left eye, I grabbed my phone and out of sleepiness, I thought it was my alarm that was waiting to be dismissed but instead it was a new notification. Email notification.
Geez, I noticed that it's already 11 in the morning. Was I up all night last night?
Oh yeah, I did midnight yoga exercises like an idiot and watched a movie afterwards to celebrate the success of yesterday's shoot last night.
I first read the text message of Managernim Alyssa that was sent 3 hours ago, saying that she'll go to the company to arrange some papers and that I deserve a dayoff, again. Atleast, I have a dayoff to enjoy.
I tapped the new email and began to read it after sitting up on my bed, indian style.
From: unknown123
"Email three.
Greetings for the third time.
You're just too good to be true, can't take my eyes off you~ I became obsessed at that 60s song when I was still alive and I remember someone singing that in the hallways of a certain college building. I was from the bathroom and was on my way to the testing room for midterms. After that, I listened to it almost everyday nonstop.
My heart sank upon the realization that someone heard my voice that time. Oh God. Also, the fact that my voice had an impact on someone else's life. Damn.
Enough of that information. Let's continue to the main agenda of today, shall we? Hope you had a good day at your shoot yesterday, did you like the flowers and the food? Ehe. Well now, enjoy your dayoff with doing the third email objectives. :)
• Go to a museum and take pictures.
• Try to guess my favorite painting, take a picture with it and send it here.
• If you guess it right, you'll receive something. :)
• If you're in luck, someone will accompany you to your museum adventure.
• There's this certain restaurant near the museum, try to find out which one is it. It's the one with Thai writings on the outside ;)
• Enjoy your day. Have fun!
Annyeong and best of luck.
I immediately fixed my bed and myself after reading that email. I hopped around my bedroom like a bunny as I prepared for my day ahead. It's been awhile since I went to a museum.
And that was weird. Why did the song had a part on the third email.
After preparing everything, I put on my headphones and played my favorite songs after locking the front door of my house behind me.
I decided to just walk my way to the museum to maintain the healthy lifestyle I have until I bumped into someone.
"Mianhae--Tari?"
It was Zoe Chen, photography major, my friend, and batchmate. I heard she's a professional photographer now and has been all around to world to capture the best moments our Earth could offer.
"Zoe!" I hugged her as a greeting and she fortunately hugged back. We've been friends since college since she was the first one who welcomed me to the school in my college years.
I'm still a freshly graduated human being, but since I was still a teenager, I was offered contracts from different modelling agencies.
"You look amazing just like in college but you look better now." She complimented me. "But, you look thinner?"
I observed her facial expressions. "Ah! It's because you're a supermodel now! I'm such a pabo!"
We laughed together and she opened again a topic for us to talk about. It's feel good to talk to someone after a long time.
"Are you going somewhere? Maybe I'm holding you back from your errands, I must be going now." She said and scratched the nape of her neck.
I immediately shook my head. "Ani-ya! I'm just going to the museum on my dayoff. How about you? Maybe I'm the one who's holding back your errands." I jokingly said to her and she also shook her head.
"I was just walking around with my camera to practice more of my photography skills and I bumped into you," She said and she showed me her camera. "Oh, you're going to the museum? Can I come with you?"
I nodded and we talked about our lives on the way to the museum and simply enjoyed each others' company.
----
My mouth turned into an 'O' shape as we went inside the said museum. It was filled with artistic masterpieces, like paintings and sculptures that circulated the history of South Korea and other well known paintings all from different parts of the world.
I looked around the museum and spotted a beautiful painting. I had an idea.
"Yah, Zoe?" I nudged her shoulder but she was already taking pictures of some masterpieces.
"Hm, Tari-ya?" She replied while adjusting the lens of her camera.
"What about this," I started. "Let's look around the museum and let's meet up at that painting over there. I guess you're here as my personal photographer so take pictures of me later." I smiled at her.
She nodded. "Professional photographer Kang Seulgi, at your service! I'll see you in a bit, Tari Kim."
I individually and closely looked at the masterpieces around this museum and you can literally the talents of humans regarding hand pieces.
I remembered someone who wanted to go to every museum that there is in the world for she was addicted to some masterpieces especially paintings. And to the fact that she wanted to go with me to share her admiration was kind of cute.
But, I don't seem to remember her name.
I was looking at a certain masterpiece that was placed on a high area when I accidentally bumped my back to someone's back.
It was Zoe.
"Bingo," She said that made me confused. "We're here at the painting at the same time! Pose there quick!"
I was suprised for I didn't notice that we've already reached that certain painting. I stood there and gave Zoe a simple pose for the painting.
"Now give me your phone," She said and I gave her it. "The world may want to see my shots."
I gave her several poses for my phone's camera until we ended up taking pictures to almost every paintings here.
----
"Tari-ya! I'm hungry. Treat me please, it's been awhile since we last ate together. Plus, I'm broke." Zoe pouted as we walked outside the museum. I laughed at her for she was patting her stomach like an idiot.
"Says the one who had traveled the world and shots were featured to some famous magazines," I teased her while she still pouted. "Oh please, Zoe Chen."
"Says the one who had been featured to some of the world's famous brands and her face's been seen to almost every television and billboards," She mocked me and I laughed at her silliness. "Oh please, Tari Kim."
We ended up eating to a new place for me, it had Thai writings like what the email had stated. "A Thai cuisine, hm. I see."
----
We ate until our stomachs were fully loaded and it was exactly sunset when we finished. Thai dishes were really one of a kind and you will not get tired of eating it for the rest of your life.
I remembered someone who wanted to build her own Thai restaurant here in South Korea for she had not seen one yet.
But, I don't seem to remember her name.
Zoe excused herself to go to the bathroom while I scrolled to the pictures of earlier.
Without hesitations, I sent the picture of me with the first painting. I hope I got it right.
Zoe came back and we walked home together but she stopped at a familiar street.
"Tari-ya, I'll take this way home. I had fun today, thank you very much. Stay safe while going home. I have to go to my unnie first." She winked.
We hugged each other and I saw her walk to a familiar shop. It was the Red Velvet Café. Oh, I see.
I continued to walk home and I saw flowers and a two white boxes on my front porch.
Maybe I got it right. :)
