the clawfoot tub was huge and luxurious I could see myself having many wonderful bubble baths, the only other things adorning the bathroom was a gray granite top counter with a single individual sink on it and a small black mirror hanging above it. I then decide that it's now time to walk to the right side and find out what those rooms are like making a mental jot of all the things that need to be fixed. the first room on the right was a lot like the others this one probably needed to be retouched on paint and the door to the closet needed to be fixed otherwise fairly the same room and in decent condition. The second door was another bathroom this one much smaller and held a single shower instead of a tub, the shower does not have any type of door it was wide open and the wall had a little nook for shampoos and body washes, the whole floor looked like a very glossy tile that kind of dipped into the drain in the middle of the floor, the shower head hung down from the ceiling and was very large, the only other things in the bathroom was a matching sink and mirror like the other one had. I finally went to the last room at the end of the hallway which turned out to be a much smaller room much like a office or computer room this one had very small rectangular windows at the very top of the wall that had stained glass the room was very dark the dark blue stained glass did not let any light come through making me wonder why there was even windows in the first place. I open the closet and to my surprise I found a small picture frame something within me told me to move it call it like a feeling or intuition whatever it was had me reaching out for the frame before I even realized what I was doing, as soon as I touched the frame it lit up then the glass disappeared, behind it was a cubby hole a small little square with only a singular black button on the inside with a small symbol etched into it. I have never seen anything like this how did that glass light up and become invisible? glass just doesn't disappear. As I am debating in my head whether to press the button or to continue wondering what's going on my mom calls me down. "yeah, Mom coming." I shout down to her. I shake my head and stand up and as I look back down at the small cubby hole once again the glass is in the picture frame. "come on Cassidy, this box is heavy." my mom yells getting in the way of my curiosity I will be back for this button. We finished moving all the boxes and doing the heavy duty cleaning while my dad takes a piece of paper writing down all the things that need to be fixed and starts calling local construction to come and fix the house. after so many hours the house is finally coming together it's finally dark outside around one a.m. now, I decided to go with the last room on the right side of the hallway but told Mom and Dad that I wanted to make the room that was smaller across the hall my painting room hopefully keeping them out so I can discover what this button does, this button has been burning in my brain the whole time all I can think about is what it does. we also found out that there is a basement in the house it's very basic and large definitely dark before we could investigate and explore more within it, it will definitely need some lights, we were almost sure that there's an attic but we haven't been able to find a way to get to it you can definitely tell that there is a level right up above us but none of us had any luck finding a pull rope, door, stairs or anything to let us go up which is another curious thing about the home. My mom creeps around the door as I'm un-packing my box of clothes and bed set. "Cassidy we're going to bed, tomorrow we set out for our first month trip. If there's anything you need you know to call us. We sure are gonna miss you." she frowns at me. I get up to hug her "mom you know I'll be fine. I am used to you guys going on work trips and I am nineteen I should be alone." I smile at her and she giggles. "yeah you're definitely right about that." she lets go of me and kisses my forehead before she walks out to their room. I wait for the door to click and get up and run to the other room it is finally time to figure out what this button does. I open the door and It is pitch black, I turn my cellphone flashlight on so I don't bump into my paintings and paint supplies and wake the whole house. go to the closet, shut the door and sit down on the floor and go to touch the frame, I touch it's smooth finish and immediately it lights back up then turns hollow back to the cubby hole with the button I reach out to press it and when I do a sharp prick goes through my finger I jump immediately pulling the finger up to me to investigate surely enough a light red stream rolls down my finger. I turn my flashlight to the button but I don't see anything that can cause a puncture mark in my finger. "well that was just rude." the button did absolutely nothing other than make me bleed some how. I get up and walk out the door making a mental note to see if I need a tetanus shot after my parents leave in the morning ready to make my bed and crawl in it when I realize that the mirror that was at the end of the hallway is no longer there and there is a little room with stairs that go up to the top of the house, there are strange markings with what looks like blood on the walls of neatly drawn symbols lining all around the stairs and on the bottom of the floor as soon as I walk past the threshold the mirror comes back up, I am now blocked in here and unsure how I get out it's dark but there is light trickling in through the small window I also still have my flashlight. I try to reassure myself as I start to panic, I take some deep breaths and realize that there is only one way to go and that is upstairs, I pull the flashlight close to me holding it almost like a security blanket and began to walk up the stairs once I get to the top I noticed that there are two doors one on the left and one on the right. just like the little room downstairs this one has blood markings all over the wall as well it's very intimidating and spooky surely this was just a joke for the new family moving in or perhaps the previous owners were just absolutely insane. either way I remind myself that whatever was here is no longer here and that anybody or anything within these Walls would be dead because it has been years before anyone has been in this home. this calms me down a little. I've seen a dead body before that wouldn't scare me, it's more of what's alive that scares me because you honestly never know what they'll do. my instincts tell me to go right and I do my hand is trembling but I reach out and turn the knob without a hitch or creak the door swings open then my phone dies instantly taking all light I had before I could see anything and I trip the first step I take the door behind me slams shut. I am scared, in pitch blackness, afraid to move laying on the ground because I don't think that I am alone.
