The Explosive Meteor was a move that Josh personally created. It was a move that couldn't detonate by itself, as it was an enlarged fireball that was slightly compressed into a durable stone shell.
It wasn't a skill that was on Josh's true arsenal. It was purely off of quick thinking that made it a good surprise attack in this situation.
If the deadnight had dodged however, this skill would have just wasted his mana, so it was a gamble if it would strike the meteor or not.
"Haaaaaa- Finally it's over", Josh sighed out in relief. The dust from the explosion and the half burnt leaves started to settle down.
Because of the obstructive dust the hearing of his ears were that of an alert elf. Usually they were manually turned on by just activating the skill, however there were certain times when it automatically activated.
Just as Josh fell into a sense of security a thought had plagued his mind. There were notifications saying how much a player had earned when a monster has been slain or a quest was completed.
"Palm Vortex", Josh raised his hand and a gust of wind blew the dust away. "Stationary Water Bullet", two balls of water the size of a fist floated close to his back.
It was currently night and the colour scheme of the deadnight was that of Navy blue. The dome that sheltered France had some markings where the brighter rock would glow brightly in the pitch black of night.
The deadnight was nowhere to be seen. It has probably used the opportunity to sneak behind Josh, and was just waiting for the opportunity to strike.
"France! It's still alive", Josh screamed out.
"Naturally, that thing goes to the next phase when it dies.", France groaned out.
"Give me 5 minutes, my healing rate is quite slow even with potions"
"I'll remove the exit, scream out to a hole above if you want to exit."
"I will."
Josh had touched the dome and put 10 small holes at the top part and closed off the exit.
[Fwaaap] The sound of air being sliced had been heard.
Josh jumped to his left, the direction of the noise was forward right of where he was originally looking.
In retaliation, Josh split the two water bullets and fired off four at the deadnight.
"How annoying." Josh said in a strong tone, none of the high speed projectiles hit the target.
His mana reserve was getting low, his max mana capacity was high but it couldn't last full scale battles.
Josh used his increased hearing and started firing off fire arrows, this way the mana cost wouldn't be too high and it allowed to confirm the location of the Deadnight, even so the arrows barely missed the deadnight and it cocked its head up and down as if to mock Josh's aim.
Josh clicked his tounge and charged an elongated fire arrow. The deadnight was good at covering himself with trees, burning that away would give a chance for victory.
The fire arrow flickered and and burned bright blue at the tip this was enough to blast a tree away.
[Fwoosh!] The arrow burst forth, in just a moment the arrow had traveled to the unprepared enemy and the arrow ripped its arm off.
The arm fell down and burst into flames, even the wound of the deadnight started to burn.
"I'm ready!" France had called out.
"Got it", Josh kept his eyes on the deadnight whilst weakening a side of the dome.
The dome collapsed and France left it shocked.
"You defeated the two phases?", France asked with a low tone.
"No. The first is about to end."
"Thanks!", France's low tone disappeared in a moment.
"Infuse my sword with flames", France gave his sword to Josh.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Give me a moment", Josh said as he looked for a certain item in his inventory. He took out a red stone and infused most of his mana into it, he then rubbed it on the sword and the rock had melted into it.
"That should last a few hits", Josh calculated the amount his mana could offer.
"Rest for a bit. The final phase is about to begin.", France confidently walked towards the deadnight.
He then stabbed the deadnights heart and the wind started to push against him. He stood back and waited for the deadnight to hover.
His sword flaming and his eyes sharp, the deadnight stood up as France confidently took a stance.
It wasn't a defensive stance like earlier, he gripped the hilt of the sword tightly and held it to his waist and the blade was almost parallel to his chest, he positioned his right foot as the leading leg and had his knees slightly bent.
In the tense atmosphere the first to get a clean slice would be the winner, France had a skill that would work greatly with the flaming sword, however there were some setbacks.
[Fwaaaaaap] The deadnight had done a wide slash. France took a step back, barely dodging the blade. France then swung the sword sideways and the deadnight quickly clashed with his serrated dagger.
The serrated edge hooked onto the sword. The deadnight had a sword that tore through flesh but the blade could also be considered a sword breaker.
As the deadnight was about to pull the sword, "Dawn of the Juvenile Phoenix!" A small phoenix shot forth from the sword and unhooked it.
The bright orange flames from the sword subsided until they disappeared. The deadnight had gotten stunned and France swung his sword and sliced through its neck.
