"Still no sign of that freak, look's like he got the message" One of the wolf's standing guard walked over to Denahi and Sakara, placing their spear down and taking a seat near the fire, pulling off his fingerless gloves and laying them next to them, raising their paws to it to warm their hands. He had greyish brown fur with a mix of dark grey and brown and he had green eyes. He had an armband with feathers attached to it.
"He had already pushed his luck attacking Athena and that boy, but now he will think twice" the other wolf who was on watch came over as well, sitting down in an untaken spot with her bow, running a paw through her mane. Her fur was like that of a normal wolf, with brown, dark grey, black and white, she had a band around her upper arm. She also wore a belt round her waist with a pouch as well as wrappings on her lower arms, her eyes were icy blue.
"What make's you think he won't just come back with his entourage?" another wolf next to them was also trying to warm their paws up. He had only black and white as his fur colours with a black back and white chest and snout. His eyes were a darker blue, he wore a band around his right arm with bands on both knees and a charm round his neck.
"Maybe, maybe not, we'll be prepared no matter what, Sam, come with me, we're next. Meika and Zion get some rest while you can. Sakara, check on the boy and my sister." Denahi stood up and walked to the edge of the light, the black and white wolf stood and walked to the other side of the camp.
Sakara checked the mug, making sure it wouldn't burn her before picking it up and walking back over to the tent, the steam rising from the metal cup. She lifted the tent flap and entered, the human was still struggling to fall asleep, he sat there looking out at the small window of the tent with a firm grip on his gun, he didn't even blink until he heard Sakara enter.
"Here, this should help warm you up" Sakara handed the mug to Tyler who had put down his rifle and took the mug, being careful not to spill it. He sipped the water, exhaling as he drank the warm liquid.
"Thanks" the boy said.
"Your welcome, now, I do need to check on her so do you mind if I come over?" Tyler nodded, shifting out of the way as Sakara moved over to check over Athena. Rolling her over, she examined her, looking for anything that might need her attention, there were some shredded pieces of cloth around her limbs, as if Athena had made some temporary wrappings. Sakara peeled them away one by one to reveal some nasty cuts and bruises, several look like they would take a long time to heal.
Sakara got to work again, taking out her cloth and pouring on the alcohol to clean off the cuts. She wiped over them, Athena wincing in her slumber as Sakara did so. She finished with the cleaning and started to bandage up the cuts and wounds where the makeshift ones had been previously. Athena still didn't wake up, but at least she was fine for now.
"There, that should do it, she should be fine by morning, she just needs time" Sakara rolled Athena over, pulling the blankets back up over her and placing her head back onto a makeshift pillow. The wolf turned to the human, who was still sitting up watching her.
"Why don't you try to get some sleep, you need it just as much as she does right now" Tyler sat still, a look of worry and tiredness on his face, he clearly was tired, but he really wanted to keep an eye on Athena. After coming to this conclusion, Sakara scooted over and motioned for him to come over, he did so and she stretched out her arm and pulled him close, rubbing his back.
"Please, you can not stay awake all night, you will just dose off during the day, I understand that you don't want to and that you want to look after her just as much as I do. But remember, there's a pack out there now, and they will make sure that nothing get's in here and harm her. Her brother Denahi, will fight tooth and nail for her, he will travel to the deepest depths of hell for his sister. So please, get some rest, you can stay next to her if you would like, do it for me, okay?"
The boy sat quietly, knowing that what Sakara said was right, he contemplated it. He did have enough blankets to cover both of them and could make a few pillows out of whatever he could find, he did remember that he brought a big thick blanket from home, one that could cover himself and Athena perfectly with some left over.
"Okay" The human said, tiredly.
"Good, I going to report to Denahi, and when I come back, I want to see you sound asleep, okay?"
Tyler let out a small laugh, "Who are you my mum?"
Sakara laughed too, before pulling her arm back and going to the tent flap, she took one last look at Tyler.
"Sleep, got that?"
Tyler nodded with a smile smile on the corner of his face.
"Good, well good night Tyler"
"Good night Sakara" Sakara exited the tent, leaving the boy on his own with the sleeping golden wolf next to him. He went about with his task, going through his burgeon to find the blanket, he did find it eventually, although he did have to give it a strong tug to pull it out, which nearly made him fall onto Athena. He removed the several small blankets that covered Athena and quickly layed the big blanket on her. Pulling his sleeping bag over next to her, he made sure she got a little extra of the blanket. Tyler grabbed the other smaller ones and covered her with them as well, rolling up a few of them to make some pillows.
Once he was done, Tyler climbed into his sleeping bag, closing it up and pulling the hood over his head. As he rolled into a comfortable position, he felt an arm lay itself on him, he turned his head and saw that Athena had pulled him closer, hugging him like a teddy bear.
Tyler didn't mind, at least he had some friendly company if he had any nightmares, he rolled back over to her, burying his head into her chest fur, closing his eyes, he managed to fall asleep shortly after.
