Helen seemed perplex when I looked at her again, even doubtful and bewildered that I suddenly hugged her out of nowhere. But when he stared at me for a moment, tears started streaming down her eyes.
"Mom? Why are you crying?"
"I..I don't know. I don't know you but I..I feel... I feel sad. I'm sorry... Oh, dear."
She wiped her tears away in embarrassment and awkwardly stepped aside.
I was thrown off by her actions, especially when dad excused her first and escorted her upstairs, telling me to wait. When he returned, he revealed that Helen has amnesia.
"Amnesia? She can't remember us?"
"Yes."
I immediately felt concerned.
"Is she okay? I mean..."
"I have called for the family doctor and he will be here soon to check on her."
"That's good."
My eyes blurred as I fell into a daze.
"I can't believe it...Is this for real?"
