Ji Younai was feeling aggrieved and wronged.
She had never wanted to become the mistress of this home
'What is this old woman blabbering about? Why does she seem to have a strong hatred towards me?'
The two of them were chased out of "Ms. Wen's room" by Granny Yang.
Liu Yun grimaced at Granny Yang's back and turned to ask Ji Younai, "Who is Ms. Wen?"
'Ms. Wen… She's Wen Yu, right?'
That was the name she had heard Gong Siyu say just now.
Toying with her bottom lip, Ji Younai pouted and answered, "She's someone who is very important to Gong Siyu! Let's go, let's go! let's not get into trouble! We can't run around in someone else's home."
"Hey, I thought you were the one who was very important to that demonic man!"
Ji Younai cracked up, laughing at the nickname that Liu Yun had given Gong Siyu.
"Nonsense! He and I are just friends who have been through a life-and-death situation and escaped the asylum together, so we're… considered good friends or something like that, right?"
Liu Yun remained silent.
He simply shot her a glance that seemed to say, "Don't think you can fool me just because I'm not that smart."
Ji Younai had already heard Wen Yu's name for the umpteenth time.
She became even more interested in that name, and Wen Yu herself.
'Will Gong Siyu be very angry if he finds out that I casually went inside her room? They must be very close to each other then… right?'
She was filled with envy and her heart felt a little heavy.
'If Gong Siyu and Ms. Wen really have a close and intimate relationship, why is he so nice to me? Is he taking pity on me, an underprivileged member of society, so he has decided to give me donations and help me selflessly?'
When Gong Siyu and Bai Feiran walked out of the study, they saw Ji Younai and Liu Yun sitting on the white marble steps at the top of the stairs, spacing out listlessly.
He shot Liu Yun a glance, warning him not to get too close to Ji Younai.
Gong Siyu pulled Ji Younai towards him and held onto her tiny hand, leading her away in a bid to bring her downstairs to have dinner together.
However, Ji Younai seemed to be a little resistant, as she refused to let him touch her.
"What's wrong? Am I not allowed to hold your hand?"
Gong Siyu had gotten used to being lawless and getting his way all the time.
He had never stopped acting like a spoiled Young Master. Thus, he raised his brows, throwing a fit with a simple stern gaze of displeasure.
Ji Younai pouted, grimacing at Gong Siyu as she skipped down the stairs.
"I just don't want to let you hold my hand!"
Liu Yun followed Ji Younai and caught up with her.
When he brushed shoulders with Gong Siyu, he humphed gently and scolded him, "Jerk!"
The ambiance during dinner was silent and full of tension.
Gong Si Yu did not take a single bite of the food, simply staring at Ji Younai, whose mouth was full of vegetables and meat.
'She doesn't even want to let me hold her hand. I don't think I've made her upset, have I?'
To Gong Siyu's surprise, the Yue Family showed up halfway through dinner.
He didn't expect the people from the Yue Family to arrive so soon. He had only given them a call over an hour ago, and the sky had just turned dark. Yet, they'd already arrived.
To Gong Siyu's disbelief, the aged Yue Chaoqun had shown up in person!
He showed up abruptly with three of his sons, catching Gong Siyu off guard.
The butler informed him that their cars had already been driven through the sculpted iron gates and were moving towards the mansion.
Gong Siyu stood up to welcome them personally.
Ji Younai and Liu Yun were clueless about what was going on. They were not full yet and were still stuffing themselves silly. As a result, they did not follow Gong Siyu out to take a look
Three military Audi A8s slowly stopped in front of the gate.
The first one to get out was the eldest son of the Yue Family, Yue Jianxun, who was almost 50 years old. He had a high status and was a high-ranking Major General.
Next was Old Master Yue's second son, Yue Changxun, the Chief-of-staff of a military district, who was almost 40 years old.
Then, it was his third son, Yue Chengxun, a deputy ministerial officer of the defense department in his early thirties.
Lastly, it was the old General Yue Chaoqun, who was helped out of the car by his sons.
Yue Chaoqun got out of the car while supporting himself on a walking stick. As soon as he saw Gong Siyu, he became extremely excited.
"Kid from the Gong Family! You said that my son is at your place? Is he really here?"
Gong Siyu stepped forward to help him out of respect for an elder.
Smiling faintly in an elegant and noble manner, he said, "I wasn't lying to you. If I really dared lie to you, my father would whip me hard." After a pause, he continued, "He's having dinner in the dining hall. Please come in, take a seat and have some tea while I go call him."
Grinning widely, Old Master Yue suppressed his excitement and entered the house with Gong Siyu.
While Liu Yun was chewing some pig trotters, Gong Siyu strode into the dining hall and told him to stop eating.
"Why aren't you letting me eat? I've never had such delicious meat before."
Placing a hand on his forehead, Gong Siyu said, "Your family members are here to bring you home."
Startled, Liu Yun dropped the pig trotter on the ground.
"I have family members? Why didn't I know that before?"
With folded arms and raised brows,Gong Siyu looked at him condescendingly, explaining coldly, "I've already found them for you. Aren't you going to go see them?"
Liu Yun remained seated, simply staring at Liu Yun with a frown.
"Won't they be scared of my eyes? They're red." He wanted to keep speaking but stopped himself. "You, Younai, and that Bai Feiran are the only ones who don't mind my red eyes..."
Ji Younai watched as the wishy-washy Liu Yun got dragged out of the dining hall by Gong Siyu. Hearing that Liu Yun's family had arrived, she too put down her chopsticks and sneaked out to see what was going on.
There was a separate guest hall in the mansion, furnished and decorated in a tasteful style.
Yue Chaoqun was seated, a cup of excellent Biluochun tea in his aged hands. He did not drink any of the tea, simply looking at the door of the guest hall, both excited and nervous.
"Sons, you must smile when you see your youngest brother! Don't treat him the way you usually treat your subordinates! I heard from the kid of the Gong Family that your youngest brother has been through a lot of suffering. We must let him feel the warmth of the Yue Family, understood?"
"Yes, Father," the three men chorused in unison, seated upright on the couch. Their nonchalant expressions became warm and affable, showing a sense of affection that came from the bottom of their hearts…
Before Liu Yun entered the guest hall, he continuously pestered Bai Feiran for the sunglasses he wore during the day. He explained that he didn't want to scare his family.
However, Bai Feiran did not give them to him.
Regardless, Old Master Yue burst into tears practically the moment Liu Yun appeared in the guest hall.
"Why is he so skinny! Kid, did you not give him enough food?"
Indignantly shaking his cane, the agitated Old Master Yue glared at Gong Siyu in fury.
Gong Siyu wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. "Old Master, you have wronged me by saying that."
"Well, it's also true that he couldn't have starved to the point of becoming this thin overnight."
Old Master Yue wiped his tears.
His eldest son, Yue Jianxun, who was beside him, comforted him, saying, "Father, calm down. Let's let Little Brother take a seat and explain everything slowly."
Yue Jianxun waved his hand at Liu Yun and said, "Little Brother, come sit here with me. I'm your big brother."
Liu Yun hung his head very low and tried his best not to scare his "family members," who had come to acknowledge him.
Suddenly, Old Master Yue spoke up, "Child, are you afraid of scaring us with your red eyes? Don't be afraid! When you were born, your brothers all carried you, so they know that you have a unique pair of eyes."
Upon hearing this, Liu Yun suddenly looked up and asked, "Really?"
Almost as soon as Liu Yun looked up, Yue Chaoqun determined that the young boy in front of him was indeed his youngest son, who had been born when he was becoming old. However, they hadn't been able to decide on a name for him before he was abducted.
From the doorway of the guest hall, Ji Younai secretly watched as Liu Yun sat down to chat with his family.
There was endless envy in her beautiful almond-shaped eyes.
