First, I'll talk about the results of my experiments with [Synthesis].
As I have found out the hard way, the cost for using [Synthesis] is quite taxing, mentally, not physically.
After I merged all of the ten orbs and spheres with my body, I synthesized two of my abilities, [Weakness to Light Damage] and [Weakness to Sunlight] which even if I lose it won't be a problem. Then, I reached my limit, I lose all of my drive to continue synthesizing further.
Following that, I stopped because I felt that if I continue synthesizing in that state, something irremediable may happen to me, so I don't know what would have happened to me if I had ignored my state and continued experimenting, but of course I won't risk it to try to find out.
By the way, the ability that resulted from the synthesis yesterday is called [Extreme Weakness to Sunlight Damage]. I activated the ability and exposed only the tip of one of my fingers to the sunlight outside as a test, then it literally started burning. Burning down spontaneously? That's not funny even as a joke, so I decided to seal this ability from now on.
Also the original two abilities remained, but when I tried activating them they didn't demonstrate any effects, in other words, when I synthesize abilities they're lost permanently, and because they didn't disappear and merely lost their effects I can't learn them again. So I'll have to be careful when synthesizing abilities from now on.
Today I left the training of the newcomers to Ogakichi-kun.
As for me, I supervised the renovation works of the base including the hot springs and the training grounds, because we had the manpower of sixty two human slaves, the restless black skeletons and the demi-humans from the returning home-group, the work progressed at a fairly high speed.
The renovation works covered many areas including securing enough comfortable beds for everyone, expanding and equipping the external training grounds, a wooden wall around the base for defense, expanding the hot springs to earn gold from the elfs, etc.
It seems like the elves in this forest have never tried hot springs before, they just wash their bodies with water. Seeing their reactions after they heard that we have a hot spring in our base, I thought that I might be able to get some money if I turned it into business. I'm thinking of inviting Father Elf when the construction works are complete to have him try the hot springs and spread word about them in « The Elven Village ».
