Chapter 1: our first days
The first thing I see when I wake up is a book on a little table and some random people in black capes pointing at me and the others, and one person who looks like pope in dark blue clothes. The second thing I see is that we are with around 15 people here, 3 times as much as people who transferred from the party and I didn't know most of them. Besides me and Sinjon there where 3 people from our hometown: Boreas, Abbe and Lych. Each of them had an altar in front of them, each with another item: Sinjon had two daggers, Boreas a wand with a purple gem on top, Abbe just a yellow gemstone and Lych had a bow and an arrow. That moment the pope spoke: 'Heroes from another world, I welcome you to Zalesis. First I ask you all to come with me to the palace, my disciples will accompany you to there. Once we are in the palace we will tell you everything you need to know. Take your items and follow us.' And just like that we followed a random dude without any reason just because everyone is too confused to say anything.
We arrived at the palace with a huge crowd of people around us who gathered when we walked to the palace. Inside the palace we are taken to the crown hall where a man with a crown sit on a throne, the king probably and next to him is an empty thrown…
The king asked something to the pope, but they are too far away to understand what they are talking about. A moment later the king starts talking to us: "Hero's from another world I welcome you to our world. As most of you probably know (because you are all degenerated weebs) you need to help us defeating the demon king with a name no one can even pronounce, Esparkuij or something (real name is Esparquj) so we need your help. All of you have at least 1 item to help you with it. This item gives you skills to help you on your journey and it grows with you. It gives you an additional stat, something you and only you can let grow: only a shielder has a defense stat and only an assassin has an agility stat. While everyone has an mana only mages have mana recovery stat. Of course everyone's mana recovers and nobody has zero defense or agility but only if you have those specific items they can actually grow. Some other items can possibly give the same additional stat, but that is a rare case and mostly because they are another item in the same class, for example there are 3 kinds of mages: the ones who need a wand to use their own mana for spells, the ones who need a stone to store their mana in and extract it when they need it for a spell and the ones who have no need for stones but can do everything on their own. If you are one of those you still have a stone anyway but that's because you need it to know in which class you are, you can still use it to transfer mana to someone else but that's all. Some other classes have no additional stat but one of their stats have a huge boost, like fist fighters with strength, or some mages with mana.
But there is a penalty, you can't team up with each other because of the power of your weapons: when you are with more than 3 hero's in a radius of 500 meters you can't level up yourself or your weapon. And with 2 in the same radius it will be very difficult. For that reason we highly recommend to find other party members as fast as you can. The palace will provide you with everything you need. Every single one of you gets 300 golden coins for armor and other supplies. Tomorrow you can go to the city to use those coins and after that you can go and train here in the palace or in the woods. There are some low level demonic beasts there but most people don't get killed and since you're all hero's I think you are save. We now send you to your rooms, dinner will be brought. After that you can go to sleep or discover everything we know about you're items in the royal library. You are free to go now"
After the dinner I go to the library and searched everything about my book but I didn't find anything, until I decided to start reading my own book, it was a good plan. Inside it I found my status plate, with a note:" you are a librarian and every skill in this plate is unlocked the moment you read this." At that moment a message came in my head: "congrats you unlocked new skills, you can view your skills in your book" after that I felt so stupid I just did go to sleep.
The next day I did go to the city with Sinjon and searched for good armor. We found a little shop with some solid armor and we bought what we needed: nothing special, only boots, and some light armor because I don't know how I can fight as a librarian and Sinjon has a high agility but can't use that in his fullest whit a heavy armor. After that we bought some clothes and 3 books whit assassin skills for Sinjon, I stored them in my library. Later that day we studied the books, knowing that was probably one of our last moments since we couldn't adventure together. In the evening when I got to my own room I noticed I had still one of the books in my library: it was an autobiography about an assassin with every skill he ever learned described whit precision. I started reading and then one moment a message popped up in my head: "do you want to activate focused reading and readers viewpoint?" I said "yes"
