"Mother and daughter both are safe and sound." said the nurse.
Tears were falling from his eyes because of joy. He moved forward slowly with mud spiriting from his shoes.
His wife was laying down with her child. Though she had a smile on her face, the pale of her face could easily be seen. It was a day of pleasure. Edward took his daughter in his arm and said, "Oh my daughter, this is your very first day to see the world. I pray that you would be faster than a cheetah, sharper than a fox. Your name would be Saliva."
"Thank you so much, Mam," said Edward.
"Wait here, Honey I will come back after leaving madam back to the city."
Edward left the treehouse with the nurse.
He took the nurse to the end of the forest as her car was parked there.
"Take care of your wife and child." The nurse said as she departed.
Edward was on his way back to the treehouse. The rain stopped a little while ago. Though the ground was watery. Moving was harder.
He saw footprints of wolves and other wild animals.
"Wolf's are very active nowadays, Maybe because of the rain. Gotta hurry, Daughter is waiting for me."
The sky became clear as the sun was rising. The sound of birds chirping was making his mind cheerful. He was merrily stepping through the forest. But his joy didn't last for long. When he came to contact with his home.
He saw his dear wife crawling on the entrance of the treehouse. She was facing out the door.
Bite marks were visible to the naked eyes. Her clothes were dense with blood. Edward was totally astonished by this scene. He ran to her promptly. Looking closely he saw the lower half of her body was torn apart. It was a truly horrible sight to see. The body of her blocked the entrance for anyone to enter. Seeing his wife in such a way, he broke out in tears. He hugged her hard.
"Dear, Please wake up! You told me that you and I will raise our daughter with happiness. Then why are you leaving us? It's not fair.
Wake u-p..."
He wept for a while. Then moved the body of her so that he could enter the treehouse.
Inside, his daughter, 'Saliva' was moving her hands and feet excitingly. The innocent smile on her face looks like an angel. Edward took her in his arm. He looked at his wife once and then glanced at Saliva.
"So, She sacrificed herself in order to save you. Certainly the love of a mother."
What happened was last night when he went to advance the nurse. A pack of wolves ambushed his treehouse. The mother wanted to save his daughter but she couldn't do it all alone. So, She put herself out of the house making the wild animals difficult to enter the treehouse. In other words, she sacrificed herself to save her beloved daughter.
