"What is he doing?" Vega who had gotten back in the black SUV asked herself as she couldn't contemplate what she was witnessing. "What's going on over there?"
Vega who was still looking at the helicopter at the time of the explosion was shocked to think that how could a single bullet from a sniper rifle deal such destructive damage?
She was disappointed at first and thought that Max was a fraud as they weren't 100% sure that he is their real target. They knew that the real Maxwell Butcher died after a friendly fire occurred with the ones they had gone to rescue. It was just logical, they were onto this 'Maxwell' because they just looked alike. It was just a procedure to ensure that maybe he is the real Maxwell as they didn't recover his body from the place where he was supposed to be dead.
If they could confirm that he was the Maxwell that was 'dead' in the public eyes. Then they would be like they had recovered a long time lost treasure. As he had consumed billions of dollars just to upgrade him from nothing to something.
Vega has seen the bullet pass by just above her. It was making an ascension that no normal sniper rifle bullets were able to achieve comparing the distance between the two points and the speed of the wind. It was so far, and now it was able to defy gravity.
She had conflicting thoughts as to whether the guy she was looking at now from a distance was probably the real Maxwell as the shot didn't achieve anything after impact. As in how many people came back from the dead in this current world. Though they had advanced technology in some places, it was still impossible to bring someone back to life after death.
But after witnessing the sheer amount of power released by the explosion of the helicopter which was able to shake the ground a couple of miles away from the impact, and the fact that she had to support herself with the SUV. It probably changed the thinking to that of pure confidence.
'He is the one!'
But what she saw next confused and left her in awe. And now looking at the man who was on the tarmac probably pushed out of the car before climbing back on his feet. She knew that something fishy was going on and decided to take this opportunity to snatch him away. She stepped on the gas and headed in their direction and soon enough saw the remaining Apache heading towards the same direction and she cursed under her breath.

"What's going on?" The Leader of the remaining team clad in black tactical suits and face masks asked as they first saw the first helicopter blown into pieces by a fierce explosion and the second one was leaving without even saying anything to them.
They had finally extricated themselves after being in a fierce battle with the Special Forces. They were almost out of ammunition and thanked their creator when they had that Rescue Team was a few minutes away from their location.
"I don't know maybe something came up." One of the soldiers remarked.
"No that can't be the case here, they don't give a shit about us. Just think of how they mingle with us. They think highly of themselves yet we are all the same." Another soldier said with scorn on his face.
Thinking of how many they were when they left to base a couple of hours earlier and what was left from that group, everyone knew it was a losing battle. And at their darkest hour a glimpse of light shown on them but now looking at the departing helicopter, they were hopeless.
"No, it's not that. Something doesn't smell right. We didn't even hear the sound of a missile yet one of our helicopters was taken down. They are probably retreating or facing the enemy head-on. And either way, it leaves us with one option." Their Leader said.
"What?" One of his comrades asked.
"We are all alone. We must try to survive and find a way out of here."
"Okay."
They all responded as they came to the same conclusion.
A half a mile away from them. Bravo and Delta team met up and were seen to be discussing the current situation they were in right now.
"What should we do?" Delta 1 asked Bravo 1 as soon as the two teams met up as he was on the ground earlier and had authority as this was his Op.
"We have to go after them. We can't go after the helicopter and we have lost our target for some time. The only viable remaining way is to not let them escape. Keep in mind that now we need them alive for interrogation. Does anyone have an idea as to how we can achieve that?" Bravo 1 addressed the team.
"The GMV may do the work." One member of Delta Team spoke up. "But we will have to push them in before locking up the car."
"Okay, make it happen. We don't have much time." Bravo 1 said.
They contacted Command who had absolute control over the GMV and explained their workout plan. In a minute they all started jogging in the direction of the team clad in black tactical suits. Not long after, the GMV passed them with great speed bathing them with a gush of wind.
Soon enough it came to a halt just a few meters past the place where their enemy was hiding with a screeching sound.
The soldiers clad in black tactical suits were panicking after seeing the GMV pass them. And then it revved back to where they were. With no possible escape route, they started unleashing bullets at the car. But they all were in vain as they bounced harmlessly off the surface.
'Shit! It's bulletproof.'
That's what they thought. But what happened next, sent them to oblivion. They stopped shooting as they took a glance inside the GMV. It was unoccupied.

'What am I doing?'
'Am walking right into the lion's den while am conscious.'
'What's happening to me?'
I asked myself questions as I couldn't understand what was going on with my body. It was like my body had its own consciousness and I was just an entity.
I had no control over my body, and I knew I wasn't in control anymore. It made me think maybe I was possessed by a demon. It was the only explanation left.
I knew for a fact that from the series that I watched a few years back when I was still a teenager, that an angel asks for permission before possessing a human being. However, a demon can just possess anyone forcefully and even wear a dead man's meat suit. They had no limitations.
But it wasn't logical thinking of that as if it was real. But after what I've seen in my time, anything is possible in this world even though no one has laid eyes on it.
In the Hypersport, Rue was in conversation with Aya.
"What do you mean saying he isn't Maxwell?"
"Well, how can I put this... It's like something foreign and ancient has awakened inside him."
"By my observations and the energy being released from his body, there is something else apart from him. In my calculations, it has always been there in deep slumber, but you awoke it."
"Me!! How come I did it?"
"From those joules of electricity that you tazzed him with, plus the injections that we gave him. His body is in conflict at this time. The agony that he is going through is much worse than death."
"Now what?!" Rue asked after hearing what Aya told her. She was now feeling guilty. And had to think of something before things got out of hand than they have already.
"I am afraid that we only have one option in this matter."
"What is it?" Rue asked impatiently.
"In the vicinity, there are three forces that want to get their hands on Max. A black SUV behind us carries that woman. There is a helicopter headed our way that carries the second force; They aren't from this world as everything on them is off the charts. They are masking a lot of their attributes like temperature so as to blend more easily like humans."
"There threat level is high!"
"The third force is the LAPD in front of us: First Maxwell is the one causing death, havoc and suffering on this neighborhood and now a wanted man in the eyes of these police officers. Second is that he has a history with the Chief, at that time she was the Captain of LAPD but she was demoted after her daughter called her saying that the girl she went home with after a party had a room full of weapons."
"Her mother as the Captain acted fast and in no time apprehended Max and his partner. She didn't know that she was making the biggest mistake in her career. So if any of those get their hands on him while in that state, they would have secured a trophy."
"So what happened after Max was arrested?" Rue asked excitedly about the story. It was a thriller to her that was happening just in front of her.
"It's neither the time nor the place for such things. Compose yourself as you'll be the one to get him back inside the car."
"So what's the plan?"
