So on Saturday we everyone got up they went outside. We could feel the difference in the air. The wards and shield were in place. After they knew that they stayed outside longer. People were calmer and more relaxed. Then I called everyone to the center so I could talk to them.
"Okay guys everyone is going to start training. We have five years to come up with a plan to take the Council down. This time we won't run away. They will get what they deserve. Many women and children lost their lives that year and we will avenge them. All of you must learn to fight. All of you must learn to defend. But only together will we win. Now training will start today. We will do it in two hour shifts until you all get used to it then we will move to three hours. I don't want to do more than four hours because then you will just be tired and we can't have that. You all know your instructors and every day it will be a different one. This way you learn many styles of fighting. Today it will be Damon teaching so you all have thirty minutes to get what you need than we will meet back here. Off you go now."
After that everyone went on their way to get whatever they needed for the session. I also needed to make a call. Then we would get a good work out.
So I call Gabriel, he answers on the third ring. I tell him what's going on here. I also tell him I want him and his family to love into the community. There are plenty of empty places to choose from. I also told him we just finished putt putting shields and wards around the whole perimeter. I also told him he is on the teaching schedule for self defense training class's this week. Then I asked him if he and his family would be willing to move into a house here. He said he would have to talk to his wife about that. I was okay with that. And I told him she would have plenty of on site babysitters. He laughed at that and said he would call me later.
When I got off the phone everyone was already gathered outside. So I grabbed my stuff and went to join them.
Everyone gave me strange looks when I walked out to join the group. I looked at them in return and said," Hey I need to train as well. I don't plan on dieing a second time."
They laugh at this and then we get to work.
"Okay people play time is over, to start with we will all run a half mile. Take it easy it's not a race. After that we will do warm up drills then we will work with the sticks. Move it, move it, move it people we are wasting day light."
Everyone starts running, I noticed that they have a half mile already marked out. But if you think about we are running a full mile because we have to go back. We get back to the starting point then we do stretched and a few passes with the sticks. Then the hard part begins. We work on blocks for the upper body, and middle of the body. They we work on strikes for the arms and legs.
"If you can't use your arms you can't defend yourself. If you can't use your legs you can't run away. either way your dead."
"That's a bit morbid don't you think Damon?"
"It might be morbid but it's the truth. You said you didn't want to die again so soon. So swing for your life."
He made a good point, so that's what I focus on every day.
When training ended for the day I think things went well. The brothers agreed with me. Tomorrow one of the other brothers would teach. As my phone started ringing I noticed Emily and the girl's stayed to practice some more. I was proud of them.
When I looked at the phone I saw it was Gabriel calling. I hoped it was good news. He gave me a short answer that had me worried.
" We will be there in an hour. Are you sure the wards are good? I will need the guys to help me move the children's things."
Then he hung up and I just had to wait for the bad news.
