Reborn Imperium Date 0-0000-004
**Ground Base Alpha**
IA personnel would take shifts guarding the boardering nano wire fences. Many reported seeing animals returning, some familiar in historical records others that are unknown. Each one is scared off easily by the usual flickering of spotlights that were set up or the roaring start of military engines. The 82nd Chimera Corps went out on small excursions ouyside the wire to bring back water and game if able. With Zero spearheading the operation. High Admiral Ulysses oversees the construction and expansion of Alpha base with the help of IN personnel taking on Engineering tasks.
In a biolab underneath the base Ryk-ard work with the remaining researchers to study the fauna and wildlife of this planet brought back by the 82nd. So far studies show the wildlife and fauna show similar properties to old earth archived data. With some being more closely related while others are vastly different both in genetic makeup and physical structure. Both work tirelessly with the help of their emergency stash of synthetic coffee to gather data day and night to ensure survivabilty of the Reborn Imperium remained absolute on this new world.
At the supply dock, Empress Karios can be seen with her IPG and IG working together to offload supplies from the battleship. Everyone who watched this display doubled their efforts seeing the Empress working along side them. This Reborn Imperium was looking brighter for everyone apart of this vessel, for they had nowhere else to turn.
Over at the medical wing many personnel were starting to recover from their physical injuries. However many were left with emotional scars like Lieutenant Octavia whom is currently laying on a medical bed moving her left mechanical arm to ensure proper calibration.
"He's really dead isn't he." Octavia looked out of this world, in terms of physical and mental fatigue. The Senior Gunmen sat beside her both hands clasped infront of him as he used it to rest his head.
"Yes Ma'am, he really is dead. Him and many others on the ship have died and there isn't a single damned thing either of us could of done about it. We have to live with the fact that we have to pick up the slack in their absence. So everyone who is alive, who is breathing here and now can continue on with their memories." He shed tears saying this, in the span of a few moments the friends he came to knew and love suddenly vanish in a blink of an eye before a hub gate closed infront of him. All he can see is the blood staining the viewport boiling in the vacume of space. He would feel a mechanical hand rest on his left shoulder.
"Promise we won't forget their memories." Both Octavia and the Senior Gunmen silently cried for their fallen friends.
Over at the vehicle depot Commander Jaeger with some engineers went to work overhauling the engines of most vehicles to get them back to working conditions. Some lightweight vehicles like buggies were constructed for reconnaissance missions while some cargo freighters with repulsion technology were the only readily avalible vehicles. Some freighters were outfited for military use in case armed convoys were needed in the near future. Some mech components survived the crash but only one mech survived the crash virtually undamaged, it was the mech Jerry riveted.
**Two Kilometers from base, 82nd Chimera Corps**
"Captains log, the forests are treacherous and filled with danger at every turn. If not for the quick wits of me and those under my command none would make this current recording." Alpha was being all stoic until a water pouch exploded against his head. Followed by the roaring laughter of his company.
"Good one Captain stoic, why don't we show that to Zero for a laugh, he might actually make a sound for once with that recording." Beta would be howling with laughter with his men.
"Shouldn't we be acting all cool and shit for the guys back at base? They might need something to take them off edge after all." Alpha would wipe his head clean with a field towel.
"Those who died were weak, those who live are strong. Nothing much to process there, am I right Beta Company?" Both Beta and his company howled into the evening sky before returning to their mission to hunt game.
Alpha Company took the opposite path, searching for a viable water source until they find Zero laying with their back against a tree.
"Hey Zero, I don't think napping is a option at the moment. Come on I can smell water nearby." Alpha stretched his hand towards Zero but there was no response. Alpha decided to kick Zero's leg which in turn made him fall over.
"General? General Zero wake up. Hey come on! I need a stretcher we have a man down, ready weapons for a possible attack!" Alpha never removed himself from Zero's side while his troops took up blades and laser pistols ready to fight. The stretcher was made and Zero placed over it, with the help of four soldiers Zero and Alpha Company returned to Alpha Base.
A hour passed before Alpha Company returns which puts the entire base on edge seeing the general on a stretcher. Alpha Company aside from the Captain and four holding the stretcher reinforce the nano wire fencing. The ones with the General make their way to the Laboratory underneath the base.
"Ryk, Ard! General is down, we don't see any external wounds but he isn't responding to anything. You have to help us figure out what's going on!" Alpha was pleading to the two, which promptly dropped what they're doing to examine the body. They put Zero into a multi-spectrum scanning device which lets doctors see the very bone marrow of their patients. From all of their tests going on for twenty minutes they've concluded a few things.
"First, Zero is still alive, however there is something interfering with our instruments near his heart. So either there's a parasitic organism that can displace radiation, or we're looking at this worlds version of a plague. As of now everyone you've came in contact with will now be quarantined until we resolve the.. Did someone turn up the heat?" Ard would be a little faint falling back towards Ryk.
"Seraph, Quarantine procedures Code Alpha Bravo Sierra!" Suddenly the nano wire fence turns into a solid wall thanks to material siphoned from the ship. Alpha base suddenly became a bubble where none can enter or leave.
"Notice: Quarantine procedure ABSOLUTE initialization completed." Beta Company heard the voice in the distance and double timed back to base. But soon they were at a standstill for their members fell to the dirt one by one. Until Beta was the last to fall trying to drag one of his men back to base.
One after another everyone in the facilty dropped like flies, many fighting whatever was hitting them so hard but to no avail. Even the Empress with her IPG did their best to stay awake before falling, but for the Empress she stood up long enough to hear the words of something angelic in nature, but also synthetic.
"System initialization sequences started, welcome~"
