I managed to drag myself back to shore. Once I managed to drag myself back onto the shore banks, I heaved and coughed to try and get rid of any of the water that might've entered my lungs.
Roar!
The ground shook underneath me.
"Ugh… What is that?" I swung my head around to try and dislodge the water that had blocked my ears. As the water leaked out, for a split second my ears cleared up and became sensitive.
Roar!
"Ugh… so loud!" I stuck my pinkie into my ear to damper the noise.
The noise seemed to be coming from the sky so I lifted my head to the sky but saw nothing.
Grumbling to myself, I rolled over onto my back and gasped.
"Fuck that's better!"
I closed my eyes for a few seconds in hopes to lower my heart rate.
"Help!"
I reopened my eyes again and jolted upright. My heart thumped in my chest.
Ba dump! Ba dump!
"Please! Someone save me!"
It was a female voice but with a bit of an animalistic tone to it.
[Warning: You've now entered a {World Event}.]
My eyes widened as a notification flashed in front of me.
World event?
I've only been in a few of these before but none of them were ever this close to the beginner's spawn point.
Normally a world event is held by the GM's for community fun and exclusive loot. There are also some events that are held by the game creators themselves and is a tie in to the main story. This 'world event' has notified me via notification which meant that it was from the game because if it was hosted by the GM's, they would've notified everyone through the world chat.
Roar!
The sound became unbearably loud and felt like at any moment, my ears were about to explode. The ground shook hard and caused the water from the lake to rise causing a high tide.
As the water slowly crept up, I scurried myself off the banks and back onto the grassy area.
I looked to the sky again and off in the distance was something large coming my way.
Well it was way off in the distance but with how loud the sound is and the fact that it could make the earth shake meant that it was definitely big.
I struggled my way back to the tree and stared at the approaching threat. My mana was nonexistent and it would take time to regenerate the mana back up to one hundred percent.
I opened up my inventory and glanced at the amount of health and mana potions I have left.
9 health potions and 9 mana potions.
Once I reach Lacan City, health and mana potions will be the first things I need to buy… amongst other things. I took out two health potions and two mana potions and down all four of them like shots.
The first health and mana potions gave me back almost all of my health and mana and when the second lot of potions took affect, replenishing the rest, both my health and mana bars glowed their respected colours of red and blue.
Overflow.
Overflow is a slight status buff when you drank excess amount of the potions. It will only affect those that are beginners, meaning level 30 and below. It's a buff that gives you health and mana regeneration of + 100% of first use. Basically allowing you to take one free shot [Relative to the user's level plus half of the opponent's strength] and dish out one free spell [Relative to the user's spell consumption cost and user's mana amount].
Thank you newbs! Yet again it's thanks to the new player's complaints that this buff was added.
Whilst I've never experienced it since I was way passed the level when it was introduced, I came across the feature when I happened to glance at a new game update showcase they had two years ago.
I definitely will need this buff for what's ever is coming towards me…
I looked to skies to see how far the creature is and my eyes instantly widened.
Before I couldn't tell what it was because it was a tiny silhouette in the night sky barely visible by the moonlight but now as it came closer and the silhouette became more pronounced, the shape of it looked like a dragon…
But that's not the surprising part, what's more shocking was it's not one but two dragons.
It's still really hard to tell but there was a slight fluctuation when it's wings looked like it was flapping in stock motion.
Something was off. I don't know what it is but something deep inside of me is telling me that what's coming isn't something simple. Obviously, what's more simpler than imminent death by two dragons but something is telling me otherwise.
Before, what's about to happen, happens. I needed to be prepared as best as I can. I have gained a few levels and needed to allocate the points.
I was now level 21 which meant that I have 6 points to use. Thinking logically, with my level and the skills that I have, it was damn near impossible to even do anything to a dragon. From what I know about them, dragon's are mythical creatures that comes from the Kingdom of Dracona off in the mountains somewhere. It's a secluded place and has many magical barriers surrounding it for protection.
The lowest level a dragon could theoretically could have from birth is 80. It's only speculation since not many players have found the place and the game creators only hinted at it in a forum.
What I definitely know was a simple fact. A base level of any mythical creatures are set at level 75. If a dragon was indeed born at a base level of 80 then an adult would be over a hundred…
Yep impossible… if I was a novice.
Thankfully my knowledge I've accumulated over the many years of playing at the top and staying at the top, I've watched not only my gameplay but others as well. It's how I found out about the cheat skill, 'steal'. A thief main named HiddenStriker was ranked 10 the last time I've seen him. He was so skilled in using the thief class that every single thing he does seemed almost natural.
Thief class is one of the most hardest classes to utilised because of it's complexity. With it's selection of skills and the amount of button mashing required, not many players would ever choose this class, let alone main with it.
HiddenStriker was so in tune with the class that he would always cosplay when competing. Though cosplaying in a competition would rile up the crowd, his signature manoeuvre known as 'Harvenger' would have the opposite effect and cause the crowd to awe in silence. A serious of footwork that would make even the most skilled apm veterans gulp in awe, adding strategic uses of the skill 'steal', HiddenStriker could pinpoint steal anything from his opponent. From gear to spells and special abilities, using this manoeuvre, HiddenStriker could take and use anything he could get his hands on.
Whilst I knew back in the competitive world, I couldn't replicate such a manoeuvre or even come close to his god like apm but with the situation I'm in now, this manoeuvre might just help me.
I placed 2 points into [Steal] and 2 points into [mouse squire] maxing it out and 1 points into [Frost Bite] which unlocked a new path skill called [Ice Spikes] and placed a point into it.
I could've placed my remaining points into the new path skill for summoning when I maxed out [Mouse Squire] for [Four-tails Eagle] but ultimately decided that ice spikes would be more advantageous in this situation.
Just as I was about to go over everything in my head, a screen popped up in front of me.
{World Event}
[Dragon and Maid]
[Difficulty: **********]
[Mission Brief: A big mean dragon lord is chasing after his maid. The Dragon lord is a cruel and sadistic dragon who likes to play games with his people. Most games the dragon lord plays ends in the death of his people. The young maid needs someone to save her.]
[Accept] [Decline] [Timer: 0:30]
Oh boy…
A difficulty of 10? Oh that is impossible…
To save a maid from a dragon lord… is it worth my life?
Roar!
The crackling scorched tone of it's voice rippled through the forest, giving every single creature in the forest a choice to flee.
Roar!
If the first one was a warning, then this one was definitely a threat as it shook the earth below me.
The gut feeling I had not long ago came back and as I looked up upon my incoming impossible task… I saw why.
The smaller dragon who's having trouble keeping steady in flight must be injured. The smaller dragon must be the maid. With every flap of her wings caused her to dip and moan with pain. She was hurt badly and sooner or later she will fall from the pain and exhaustion.
"Help me… someone… anyone… please help…"
Her voice was becoming weak and strained. She must've been calling out for someone to help for a very long time.
I felt my heart beat hard inside my chest as the timer ticked below 10 seconds.
Fuck…
In a moment of panic, Hana appeared in my mind. Her smile was all that I needed to make the decision.
I reached out and pressed the accept icon.
