Chapter 64 - Telemarketing Call

Albion took a deep breath to calm down his violent urges.

Once his emotion was stabilized and under control, he picked up the call before calmly answering in a peculiar telemarketing accent before the other side could speak first, "Ello, this is PC-Fix-Fast-And-Easy answer'in. Thank you for call'in in. How may I help you today, good sir?"

[…]

The other side was immediately struck speechless by Albion's introduction.

After waiting a few moments of no response, Albion continued to speak, "If you are look'in to get your computer fixed, you have called the right place, good sir. For the low price of $499, a special discounted offer just for you, good sir, we can get started right away!"

[…Sorry. Wrong number.]

Beep.

The call was hung up shortly after the person spoke in a deep and heavy voice.

Inside the penthouse located on the top floor of Royal Pearl Hotel, a middle-aged man in a formal black suit sat on a luxurious white couch while gazing out the wide-open balcony.

After pulling the phone away from his ear and double-checking the dialed number, he shifted his gaze to the side before asking gloomily, "What is the meaning of this? I asked you to get me that person's number, yet you give me the number to some telemarketing call center?"

"B-Boss? I don't know what you mean. I did precisely as you asked and got the person's number through our connections. They shouldn't have the courage to give me a fake number." Said the lackey in black suit.

The middle-aged man's brows furrowed deeply before he said, "They wouldn't dare, but would you dare? You would, right?"

"I certainly wouldn't dare, Boss Gai! I would not joke about this matter!" The lackey cried in defense. The boss's dangerous look made him shivered with fear.

"Then answer me this, if you're not the one f*cking with me, then it's this person, who doesn't even know who is calling him—that is f*cking with me instead?" The boss queried with a narrowed look.

"Yes.. probably." The lackey shivered with dread before changing his tone, "I mean—yes, Boss Gai!"

Boss Gai snorted before redialing the phone number on loudspeaker before placing it on the glass table in front.

Beep.

The call quickly connected.

"Hello again, good sir. Now I am definitely confident that your computer has a virus, good sir. Please don't hesitate to save your important files. Send the required amount to 1800-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Once we receive the money, we can commence the virus removal for you immediately."

Albion's voice was clearly heard by every man in black suit gathered around the glass table before Boss Gai reached for the gun in his left chest pocket underneath the blazer.

Obviously, everyone understood that it was not just a telemarketing person speaking—but a telemarketing scammer!

"Boss Gai, I can explain! This must be some mistake—"

Bang!

The lackey was shot dead in the head before he dropped to the floor, motionless with his eyes rolled back and his tongue stuck out.

He did not get to finish pleading for his life.

"Someone, go clean up the floor and get this fool out of my sight." The boss casually stowed away his handgun before he said, "Someone else, go fetch me that person's number—the correct number this time!"

"Yes, Boss Gai!"

The men in black suits complied.

However, one of the men in black suits suddenly mentioned with doubt, "Telemarketing call centers usually use those outdated telephones… not to mention this is obviously a mobile number… how else did the person know the boss was calling again? Also, what kind of bank account number was that?"

Once this was spoken, the boss's face was flushed red with so much anger he wanted to puke blood on the spot.

He was the fool!

He was completely played according to the person's tune and ended up killing one of his good men! His chest heaved up and down from excessive anger.

Naturally, Albion was unaware that his actions had gotten someone killed, nor was he aware of his natural gift for infuriating people.

His phone rang once more.

"Ello, this is—"

[Enough! You can drop the act now! I know I am speaking to Albion Black, or so the name says on paper, isn't that right?]

Boss Gai spoke with a darkened expression while trying to contain his fury.

Albion shrugged after he was found out.

He realized he must have let the cat was out of the bag at some point. After all, what kind of company name was PC-Fix-Fast-And-Easy anyway?

He lamented at his lack of creativity.

"That's right, I am Albion Black." Albion admitted before asking nonchalantly, "Who am I speaking to? Why are you calling me? And why should I care?"

[Oh, you'll definitely care once you know who I am—I am the Bloodmoon Gang's branch leader, the overlord of Silvercove City, Dum Gai.]

"Pfft!"

A quick burst of muffled laughter immediately escaped Albion's lips.

He did not expect that it was the Bloodmoon Gang's branch leader to be the person calling him and to have such a unique name, nonetheless.

[What's so funny?]

Boss Gai's expression darkened.

What else could Albion say? Whoever named this person must have some sort of deep hatred for this person.

"Ahem, it's nothing. And?" Albion asked, unfazed by the caller's identity.

Boss Gai's brows furrowed deeply with unhappiness.

Nevertheless, he had to contain his fury and carry out the task assigned from above.

No matter how great his position seemed to others, he was just a branch leader of the Bloodmoon Gang and not its top boss in the end.

[I heard you did my right-hand man in pretty well. The Bloodmoon Gang could use a person of your caliber. As such, I am extending an invitation to you. Join our gang as my new right-hand man, and the blood debt between us will be written off.]

Boss Gai spoke.

Albion raised an eyebrow in surprise before he asked curiously, "You don't care about the men that died under my hands?"

[No. If they die, they die. Dead people cannot be used. However, you are alive! Your strength is important to our gang. We sincerely welcome you with open arms!]

Boss Gai stated.

"Such a sh*tty gang?" Albion gasp before asking, "And if I don't want to join?"

[Then we will utilize all our manpower and resources to destroy you! I strongly advise you not to go down that path. The Bloodmoon Gang is far more powerful than you think!]

Boss Gai warned.

"Well, I kinda welcome a good challenge. Don't disappoint me," Albion said with a smirk before ending the call.
