THE AIR WAS TORN WITH FERAL SNARLS AND SCREECHES OF PAIN, and several patches of grass were stained scarlet. There were limp figures scattered on the ground, but to his profound relief, they all looked to be Killian's people. The pride for his own family and friends fighting abilities briefly flashed through him, but he could not shake a pervading sense of worry; this had not been the plan. This was not what Killian, and he had agreed on. Grayson knew deep down within him couldn't help but feel like this was going smoothly, and like something was bound to happen to turn these events against me.
He scanned the area, looking for a familiar silver wolf, but he could not find her. The battling creatures stayed in clumps of two or three and were spaced across the clearing and even into the woods. Grayson knew she had to be uninjured because he hadn't felt any pain. Amidst the multitude of scents, he could not precisely locate her.
