HER BODY SEEMED TO RELAX WHEN HIS VOICE REGISTERED IN HER MIND. She wanted to turn around and hit him for giving her yet another heart attack but with the way he was holding her, she could barely move. The hand around her waist seemed to be sending an electric shock through her entire body and she wondered if Grayson could feel it too.
Ryan reappeared and quickly Grayson pulled her against him as he hid behind a branch of a tree.
"Alison?" She heard Ryan say, "Where the hell did you go?"
Grayson'd grip tightened around her mouth.
"Alison!" Ryan bellowed. She wanted to tell him that she was here, safe and sound, but Grayson's hand stopped her. So she did the only thing that seemed tenable in the moment. She bit on his hand, hard.
"Fuck!" Hastily, his hand was off her mouth and she was able to regain her breath. He stared at her for a second, curiosity swam through. his eyes them a grim expression contorted his face. "Seriously?"
