Chapter 108 - Carnation 106

Third Person

"Miss Aksenov..."

...

"NOW!"

Their ears rang when she shouted aggressively. It's like she talked for the first time. The officer dropped the tranquilizer gun to the ground, and the grey-haired boy calmed down upon hearing the girl roaring at them. It was new, but it felt like a great crisp on his ears.

"Saccharide," she called, and he looked up before smiling.

...

"I'm witnessing against you."

His jaw dropped, and his fingers trembled as he tried to convince himself not to panic, but her stone-cold face made it hard for him.

He was paralyzed.

Even if the guards went to him and cuffed his hands together, he didn't move. Two men pushed him against the floor hard, yet his eyes were still fixated on the girl walking away. Miraculously, he was able to get himself out of the cuffs, crawl fast and grovel at the girl's feet. He hugged her feet and cried out her name.

Lightly, Raine shook her legs to get Saccharide off and walked away instantly, "They knew about the scars. And I'm going to testify against you," she said before hugging Attorney Ameurfina tightly as she could.

Raine released her hug when a familiar figure walked inside the room with a serious look on his face, "Prosecutor Marshall!" she exclaimed and sided beside him. Still, the grey-haired boy broke his cuff again before crawling and making his way to hug Raine's legs again.

"Ms. Aksenov... I said you couldn't talk with the accused," he reminded her.

"Damn right, she can!"

Attorney Ameurfina bent down to Saccharide's level and lifted his chin, and stated to his face, "According to the customs, a witness from the opposing side must not interact with the convict. It may damage the witness's thinking, reasoning, and touch with the truth."

He released his chin, "They are only allowed to talk during a court session, so Saccharide, please cooperate because she's trying her best to work with them..."

As she stood up, a smug-looking Prosecutor who has his hand crossed in front of him faced her, "Oh, Mrs. Baernaise... We meet again," said the Prosecutor while eyeing her up and down.

The woman forced a smile and nodded, "Sir Lux..."

She instantly averted her gaze after that small interaction, but the older man insisted on talking more.

"Are you just taking his case to battle with me?" he teased.

"I am here to prove his innocence," answered the woman.

Prosecutor Marshall wasn't satisfied and continued to throw remarks at her, "And to prove yourself perhaps?"

She didn't get to answer that one when Raine whimpered as Saccharide clawed his nails on her thighs, just to keep hugging her. They could've tased him, but it was too risky for he was struggling, and they might tase the girl instead.

"Saccharide!" said Attorney Ameurfina warningly before trying to pull Raine away from the persistent male, "Let her go..."

"No!" he protested and wiped his face against the girl's pants, not caring if he was staining it with his lukewarm tears, "Continue arguing with each other. See? It's working! I am able to hold her longer!"

"Saccharide," she called again, putting her right hand on his head before stroking his hair gently to get his attention, "Let me go..."

...

"Do you want me to?" he asked, followed by a tear escaping his glossy eyes.

"That's what I said..." Raine sweetly said and forced her legs out of his embrace.

Saccharide calmed down that the guards could get his hands double cuffed and drag him away to be seated. He kept his eyes on his maiden as they gave her water; she gladly took it and drank it straight. Suddenly, a slice of memory struck past his eyes causing him to flinch and grit his teeth. But then a boy with the same hair color as his entered before hugging her tightly. A blonde girl entered with a timid expression before Raine hugged her.

Klavier and Racquel. What a predicament!

Klavier noticed Saccharide's pissed expression and sashayed her way towards him, "Cut that crappy expression, Saccharide. You just wanted someone to suffer from your fake disorder. You don't really love her," he whispered and gave the boy a smug smile, "This is exactly why your friends will talk against you..."

Chuckling at the farce of a sentence, Saccharide came back, "I'd rather have a flesh-eating virus as a friend before I consider you as one!"

Klavier tensed, and his foundation covering his face melted as his cheeks reddened. Still, he can't stop laughing inside his mind just by seeing the grey-haired boy with restraints around his wrists and ankles, "Mom, I don't know why you're helping him, but— you'll just lose your hair for trying," he teased before leaving Saccharide a look of victory.

That didn't rile Saccharide up until Klavier decided to hug Raine and kiss her on her forehead.

What surprised him is that his girl hugged him back with the same tightness.

"Bastard!" Saccharide shouted and tried to break out of his bindings, but the guards forced him down. Two guards weren't enough to tame him down, so they got two more men to stick him in his seat. He called her lover's name a few more times before Racquel hugged him to whisper, "We're all called to witness and answer some questions. I'm sorry..."

Klavier's superhuman senses heard her and decided to butt in the conversation, further angering the convict held down, "Except for me... Apparently, I cannot do that because my mother is your defendant. Such a waste! I would've burned you to the ground," he cockily brought his tongue out to blow raspberries on him.

The prosecutor called them, and they both made their way on Raine's side. As they were about to exit the door, Saccharide called Raine's name again.

"Raine!"

She looked back while Klavier clicked his tongue in annoyance. He tried pulling Raine to walk again, but she insisted on waiting for what Saccharide was about to say.

"You still love me, right dear?"

He asked.

"We're still lovers, right Gorgeous?"

He asked again before Raine could even open her lips.

...

"Not now, Saccharide."

...

"Right now, we're enemies..."

At that moment, time stopped working so is his heart.
