Glancing down at my MP I can go on for a while more but a prolonged fight with the dragon is not an good idea since he has more health and mana than me. I throw a couple more bolts at the dragon while dodging the golden fire spewing from his mouth. I quickly use the spell summon and instead of a monkey coming out a horde of skeletons and skeleton mages spawn and start attacking the dragon. Rejuvenated by the horde of skeletons I start firing off Dark Bolts trying to critically injure the dragon so the skeletons can finish him off by their sheer numbers. I check my mana to see it down to half and decide to fire off a couple more Dark bolts and then retreat and let my mana regenerate.
After a while my mana regenerates and I see that the dragon is now at 10% health and I still have a decent amount of skeletons left. I start throwing Dark bolts at the dragon so I can finish him off quickly and move on to the next portion of the inheritance. The dragon goes down about ten minutes later and I go to loot him and beside the loot bag there is a book with a leather strap holding the pages in place. I put the book into my inventory and look to see what kind of look I got.
(Loot Bag)
100 gold coins
50 silver coins
10 bronze coins
Staff of the Undying (Increases chances of summoned minions to be of better quality + increased dark magic damage
Cloak of stealth (Wearer has increased stealth)
Overall I'm pretty happy with the items that dropped the coins were really needed to since I'm going to start needing armor from the shops in the village market. Another pedestal comes up from the ground after I loot the body. I walk over to it and once again drop blood onto it. It glows and then teleports me to a library will hundreds of shelfs and thousands upon thousands of books. In the middle of the library another recording starts playing.
"Being one of the most powerful races we dragons have studied the mysteries of the universe and also kept track of our heritage and were we came from. All of these books around you have knowledge that any scholar would die to get their hands on. For this trial you must read the selected books and when finished you must take a test to see if you understood and learned the sacred knowledge inside those books. If you manage to pass all trials then the library will be accessible through your soul. I wish you the best of luck."
After the recording stops I'm suddenly inside a room with three ancient looking books sitting in front of me. The first one was called The Mysteries of the Universe by Khar Diam, the second one was called A Proud Dragons lineage by Keeper of the Scrolls, and the final one is called The Ancestral Home of the Dragons by Unknown. I decided to go in order of books so I picked up Mysteries of the Universe and started reading.
After two days of reading I finally finished the third and final book and now ready to take the test. In front of me and paper and pen suddenly appear and I begin to answer the first question. It seems I was right to do in order because all the first questions are from the first book. They ask me about black holes, wormholes, and the possibility of multiverses. I answer each one with confidence and breeze through the test without any problems. The recorder started to play again but this time it was spread throughout the whole room.
"You have passed the second test and will now be teleported to the final trial room. Inside will be a pool of dragon blood that you will absorb into your body. If the blood is too much for you to handle you will die however if you successfully absorb all of the blood then you will have officially passed the final test and become a royal dragon."
I'm teleported to the final room and in front of my is a pool with golden blood sitting in it. Following the instructions of the dragon I quickly sink in and start absorbing the blood. At first it was a tingling sensation but now its a fire spreading through my body reconstructing and making it hard as steel. After suffering through the burning in my body I finally finished absorbing all of the blood in the pool. The recorder once again pops up but this time with a saddened tone.
"Congratulations on completing the final trial. I'm glad that our proud race shall not die out but I am sad to say you will probably be the only dragon in existence right now. However once you get stronger you may be able to turn other species into dragons and get revenge on those who have wronged us. I wish you luck on your adventures and don't bring shame our dragon race.
