Chapter 80 - Carnation 78

Third Person

Paris, France: Heinz Manor

5:00 P.M.

There are many things she doesn't understand. The beginning of the universe. Her life as a curse. But Dione's whole virtues topped them all. All of her theories about the boy doesn't add up, he was more confusing than balancing atomic numbers in chemistry. Nevertheless, she still follows him as he was the knowledgeable one to execute this heist. Raine handed him her phone, but she swore that she put up a good fight over the dominance of her device.

"Why do I have to give you my phone?" Like a whiny child, she asked as she watched her white-haired companion store her phone in his pocket, "It has all of my alarms and contacts," she added, hoping it'll pursue him to give it back to her.

Dione turned to her and said, "This mission of yours is alarming, but it doesn't mean you need alarms," Waving his index finger in front of her face, Dione teased her further by making compliments about her festive dress. The boy pointed out that Saccharide's father is a fan of first impression fashion so, they had to go downtown and buy a red off-shoulder dress with a matching pair of black heels. Her hair was professionally done by the most unexpected person she could think of — with a few hair clips and a cheap brush, Dione was able to make her messy hair a wonderful garland paradise.

Needless to say, it was another interesting unraveling of discovery.

"I think you're ready," Dione pushed the girl forward after taking care of the fallen strands on her hair back in their arrangement, "Now, go inside, talk and exit..."

"Is that all?" Raine asked and tried not to stumble in her 4-inch heels.

Dione positioned himself in a thinking stance. After a few seconds, he snapped his fingers and casually said, "Try to stay alive," that made the girl regret the choices she made this day, "Remember if you are killed by his father, the son of the father will kill me so, please stay alive..."

She stuttered and tried to compromise with the male, "Aren't you going to accompany me?"

"There's many accompanies inside the mansion," he chuckled and whispered the next things while rewinding to his first moments in the manor. The things he saw were enough to make him view the world as a container of the devil, such as Saccharide's father, "Most of them are dead, but it's the presence that counts..."

He remembered giving a nickname to the man — A real-life breathing life reaper. Hearing the girl's heels moving forward, he watched as she was milliseconds away from pushing the button on the bricked wall. Dione pulled her and throw her on the floor before freezing in place. He waited for a sound of metal opening, but there wasn't any. That's when he sighed in relief while the girl stood up and dusted her behind.

Enraged, she charged at the teen and complained, "I'm going in! What's your problem?"

"No!" The male grunted and led the girl to his side, "Ugh! You've got a lot to learn!"

Raine protested, "But you just said!" — but was shushed by the boy's slender digit.

"I was testing you!" Dione reasoned and rolled his eyes, "You can't, under in any circumstances, enter that mansion without a survival plan," he lectured passionately like he was telling the flow in a battle plan, "One day in Junior High school, we've got to plan for a month just to meet Saccharide's dad!"

Tired of the boy's liking to cinematic effects, Raine whined and pointed her index to the gate buzzer, "Why can't you just go with me?"

"I'm here to help and improve you, not protect!" Again, Dione said, "So, this is the plan. Better listen because I'm giving it to you!"

Pulling out his phone from his pocket, he explained the plan, "I'm got a messaging app in my phone," Dione scrolled the messaging app and taught the girl how to use it, "You have to let me hear your conversation by calling me..."

Raine asked after nodding to that part of the discussion, "Why?"

"So, I can detect the shift in his voice. I'll activate a vibrating movement to your phone," Dione instructed carefully and made the girl feel the vibrating signal, "That's the signal that you have to change the phase of your conversation because he's getting angry and it's only a matter of time, he'll rip your head off and feed it to himself..."

The girl listened carefully as to it sounded like a lot of data to take in, "Two vibrating movements means, 'Get the hell out of there.' Run, hide, and don't look back and meet me outside," the boy shook her a little as he said that part. While she nodded and wondered where to conceal the location of her phone, "Where will we hide the phone?"

"Here," Without malice on his gesture, Dione dug his hand to explore the bra pocket she made to store her card and change from the bar.

"B- back off!" Raine screeched and tried to scratch the male teen away.

"Is there any other place you wish to insert this vibrating signal?" Dione asked and they bought scanned the girl from top to bottom until they both stopped at her feminine area. Raine squealed and cursed herself for thinking such a thought. Once again, the male was right so he took it upon himself to reward himself a winning chuckle, "That's what I thought.

"Another thing," he remembered, "If he offers you a drink or anything edible or anything at all—" The boy waited for the female to look at him before he continued, "Accept it," his diction hardened ad he lectures, "He'll go ballistic if you won't..."

Raine did not dare to question his statements and just lend him her ears as if they were his own, "Trust me. A general like him kills with weapons and bare hands, but entertains visitors with luxurious wine and fancy buffet," a chill ran down his arms as he explained further.

After all of his explanations and from what it seems, horror narration, the normal gate a while ago appeared chilling and gigantic for the girl as if all the rusts and paint peelings became more evident. Still not feeling her adrenaline to enter, she found herself clinging tightly to Dione's arms while he just stared at the girl beside him.

He wasn't comfortable with this, but it didn't feel wrong either.

Raine's hand was brushed off by the male before she asked, "How do you know all this?"

"I've entered these gates of hell for more than the fingers I have," said the male and looked at the castle-like roof of the manor, "And thankfully, I didn't lose any of them while doing so..."

Raine gasped when Dione suddenly guided her hand to push the red button on the wall,

"Don't let your pretty finger be the first one on his wall," he let go of her hands and slowly back away, putting his hands on his pockets.

"Now go!" He commanded, but she walked towards him and offered her hand to him, motioning to give her something she needed, "What is that for?" He raised a brow and acted confused, "You know what you need to know— now go!"

Smiling to his convincing method of acting, Raine dug her hand in his side sanctuary and pulled out her device, "I need my phone," she said before putting it in between her bra and tried her best, not to blush.

Still continuing his clueless disguise, he asked, "Why?"

The girl started doubting her own instinct and reached for the phone between her breasts again. Not long after, Dione laughed and let the girl put it back.

"Alright! You got me...Good, you passed my first guide: Sometimes the clues are within the words, not the actions," he said with great caution as the girl nodded. The metal screeching against each other was heard and before they knew it, the gate was opened and a man dressed in a servant suit was waiting with a charming smile.

"Remember what I told you," Dione whispered and finally let go of the girl.
