When I was nine, my mother told me that on my eighteenth birthday, she would finally tell me about my dad. He had died three months before I was born. Aunt Mia, Dad's little sister, moved in to help Mom. Then, when I was twelve, Mom died. Aunt Mia and I moved to Joslyn, California.
I was enrolled in middle school and very quickly made five really good friends. The six of us are now seniors at Joslyn High School.
I'll be eighteen in two weeks, and I know next to nothing about my father.
