We continued eating breakfast and laughed as we talked about past vacations and jokes. I never expected I would be back here again, able to see my family. As we ate all I could think about how I could protect my family, in exactly one year an outbreak will occur. This causes thousands of deaths around New York City, my family included.
I had to think of a way to get stronger, but the thing was I have no ability. Those who can fight demons on equal grounds are those part of the CDA or private mercenaries. And to even possess an ability you need to have the genes necessary, and my family does not have it.
"Mylo you seem so out of it today. Is everything okay?"
I looked at my dad, and could see an expression I've never seen in him before, he was worried about me.
"yes father, everything is okay, I am just thinking about school."
"School? Aren't you on early break?"
I paused and remembered that this year, a small outbreak occurred, over a dozen low ranked demons went rampant killing a few hundred causing school to end earlier than before.
"Ahhhh…. Yes I uhhhh… I was talking about when I get back, how everything is going to go back to normal."
And before my father could talk, he was interrupted by a few knocks followed by the doorbell.
'Dun dun dun dinggg donggg'
My father stood up, putting his fork and napkin on the table. He opened the door, and two men dressed in black and green uniforms stood next to each other.
"He doesn't look like what '3' described him to be"
"Silent C rank Ai, excuse my subordinate's manners. I am B rank Link, and he, C rank Ai. We are part of the CDA, we are looking for a male, living in the Johnson household who has just awoken to his latent abilities."
My father look towards the table with a confused look, and looked back to the two CDA officers.
"sorry you must have the wrong Johnson family, my family and I don't have any abilities, we do not carry any of the genes."
The two officers looked at my father, and the one who seemed to lack manners gently moved my father to the side, allowing the taller, more mature inside the house. He began walking towards the dining table and pulled out a device.
"This will only take a second, and we will let you go by your day."
"What the hell do you think you are doing, I didn't give yo..."
The man with my father put his hands on my dad's shoulders, giving him a look that froze my father in place.
The mature man pointed the device at my older brother first.
"Not you… Then it must be you"
He pointed the device directly at me, and began to glow Yellow.
"Yellow? I haven't heard of a yellow before, how about you C Rank Ai?"
The reckless officer let go of my father and quickly appeared next to his fellow mate.
"I don't believe it, oh… it's still weak probably can't even compete against F rank demons though, because we never heard of it before."
"So, sorry Mr. Johnson but your youngest son has awaken to an ability. And according to Article IV, Section V: Those who awaken to an ability must enroll to the academy to begin training to fight against the abnormal vast amount of demons appearing."
My father began to walk towards the two officers and was shaking.
"that's impossible, my family doesn't possess any of the genes, how is this possible??? And you just can't take my son!!!"
The mature one looked at my father and gave him a terrifying look.
"Its for his own good. And in some rare cases, the genes present themselves without them being present. I am such a case myself, the details will arrive in one week's time, please enjoy the rest of your breakfast. Kid you are coming with us."
And just like that, I was taken by force to the CDA to train my "Ability" that I somehow possess. This was not anything like my past life, and I was way too confuse to know what was happening, but before I knew it, the reckless officer put his hand on my shoulder and his partner's and we teleported near a tall building with big black letters spelling, 'Counter Demon Agency Academy'.
"Welcome to your home for the next three years kiddo hehehe"
"Quiet C rank Ai, sorry for how we had to do this kid, but you need to meet with someone that will explain everything to you. He wanted me to tell you this, "Welcome back to your past" I personally don't know what 'he' was talking about but you will learn soon enough."
