Once Albion raised the question, a near-imperceptible glint appeared in the eyes of all five dark fae maids. It was so slight that Albion might have missed it if he hadn't observed their expressions.
His own eyes flickered.
The five dark fae maids' expressions were well controlled, but the eyes were the windows to their souls. They couldn't hide their deepest emotions from Albion.
He wasn't exactly sure what they were thinking, but he understood that their spirits weren't dead.
Either their slave training wasn't rigorous enough, or their wills were strong enough to overcome their slave training.
If it was the former, then so be it.
However, if there is any chance it was the latter, Albion would be interested in learning about their history.
