In ancient times there was a man named Bulontoi who married a beautiful woman. The result of their marriage produced a very beautiful daughter named Komulakan. When the child became an adult, he became a diligent child working on the farm. At one point, he asked his mother about the location of the land they would choose this year for farming. His mother and father said that the land is quite far from the village, if he wants to go to the place it can be easily identified because on the land there is a very large and tall "moggilan" tree. So Komulakan went to the land and performed the ritual "gumawoi", a ritual to ask for plant fertility.
While he was performing the ritual of gumawoi, Lantibong came a handsome single man through the place. When Komulakan saw Lantibong, he was scared because he thought he was a bad person. Lantibong said "don't be afraid" and asked him, "what are you doing here". Komulakan replied, "I am performing a gumawoi ritual". "That's good" said Lantibong, "let's work together", he continued. They also performed the ritual together. They returned to their homes; before that Komulakan asked Lantibong if he wanted to go home? Lantibong said, "yes I want to go home, but tomorrow I will come again to help you work on the farm". The next day, Lantibong came again to the farm to help Komulakan, and the two worked on the farm together until the farm produced fruit and love blossomed all the time they were together.
After the rice was harvested, they divided the yield into two, partly for Komulakan and partly for Lantibong. After that Lantibong said, "let us return to my house in the village, because I have promised Sambawon to fight Tonsimong". Komulakan felt sad and said, "I do not want to go to your house, let us live in this land, start a new life". Lantibong mistakenly said, "I have promised Sambawon to fight Tonsimong, in our village only I was chosen to fight Tonsimong. I have to fulfill my promise to Sambawon. But, if you still want to stay here, remember the message I, if anyone wants to marry you, do not accept these men, except a man named Dumaring ".
Later, Lantibong returned to his village and helped Sambawon fight Tonsimong, but Komulakan remained in the farm hut they both worked on. His parents and siblings were worried about Komulakan, his brothers came to invite Komulakan home, but Komulakan said, "I do not want to go home, I want to wait for Lantibong here until he returns". One night, Komulakan dreamed of meeting Lantibong and Lantibong said to him, "I see you are still waiting here". "True, sy is waiting for you here", said Komulakan. Lantibong replied, "don't wait for me anymore, because I was killed while fighting against Tonsimbong when I was riding the Sambawon goribon". Komulakan was awake, he looked outside the house and saw Lantibong's feet going down the stairs of their farm hut.
Seeing that, Komulakan quickly got up and returned to his house. As long as he was in his house, as many as six to seven men had sent rings to marry him, but he refused them all. Then came a man named Dumaring to send his ring, because he remembered Lantibong's words, so he accepted the man's proposal. So his parents decided that seven days later Komulakan and Dumaring would be married. After seven days had passed, Dumaring came to get married to Komulakan. Komulakan refuses to follow Dumaring home, as he is still waiting for Lantibong's return. His brother said, "Why do you not want to follow him? Isn't Dumaring very suitable for you? How many more men should we reject their proposal?". His brother became very angry with Komulakan and began to force Komulakan to follow Dumaring.
Komulakan followed Dumaring under duress. When Dumring came to pick him up, he closed his eyes not wanting to see Dumaring. They also live together as husband and wife, but during their stay at Dumaring's house, Komulakan closed his eyes and did not want to see Dumaring. When Komulakan returned to his house, his eyes remained closed. A month later, Dumaring took Komulakan back to be taken to his house, his eyes still closed. When Dumaring was at his house, he said, "Open your eyes dear, see who is more handsome, Dumaring or Lantibong?". But Komulakan kept his eyes closed. Komulakan was pregnant, but until she gave birth, she kept her eyes closed and did not want to see Dumaring. So she gave birth to a son.
When the child has started to be good at speaking, then the son of Komulakan said to him, "Mother, open your eyes and see who is more handsome, my father (Dumaring) or Lantibong?". Komulakan still did not want to open his eyes. So his son opened his mother's eyes with his fingers forcibly, and Komulakan saw Dumaring standing in front of him. So when Komulakan saw Dumaring, then he knew that Dumaring was actually Lantibong himself. So he stood up happily and burst into tears and said, "why did you change your name. I remember you are not Lantibong the man I love". Dumaring also hugged him and said, "Didn't I already say, do not accept rings from all men, except men named Dumaring?". So both of them live happily ever after.
