TEN YEARS AGO,
SEPTEMBER 23rd, 2011.
(DAVINA'S POV)
It's my 11th birthday. It's our 11th birthday.
Me and Clarity.
"Claire?!"
I jump out of bed, running down the stairs to already see her sitting on the couch with our pet cat, Jingles.
"Happy birthday, Claire!"
"Happy, happy birthday, Vina!"
We both hug each other when my mom comes down the stairs, grinning from ear to ear.
"Happy birthday, my beautiful little girls! What would you like for breakfast?"
"Bacon!"
"Pancakes!"
She smiles sweetly, planting a kiss on both of our noses.
"Pancakes and bacon it is!"
To us, kissing the nose is a sign of deep affection and love.
Nose kisses are my favorite.
"I'll get those ready. Is Rory up?"
"Nope! I think he's still sleeping."
"Teenage boys...am I right? All they do is sleep."
We all laugh and my mom disappears into the kitchen.
I jump up onto the couch, petting Jingles as well.
I turn on the TV, cuddling next to Clarity.
"I can't believe it's already our 11th birthday! We're so old!"
Clarity giggles.
"At least we aren't like Rory. He's seventeen. That's old."
I snort and we turn back to the TV as footsteps are heard.
"Rory?"
"Happy birthday!"
We both squeal, jumping up before running over to him, hugging him.
"Are you still sleepy?"
"Ehh...not really. How's your birthday so far?"
We both look up at him with wide eyes.
"Good! Ooh...mommy's making pancakes and bacon."
I smile.
"Even Jingles is happy!"
"Kids! Breakfast!"
Clarity grins.
"Last one to the kitchen is a loser!"
"Hey!"
We all start running, but Rory easily beats us.
"That's no fair!"
"Yeah! He's big!"
"You know what they say? First is the worst. So technically you guys won."
We both start giggling and my mom puts our food in front of us.
"Yay! Food!"
"Yes...I have to go get your presents! Rory, make sure they don't do anything wrong, okay? I'm going to trust you."
"I won't let them do anything, mom."
My mom nods before hurrying away, and Rory hands us a box wrapped with sparkly purple paper.
"Ooh! Purple!"
"Is this our present?" Clarity looks down at it before up at him. "You didn't have to!"
"It's only fair."
We both pull the string, opening the top of the present.
"Woah..."
We pull out two beautiful silver chained necklaces, with small heart shaped amethysts in the middle.
We look up at him in wonderment.
"These are pretty! How did you get them?!"
"I bought them with my money...don't tell mom. She'll be mad I spent my allowance on a gift so expensive."
"Mom will be mad at what?"
We all turn around to see her, standing with her arms crossed.
"Nothing!" We all day and she grins.
"Just playing! Here you go, girls!"
We clap at two more boxes, pulling off the lids.
"That one's for you, Claire."
Clarity opens it, looking down at a silver plated charm bracelet.
"That one's for you, Davina."
"Okay!"
I open the other one, looking down at a pretty, purple handled pocket knife.
The blade was dull though.
"I know you're getting into the collecting stuff...so I thought I'd get you started!"
I smile.
"Thank you, mommy."
"No problem."
I clutch the knife in my hand, smiling.
My first weapon.
********
(DAVINA'S POV)
ONE WEEK AGO...
My first weapon.
The one I killed them with.
Rory and June, my mother.
Clarity didn't tell on me. But then she got hit by a car.
She didn't die though.
I think she was taken away by a dark force...a demon.
I look down at the purple handled dagger, pulling it to my chest.
The last thing I got from her.
The last time I saw my mom, Clarity, or Rory.
I still think about it...about them.
About their blood on my hands.
But you know...everything happens for a reason.
It's too bad though...that all good things must come to an end.
The first one starting with my own sanity.
********
FIVE DAYS EARLIER,
THE BOAT OF CHARON.
(CLARITY'S POV)
I dread happiness.
Something I'll never get to feel now that she's gone.
My true love.
He killed her. He killed her.
But maybe she's not dead?!
I think she needs help.
Ayla needs help.
I just remember her her eyes, frozen. Big, lifeless, and navy.
Her pale skin even paler than it usually was.
Her black hair matted with blood.
I saw her dead body...all cut up.
All butchered.
A meat cleaver...they said was the weapon.
That big, saw like knife...I would die to know what it feels like against someone's flesh...or my own for that matter.
"Excuse me, Miss?! Do you have any obols?"
I turn to the man, and he smiles.
"Davina! Why didn't you just say it was you? Did you forget your obol again?"
I blink a few times before nodding.
"Yeah."
"Okay...I'll let ya on...just bring one back to me, alright?"
"Alright."
I give him a tight smile in return, hurrying into the boat.
Davina...huh? Do I really look like that bitch? I don't want to look like Vina...I want to have my own identity.
But for some reason I'm always in her shadow.
Always.
Never once have I not been compared or mistaken for her.
Besides when I met Ayla.
She was the only one who understood me.
The only one who loved me.
But then I found her heart on the ground next to her dead body.
I want to know who did it.
But maybe I'll be fine now...it's been three years? I will still help her...and...you know? I actually did find her. I found her here in the underworld.
********
TWO HOURS LATER...
I smile at Charon, the driver of the ship.
"Thank you for the ride...I'll get you your obol!"
"Alright, Davina. Have fun!"
I wave, hopping off the ship.
Hmmm...I wonder where she is?
I can smell her...the sweet rose scented shampoo she always used...
I teleport over to a place called Eternal Moonlight, peering through the window.
Ooh! Is that her?! Wait a minute...
My eyes narrow when I see a fawn haired bitch talking to her.
What if she's flirting?!
I will kill her...no! No!
I shake my head, trying to rid it from that parasite's thoughts.
I walk through the door, my eyes moving around the room.
They're staring at me, aren't they? Can they see me?
I hear whispers...are they talking about me?
I turn invisible, before sneaking behind the blue haired man I've seen before.
I can tell he feels my presence but doesn't want to seem crazy.
I peer over his shoulder, staring blankly at Ayla and the fawn haired bitch.
Ayla's eyes seem to move past me, and when I turn my head slightly I see him.
He was the one who killed her.
Alaric Walker.
The weasel's brother my sister likes.
When I move my gaze back fawn's eyes snap on mine, and her face pales as she leans into Ayla's ear.
"You saw it too?"
******
After a while of watching her the black haired girl she seems to have a connection with disappears into the bathroom.
I will go talk to her.
I teleport into the bathroom, seeing her staring at herself in the mirror.
"Why can't you just say something, Thea? You know what's going to happen. You know she's watching...why?!"
"Shhh..."
She snaps her head around and lets out a small scream, and I cock my head to the side.
"What is your relationship with Ayla?"
"Ayla? I don't...I don't know an Ayla!"
"You do! You were talking to her! With the fawn haired bitch!"
"You have the wrong person! That's my friend Aiden...we don't know an Ayla!"
I grab the girl by the throat, my eyes glowing red and purple.
"Lie to me again and I'll carve them into your skin, bitch!"
Her eyes water as I squeeze the air from her lungs, and I feel something throw me back, letting out a grunt when I hit the bathroom floor.
"What's going on here?"
The girl stumbles backwards as well, and he teleports over, lifting her upright before she falls.
"She...she tried to kill me!"
I move my eyes to his, and he searches for something in mine.
"Claire..."
I frown, glaring at the girl before disappearing.
That was a close one, wasn't it, Darcy?
I hear a demonic giggle in my head.
Very close, child.
********
(ALEC'S POV)
TWO WEEKS AGO...
There's a point you get tired of pretending.
Pretending to be friends with someone...pretending to be someone you're not...pretending to be fine.
I dropped the act last year...it's honestly too much.
I'd rather be a morbid asshole then a fake.
Still I hold up a front, hold up my guard...but it's around some people you feel you feel like you can let it down for.
Many people have tried to be that person for me.
But how can you tell your secrets...you darkest, most sinister secrets to someone you barely know? Barely trust? Barely love even enough?
You want life to be a dream, like a fantasy you've imagined.
Most people don't get to live that life. Didn't get to live that life.
Instead they're stuck living the nightmare that they've dreaded their whole existence.
My whole life story.
It all starts to go downhill at one point...and mine was the second I chose to go with Davina John.
I met her when I first became a shapeshifter.
Met her when I sold my soul.
*********
THREE YEARS AGO,
JANUARY 3rd, 2018.
"Alec?"
I pull my headphones off, turning my head towards my bedroom door.
"Yeah, mom?"
"Come downstairs when you can, okay? Your father and I need to talk to you about something."
"Okay."
She leaves, and I drop my headphones on my desk before going downstairs.
My mom and dad sit on the couch, my mom's face filled with worry while my dad's looks stone cold.
"Son...have a seat."
I sit down, staring at them both suspiciously.
"Yes...?"
"We need you to goin the woods."
"Huh? Why? Didn't—"
"Your grandma said it's okay to go in at this time of day. We need you to go get some cranberries."
"Okay."
Thanatos smiles and Nyx looks away.
"Mom, you okay?"
"Fine."
She looks guilty.
I stand up, looking at my father.
"You want me to go now?"
"Yes, son, that'd be great."
My eyebrows furrow at the devilish grin on his face.
He's up to something, isn't he?
"Alec!"
I turn around to see Ryan coming towards me, squishing me in a hug.
"Hi, Ry."
"Where are you going?"
"The woods," I look at my parents before back at her. "They want me to go get cranberries."
"Ooh! Can I come?"
"No, Ryan sweetie, that's dangerous."
Ryan's eyes move to Nyx.
"I'll be fine!"
"No, honey. You're only fourteen. That's too young to be getting into that stuff."
"But—he's only two years older than me!"
"You can stay here with us, Ryan. He'll be back soon."
"Ugh. Fine."
She grins at me.
"Bye, my favorite cousin!"
"Bye, captain."
I walk out the door, holding onto a small crate where I can put the cranberries.
Why the hell do I even need to get them?!
No one in that house likes them.
Weird...
I venture into the forest, looking around each time I hear a noise.
After around ten minutes I start to get worried, because not only is it dark, and I don't think cranberries are in a darn forest, but I feel someone watching me.
And I hear footsteps.
I finally drop the crate, turning around.
"Who's there? I'll use black magic on you, you bastard! Quit following me!"
I hear a feminine giggle come from my right.
"You're cute..."
I feel someone's hand on my left arm, and when I turn around no one's there.
"Cut it out!"
"Are you scared, baby boy? You're so cute and little..."
"Why would I be scared of you? And I'm not even little! I'm 6'3, lady."
"Lady, huh? You have some sass...my name is DD."
"DD?"
"Or Vina. My name's Davina."
I move my head around.
"Where are you?!"
"Look up here..."
I move my eyes upwards, seeing a large tree with a white cat on it.
"I'm not talking to a cat...am I?"
She giggles again.
Her voice is coming from the cat.
She drops down...circling around my left leg.
"You smell good...like cedar wood."
"Cedar wood?"
The cat morphs into a human girl with dark black eyes and purple hair, grinning.
"Cedar wood...you don't happen to be wearing cologne, do you?"
"Well...yes?"
"Sexy...how old are you? Am I flirting with a minor?"
"Sixteen."
She nods.
"I just turned seventeen...that isn't much of a difference, right?"
Her grin creeps me out.
"I mean...no...but what're you trying to do, Davina?"
"Kill you! Haha! I'm just kidding!"
She smiles sweetly at me.
"Convert you."
"Uhh...what?"
"Change you...for the better, of course. All you have to do is come with me."
"But I have to go—my parents—"
"Set this up. You're supposed to come with me."
My eye twitches.
"They set me up to be kidnapped, Davina?"
"Not kidnapping! Converting. You need to be...to be a shapeshifter."
"I need to?"
"Yes...just a little prick, babe."
I look down at her hands, seeing a large knife.
"A little prick?! Davina...Davina that's a saw!"
I begin to back away, and she simply comes closer, laughing.
"It won't hurt a lot...I promise! Just stand still!"
She pulls a lever and the saw starts moving, the serrated blade coming closer and closer to me.
She drops it when she sees my face, contorted in fear.
"Oh no...poor boy. Don't worry. I'll do it the easy way. Take off your shirt, will ya?"
I stare at her uneasily, pulling it over my head before dropping it next to me.
"Good...now stay there. We need the blood sacrifice in order for you to sell your soul."
"Sell my soul?! Are you mental?!"
"Well...yes...but it's totally necessary!"
She raises a blade towards my stomach, carving a large X in it.
She then puts four letters in each little column.
D, A, C, and R.
She watches the blood drip down my abdomen, cocking her head to the side.
"You don't feel it, do you?"
"Is that weird?"
She frowns slightly.
"You're immortal."
"I am?"
"Yes. Would you mind if—"
She holds a syringe, and I stare at it.
"What're you—"
"I need blood...I—"
"Okay."
"I—really?!"
"Sure, I guess."
I stare at her uneasily and Davina sticks it in a gap in my stomach, sucking blood into it.
Her eyes widen in wonderment, and she looks back at me.
"I've never had god blood."
"Davina?!"
I hear footsteps, and she looks up to see a group of other people.
"Did you get him?!"
"I uhh...I marked him!"
"Good...does he know?"
"Know what?"
I look at them, then the taser looking object in their hands.
I flinch when I feel another needle go into my neck.
"That you have to join us, kid."
********
(CLARITY'S POV)
FIVE YEARS AGO,
MARCH 10th, 2016.
I walk along outside Darcy's home, hearing her humming inside.
You must be wondering who Darcy is.
The woman who took me away four years ago on my eleventh birthday when I got hit by a car.
I died that day...but she brought me back.
Everyone else in that dark town still think I'm dead.
She told me the real dangers of this world, about the impurities.
Most people would say she's a demon.
Maybe she's just a ghost.
Nobody else can see her.
I see a girl across the street, long black hair, deep blue eyes, pale skin.
I stare at her, and she moves her eyes over to me, smiling.
She waves and I panic a little, awkwardly waving back.
I feel a presence behind me, hearing her voice.
"Who is this, Clarity?"
"I...umm...I don't know...I just saw her across the street and she waved to me."
"Hmm...why don't you go say hi?"
I move my head up to look at her.
"Is that not creepy, Darcy? I barely know her."
"I don't think so! More of visiting a neighbor."
I frown slightly.
"But you don't like me leaving the property."
"It's okay. You could use a friend."
She smiles and I smile back, standing up.
"Okay. I'll be back!"
"Have fun. I will make sandwiches."
I go across the street, waving.
"Hi! My name is Clarity."
The girl looks up.
"Oh! Hey, Clarity! I like your name! But I'm Ayla."
"Ayla...okay. Are you new here?"
Her dark eyes move to mine.
"Yeah. New, you could say. We had to move do to...well...circumstances."
"Oh?" I sit down on the pavement next to her, and she continues writing in a small notebook.
"How long have you been here?"
"Well...four years now."
Ayla nods before looking back up at me, smiling.
"I can tell we'll get along well... but just a question...do you like horror movies?"
********
(ALEC'S POV)
"Clones?! Davina...where exactly is this warehouse?!"
"I...umm...I can bring you there. Just come with me."
******
I follow Davina out of the creepy room, and into the actual forest.
As we go further and further she starts to slow down, and I turn back around.
"Vina?! Are you okay?!"
"The...the darkness is overwhelming...they're taking over! Kill...blood...dead! She's dead!"
"Who's dead?! Davina?"
I look around, my eyes darting left and right.
"Davina? Where'd you go?"
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. You fall for everything, don't you, child?"
I turn around, and my eyes go wide.
"Oh crap."
I see Davina's pale body on the floor, and some sort of serpent monster in front of me.
*********
(AIDEN'S POV)
She drops down beside me, and I blink a few times when I see three of her.
Am I hallucinating?!
My heartbeat thumps wildly in my chest, and my eyes move to hers as I feel a knife go into my stomach, her breath against my cheek, her lips against mine.
What is happening?
"You're so much more fun then the rest...so much more...enjoyable then the rest. It's a shame you have to go so soon...at least I can still have some fun while it lasts. Do you like the taste of blood, Aiden? I do. I do a lot. I'd kill for it. I do kill for it."
Her eyes snap on something on my neck.
"A vampire bite? Who are you scheming with?"
I feel the blood soak through my fingers, moving my eyes weakly to hers.
"I'm not scheming—"
"Then what is that bite on your mark, dear?! Did you stab yourself with a fucking fork?! Answer me you dumb whore!"
She slaps me across the face and my head goes to the side, a burning sensation left where her hand made contact with my skin.
"Alaric...he...he bite me."
"Alaric Walker?! The little lying bastard?! Why?!"
"I don't know...just...I had to help him..."
She grips my face tightly.
"Who did you have to help?"
"Alec Walker."
She stabs my arm.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
I let out a grunt each time.
"Stop loving him!"
"What?"
My eyes snap on hers.
Filled with passion, sadness, anger, and most of all...reject.
She leans closer again, grabbing my ear.
"Why do you love him?"
She whispers shakily in my ear, pulling away.
"Maybe I'll gouge your eyes out...you won't have to see his lying face ever again."
She looks at me with a panic stricken face.
"Please, Ayla!"
"Ayla?"
My mind goes blank.
She's insane.
She thinks I'm somebody else.
"I...umm...Clarity?"
"Please! Make it stop! Why did you leave?! Why did you shut me out?!"
"Clarity, my name's Aiden...I'm not—"
"Stop pretending! You're her! I know it!"
She stumbles backwards, pulling on her hair.
Through my blurring vision I see Hades and Bailey's body, and four of her.
They keep coming.
Blood soaks through my fingers, and onto the floor in a small pool next to me.
"Why did they kill you, Ayla?! Why?! I'll help you...I'll help you...just please...forgive me! Forgive me, Ayla!"
She sobs, and I stare at her.
"What did you do, Claire? What did you do?"
She drops something in front of me, a bloody necklace with a sapphire in the middle.
"My conscience...she...her...she's killing me...it's killing me! Help! Please!"
"Who killed her, Clarity?"
"He did!"
"Who's he?"
I gasp to get words in, blood draining too quickly from my stomach.
"I...I don't know!"
My eyes widen when I realize it.
She killed Ayla. Clarity's conscience is killing her from the inside...its making her hallucinate that she needs help. It's making her believe that she's really here.
*******
(ALEC'S POV)
The serpent demon grins at me, and I stare at it.
"What did you do to her?!"
"I just took her energy...she can't get rid of her true form forever..."
"What do you want?"
"Blood! Flesh! Human flesh! And you look like the perfect snack, Alec."
I back away as it comes closer, throwing an orb of black magic.
The monster dodges it, glaring at me.
"Are you trying to kill me, Alec?! I don't like it when you puny shapeshifters try to get in my way!"
A snake comes up from the ground, trying to bite my leg.
I step on it, purple blood splattering onto my leg before oozing into the dirt.
"Wow, why don't you look at that? A murder..."
"It's a damn snake."
I glare at her, and she smiles creepily.
"You know...Alec? I've changed my mind."
"What?"
I move my hair from my face with a small shake of my head, and she grins.
"I'll let you have your friend back...for now. Just know...I'll be back soon..."
She disappears back into Davina and I go back over to her, bending down.
"Vina? DD?"
Her body twitches, and she looks around frantically.
Davina grips onto my arm, dragging me closer to her.
"I found it."
"What? What did you find?"
"Shh! They'll hear you!"
Davina's dark eyes fill with pure fear as they track something behind me, her other hand over my mouth.
"I found the body."
********
(AIDEN'S POV)
"Clarity?"
She moves her eyes to mine.
"What?! What?!"
"I...I'm bleeding out...can you help?"
She looks at my lower half then my face.
"Okay."
She scooches closer, and I can hear her shallow breaths.
Something is wrong.
She places her hand over my stomach, watching as the wound cleans itself up and heals.
She then looks at me, frowning.
"He told me to kill you..."
"What?! Who?!"
"Dax. He told me that you were the one who killed Ayla. She isn't dead, is she?"
My eyes widen a little.
Dax.
The werewolf pack leader.
If he told her to kill me, then what about Pandora? And Althea?
"I don't know, Clarity. I've never seen her before."
Her shallow breaths become shallower.
"No...where is she?! Is she dead?! Who killed her?!"
I look into her pain stricken and regretful eyes, biting my lip before spitting it out.
"You killed her, Clarity. You killed Ayla."

(CLARITY'S POV)
FOUR YEARS AGO,
JULY 7th, 2017.
"Who were you with, Ayla?!"
I stare at her blankly, at the marks on her neck.
Ayla looks at me in fear.
"I swear, it's not what it looks like, Claire! I wouldn't cheat on you! I wouldn't—"
"Save it you dumb bitch!"
She goes silent, and I point a knife shakily at her.
"You...you tried to cheat me you little weasel!"
"Don't do this, please!"
I drop my hand down at my side, facing the camera towards her.
"What're you—"
"Shhh...just...just go with the flow."
I back her into the wall, holding the knife dangerously close to her.
I run it up from the start of her chest to her chin, flinching slightly when blood splatters all over me.
I back away and she falls with a loud splat, fresh blood staining my white shoes.
I drop down on my knees in the piling amount of blood, cocking my head to the side.
"Why so sad? Smile more..."
I carve a smile into her face, laughing silently before stabbing her again and again.
After a while I drop the knife, backing away.
Oh no.
What is this?!
"What did I—did I—no...Ayla?!"
No answer.
"Ayla, can you hear me?!"
No use.
Ayla was dead.
*******
I run over to the camera, stopping it.
I hold the cassette tape in my hand, throwing her mutilated body into a bag before running behind Darcy's house, and into the woods.
I run further and further until I believe I've gone far enough, digging a hole as fast as I possibly can before throwing it inside, her body and the tape of me killing her.
********
(ALEC'S POV)
"You found a body?"
She nods, pointing down at the dirt.
My blood runs cold when I see a pale finger sticking up from the ground, and move my eyes back to Davina.
"Who's body is this?"
"I don't know...I don't know..."
I look down again, digging slightly in the dirt to see a full human hand with a bracelet on it.
The stench is overwhelming and I fall backwards a little, gagging.
"That's definitely a body..."
Davina digs further, her hand hitting something.
"Huh?"
She pulls out a cassette tape, and my wide eyes Kandi on something mortifying.
Davina throws her hand over her mouth to mask a scream, because as we look down we see a dead girl's face with a smile carved into it...and a note on top of her.
Don't turn around unless you want to be next...your girlfriend's time is running out...

(AIDEN'S POV)
Clarity's breaths get faster.
"Me?! I didn't kill her...I didn't! I didn't! You're crazy! I would never kill her...my...my Ayla!"
She stares at me, a look of pure bloodlust in her eyes.
"It was you...you killed her! You—"
She looks at my face, eyes wide with fear.
She leans closer, wiping a tear from my face.
"I'm sorry for scaring you...I—"
I did the only thing I could think of.
The only thing I could think of to distract her.
I take her cheek in my hand, planting a kiss on her lips.
Her eyes widen, and Clarity looks at me.
"You—you know the truth."
"The truth? Clarity—"
"I killed her. I never died. A demon took me."
"What?!"
"I killed Ayla. I never died when I was 11."
I cock my head to the side.
"And that means—?"
"That I have to burn in hell."
"But—Clarity!? What are you trying to say?!"
"I have to burn in hell. I have to die. You have to die. Because if I can't have you, Ayla," her malicious gaze snaps onto me. "No one cam."

"Don't!"
"Why?! She's in trouble, Davina!"
"Don't turn around! She's there! Darcy! The thing that took Clarity! I know where they are, Alec. I know where Clarity and Aiden are."
"Where?! Where could they possibly be?!"
"Darcy's house. That's the warehouse."

I flinch.
Nothing.
Again...rolling...fire. Nothing.
Again...rolling...fire. Nothing.
Again. And again. And again.
"Aren't you lucky? But not anymore...I'm tired of keeping you alive you parasite!"
"What?!"
She pulls the trigger, first on me then on herself, falling with a loud thud onto the ground, a large pool of blood flooding around her.
I let out a gasp when the bullet pierces my chest, falling onto my knees before on the ground, my head landing in Clarity's blood as my own collects around me.
I hear a small giggle, then a voice that doesn't belong to Clarity.
"See you in hell..."

I turn around, letting out a breath when no one's there.
"Where's the house, Vina?!"
She points straight ahead, to a looming building hiding behind the trees.
"That's it! There!"
Just as we start running towards it we hear two loud shots, and Davina jumps.
"Oh no...what if we're too late?!"
We start to go faster when I grab her waist, teleporting us to the front.
"How do we get in?!"
"I don't know!"
I sigh, looking at the window in front of me before punching it, watching as it shatters from the force.
I grab Davina, throwing her in.
I climb in myself, shaking the blood from my hand before looking around.
"Where would they be?!"
"The upstairs bedroom."
I nod, and we run up a flight of stairs to get to the top, seeing dark red liquid seeping from underneath one of the doors.
"Is that it?!"
"Yeah!"
She runs over, pulling on the knob.
"It's locked!"
"I'll get it."
I back away before kicking it, the door flying down with a loud crash.
Davina gasps and my eyes widen.
A literal bloodbath.
Blood, blood, and—two bodies.
Our eyes move ahead to see a woman on the balcony, her hair blowing in the wind.
"Children! You made it!"
She climbs onto the balcony ledge, and Davina holds out her hand.
"What're you doing!"
"Isn't it obvious?!"
Humorless laughter.
"Jumping! With my little Clarity gone..."
She smiles.
"I see no reason to stay. I'll go back to hell with them."
"Darcy, stop this! What is happening!"
"Death! Isn't this what you've always wanted?!"
She turns around fully on the ledge, her eyes full of pure insanity.
"To see everyone die?! To see blood?! I've watched you, Davina, Alec, I've seen everything. Even little Clarity...couldn't get over the fact that she killed Ayla. Too bad she had to die for it."
Davina's face contorts.
"You're sick."
"I know. And I should burn in hell, right? Well...that's what I'm going to do!"
Before we can do anything Darcy falls backwards, and we hear a loud crack when she hits the ground.
Davina goes completely silent, running over to Clarity.
"Claire..."
Tears well up in her eyes.
"Claire, listen to me! We'll be okay...I'm sorry...please...please come back! Come back to me!"
My eyes move over to the other body and my heart drops.
"Aiden..."
I run over through the pool of blood, picking up her body.
"You're going to be okay...I promise you'll be okay..."
She's still breathing.
Every few seconds.
Her eyes open slightly, and her face twists in pain as she tries to speak.
"I'm sorry..."
"No! No...don't be sorry...stay with me! You're going to be fine...I'm going to help you."
"I...I love you...Alec..."
My eyes widen slightly as her eyes drift shut again, hugging her body against my chest.
"I…I love you too, sweetheart."
