I played with the suds, pushing them back and forth. The bathroom was steamy as the strong scent of lavender hung in the air. Our bubble bath was getting lukewarm, but neither of us acknowledged this.
"You're awfully quiet for someone who had a lot to say a few moments ago," I said, finally breaking through the steam cloud.
"What do you mean?" Matt asked.
I could feel his voice vibrating through me as I lay between his thighs, my back on his broad chest. This was an intimacy neither of us was used to.
"You know, back at the couch," I whispered, tracing my fingers along his thigh. His pale skin danced with goosebumps at my touch. "I am sorry I interrupted you."
He chuckled then, a deep chuckle that rippled through my core. I was amusing him, in some way. I hoped this mood lasted long enough for us to get to know more about each other.
